It was 11 PM one night when things began to escalate.  . I had left my life in America to return home to care for my loved one in need of palliative care. This night he was in distress and I needed to race against time to get the medication he required —Haloperidol . 💊  Alone at night in a country where I didn’t feel entirely safe, I went from pharmacy to pharmacy. At that time options were limited, and every minute I spent searching felt like an eternity. The longer it took me, the worse the situation became at home —his suffering was weighing on me. . Eventually I found a small pharmacy in St. James. I finally made it to the counter after waiting in line for what felt like forever. I asked, "Do you have Haloperidol?" The pharmacist handed me a bottle of Allopurinol for Gout. I corrected him, "No, I need Haloperidol." His response: "Nah, we doh have dat.” . 🩺 In that moment I was grateful for my training as a doctor. I had the knowledge to quickly assess other options. I asked what was in stock — Thankfully, I was able to get something that would do the job, though it wasn't my first choice. “What if I wasn’t a doctor?” I thought to myself, “We would be stuck?” . It was in those moments of urgency that I realized how critical it is to be prepared. That night could have ended poorly if not for my training. I knew then that no one should ever face such a situation unprepared. . 🧰 Understanding the gaps in access we face here in our twin islands, I created and adapted an emergency kit—a palliative care lifeline. This kit ensures that symptoms like vomiting, pain, agitation, or sleeplessness can be managed swiftly, providing peace of mind for both patients and caregivers. . Upon founding @livhealthtt, my first priority was to extend this solution to others. Every patient now has access to their own emergency kit because no one should have to face those moments unarmed. I am committed to treating our patients with the same care and urgency I would give my family. This is at the heart of everything we do. 💙

Responsibilities of the Accountant : - To prepare monthly management accounts for the individual companies - LivHealth, LivCare, LivPharma, as well as consolidated management accounts for the LivHealth group. - Oversee the Billings Department of LivHealth, working closely with the Billings Manager and team. - Complete all accounting journals, balancing Trial Balances at the end of the month. - Full custodian for Accounts Payables for all entities. - Prepare all company month-end bank reconciliations on a timely basis. - Work closely with the Pharmacy Manager to ensure proper controls over inventory. - Calculation and preparation of annual tax returns to statutory bodies by the due date. - Responsible for all Payroll duties - accurate calculations and timely payment to employees and contracted workers. - Liaison with LivHealth's Financial Operations Manager, to ensure proper management of company finances . How many of you know a centenarian? Can you imagine living for ONE HUNDRED YEARS or more? As we get older, our bodies start to weaken, but centenarians who live to be 100 years old (or more) seem to defy this trend! After 3 years of caring for one of our very special centenarians (yes we have a few), we would like to take a moment to mention the privilege it has been to be at her side until the moment heaven welcomed another angel at 103 years old.
