Audre Lorde once said, “I am not free while any woman is unfree, even when her shackles are very different from my own.” This statement is a profound reminder that true liberation, empowerment, and progress are collective endeavors. It calls upon us to stand in solidarity, not only for our individual growth but for the shared freedom of all women—regardless of the challenges they face. At the Logifem Society Network, the first and largest global platform dedicated to empowering women leaders in the logistics industry, we live by this principle. Logistics are an industry where gender inequality has persisted for decades, with women often facing unique and deeply ingrained barriers to leadership. Yet, it is also an industry that thrives on collaboration, problem-solving, and innovation—qualities women bring in abundance when given the opportunity. The Logifem Society Network was founded to dismantle these “shackles” in all their forms, from workplace discrimination and lack of representation in leadership to limited access to mentorship and growth opportunities. But our mission goes beyond empowering individual women. Inspired by Lorde’s words, we recognize that our freedom and success as women leaders in logistics are intrinsically tied to the freedom of every woman, in every corner of the world, and across every industry.
