For our subsidiary in Istanbul, we are looking for a VP, Credit Analysis within Global Corporate Investment Banking (GCIB) division on a full-time basis/permanent contract.


Main Purpose Of The Role:

Accountability for all aspects of the Credit Analysis function within GCIB Division at MUFG Turkey. GCIB Turkey manages MUFG’s Non-Japanese Large Corporate and Bank Clients in Turkey.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Authority and Responsibility to act as the lead credit analyst for MUFG Turkey GCIB portfolio.
  • Responsible for the preparation of forward-looking fundamental analysis in support of client onboarding, live transactions, facility renewals and annual reviews.
  • Responsible for participating in credit due diligence as part of the portfolio review process, as well as responsible for onboarding of new clients and following key risk events.
  • Responsible for developing in-depth individual counterparty understanding, facilitating a comprehensive top down and bottom-up risk review process.
  • Responsible and accountable for actively monitoring portfolio performance, undertaking regular qualitative and quantitative corporate analysis, conducting client due diligence, developing forecast models and ultimately making recommendations on both internal credit ratings and transaction proposals.
  • Responsible and accountable for assessing pertinent credit issues, raising salient points to the correct stakeholders and recommending risk mitigation actions where necessary.
  • Accountable and responsible for ensuring accurate and timely compliance with internal credit rules and credit reporting procedures.
  • Oversight of Associate/ Analyst level staff members through coaching, review of work papers and sharing of knowledge.
  • Responsible for managing of MUFG Turkey workflow and other day to day operational activities and initiatives.
  • Responsible for undertaking specific country and industrial sector search and other departmental or bank wide project work as appropriate.
  • Responsible for working effectively with other people via different methods, both inside and outside of his/her current department, building and promoting effective working relationships.
  • Authority to make result driven decisions and manage large workloads and tight deadlines.
  • Responsible for using a range of communication skills to be able to adapt to a range of clients, stakeholder and external parties.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, Engineering or related disciplines
  • Fluency in English
  • Robust articulation and presentation skills


Knowledge & Skills:

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in a similar function or relevant area. Banking industry is preferred. Experience with financial and business analysis is required.
  • Experience in structured lending transactions, project finance, and industry knowhow would be advantageous.
  • Experience with lending to large corporate clients is a plus.
  • Ability to take a forward-looking view using cash flow modelling and stress testing.
  • Strong understanding of loan documentation, local regulations and key credit protections.
  • Ability to work in collaboration with origination and diverse teams is key.
