Arrow First Look: Katherine McNamara Gets Punchy as Street Fighter Maya
Katherine McNamara officially enters the Arrow ring — or cage, as it may be — in TVLine’s first, exclusive photo from her debut on the CW series.
As TVLine previously reported, the Shadowhunters star will fill a pivotal Season 7 role as Maya, a scrappy street fighter and thief from Star City. The initial — and unofficial — casting notice for the character, who first appears in the Monday, Dec. 3 episode, titled “Unmasked,” likened her to “Buffy the Superhero Slayer.” Check out the full photo below, of Maya getting ready to slug it out with a brute.

Elsewhere in Monday’s episode, Felicity stands by her recent decisions regarding her family, while Diggle and Lyla continue to look into the Dante painting that Curtis found.
In addition to her run as human/angel hybrid Clary Fray on Freeform’s Shadowhunters (which will premiere its very final batch of episodes on Feb. 25), McNamara’s previous TV credits include The Fosters, MTV’s Happyland miniseries, Kickin’ It and Unforgettable (where she played a young Poppy Montgomery). On the big screen, she reprised her role of Sonya in the third installment of The Maze Runner trilogy, Maze Runner: The Death Cure, which opened earlier this year.

She very well could be Oliver and Felicitys Daughter in the Flashforward. KM looks like she could be related to them

She’s too old for that. Felicity would have to become pregnant almost immediately and I don’t see the writers boxing themselves into that corner.
The character is like 18 to 20 years old. Felicity wouldn’t have to get pregnant until the final season as the Flashforwards are 20 years later
Right, she could conceivably play an 18 year old. Maybe, but it makes much more sense to introduce Oliver’s half sister from the conics. Just tweak the story a bit because there’s no way that Shado would be her mother. It was only a matter of time before Emiko was added to Arrow.
Or could be Oliver and Laurel’s daughter from the future. A lot can happen in 30 years LOL. I still think she’s the new Green Arrow.
i think maya could be laurel’s daughter with roy. they could end up having a one night stand this season and laurel’s learn she’s pregnant but she choses to not tell roy until he learns about her many years later in the future!

Unlikely, because the flashforwards are set 20 years in the future, and this character is around that age, not significantly younger, which would mean Oliver would have to knock E2 Laurel up pretty soon in the present day and yeah…that’s not happening, firstly because he can’t stand her, and – more importantly – he’s married to someone else! If she IS Oliver’s daughter, it’s obviously most likely that her mother is Felicity.
Of course that’s what these shows need. More women that laughably kick every man’s posterior.

Hey man…who deemed anyone inferior? If anythings inferior it’s the endless TV shows that have these modern day women looking like they’re fighting machines that can pound any man to pieces. It’s a joke and been going on for about the last 5 years and has now become the laughable norm. And they do it ALL without a makeup smudge!
CW actually has a knack for dumbing down there primary Heroes and placing the subplot characters on the high pedestal.
The constant “girl power, #metoo, LGBTQ”themes in all these watered down alleged hero shows are the constant annoyances.
Whatever happened to just fun superhero kicking a$$?
Why is there such a need to turn all these classic heroes into 21st century emo types and seemingly be subservient to the female gender?
Every one of these shows has that “boo hoo hoo”, Cry Me a River theme.
Is comprable to watching a modern-day reality show complete with redundant relationship issues irrelevant to fighting bad guys… I mean after all it is supposed to be a superhero show isn’t it?

Sure they can beat guys up. When their 90, when their not looking and get clubbed in the head with a bat or when all these TV shows and their carefully choreographed scenes make they look like they can. Woman are a joke on these shows and they portray them being at some laughable level of competence that makes Army personnel look like wimps. Hollywood=Fake!!

Did they confirm that she isn’t Mia Dearden? I know this was apparently Moira’s maiden name? Maybe a relation? Just a thought.
Probably unlikely. Thea went by Mia on Corto Maltese and her middle name is Dearden. Then again, Dinah Laurel Lance and Dinah Drake are just two unrelated women who happen to have the same very popular first name, so it’s not impossible for multiple Mia Deardens to exist.
Literally the only way to ruin her character is having her be Oliver and Felicity’s kid. The shippers nearly killed this show

No kidding. Good way to have your whole fingernail ripped off. Also, for anything that actually has rules and a referee, they check your nails before you get in the cage and will cut them right there if they are too long. No chick fighter has a manicure.
She will be the new green arrow in the present…and related to the team.

It is not their child. We’ve seen Wild Dog help her and Dinah was still a cop going after the new Green Arrow. It is definitely taking place in the present day.

I was wondering if should could be the other Arrow as the ep is called unmasked.
I originally figured it was Thea. Although, no longer on the show, they could have went that way with a stunt double and maybe in a single guest appearance reveal it to be Thea/Speedy.
