BH90210‘s spousal group continues to expand: Ivan Sergei (Jack & Jill, Crossing Jordan) will recur in the Fox event series as the husband of Tori Spelling’s character, our sister site Deadline reports.
Sergei’s Nate is an ex-hockey player who wants to be a professional sports announcer. The actor joins fellow fictional significant others La La Anthony (Power) and Vanessa Lachey (Truth Be Told), who will play the wives of Brian Austin Green and Jason Priestley’s characters, respectively.
As previously reported, BH90210 — premiering Wednesday, Aug. 7 at 9/8c — will reunite original cast members Spelling, Priestley, Green, Jennie Garth, Ian Ziering, Gabrielle Carteris and Shannen Doherty, all of whom will play exaggerated versions of themselves, with stories “inspired by their real lives and relationships.” When one of the cast members suggests getting a Beverly Hills, 90210 reboot off the ground, the group finds that “getting it going may make for an even more delicious soap than the reboot itself.”

I figured Tori’s real hubby Dean would do it…
Pastor Jeff is amusing, but I think the character is better suited as a recurring character.
yes I concur with that. Having just finished season 2, I am now wondering if the Veronica girl which has been recurring all season ends up being one of the many ex-wives of George Cooper Jr in later time? Like, I am thinking that she might have been the one which Sheldon mentioned texted her upon his nobel prize news.
I believe it’s their way of keeping him available for the show at all times, even if he may not show up every episode. The Big Bang Theory did this with Kevin Sussman (Stuart) for multiple seasons and then with Laura Spencer (Emily, Raj’s GF and then ex) during Season 9.
Tori Spelling starred with Ivan in Mother, May I Sleep with Danger in the 90s. That’s really full circle!
And wasn’t he in Charmed as well?
Yep, he was in the last season of Charmed.
Thank you for mentioning this. I was disappointed that the writer of the article did not.
Why is the reboot hiring so many new characters that aren’t even representative of the current situations of the actors involved? The concept for the show does not sound good at all. #NotMy90210
I guess Donna and David got a divorce? What happened to their daughter Ruby?
The OG cast are playing fictional versions of their real life selves so this is not a true continuation of the series.
better looking than her real hubby. will he be a cheater too?
Very surprised at the YS promotion. When I saw the tease in the article title I figured it would be Wallace Shawn. We’ve seen him way more than the guy who was promoted (and his character is a bit more connected to Sheldon).
I got the feeling from the last episode that we’ve seen the last of Wallace Shawn. He seemed to be headed for an institution.
Yay! Letterkenny is coming back this fall!
Pitter patter.
Yeah, it would have been fun to see Tori’s RL hubby Dean McDermott in a heightened and lightly fictionalized version of his cheating and sex addiction troubles. (But also maybe a bit uncomfortable for him to relive, so him taking a pass here is understandable.)
But, oof, with none of the RL spouses involved, it’s creeping further and further away from a mere “lightly” fictionalized, isn’t it? Like, maybe it should just be a show about the stars of a (fictional) show that’s a parody of 90210, and gone meta by casting the 90210 stars?
