The actor who plays a beloved Yellowstone ranch hand won’t be alongside his co-stars when they attend this year’s Screen Actors Guild Awards.
Forrie J. Smith, who plays Lloyd on the Paramount Network series, recently posted a video to his Instagram account announcing that he would not be at the ceremony because it requires attendees to show proof of having been received the COVID vaccine.
After apologizing for his absence, Smith said, “I’m not vaccinated, I will not get vaccinated. I haven’t been vaccinated since I was a little kid. I don’t vaccinate my dogs, I don’t vaccinate my horses. I’ve never had a flu shot. I never will. I believe they compromise your immunities.”
He later added, “It’s just my beliefs. I just don’t believe in that stuff. Whatever.”

The Yellowstone cast is nominated for Best Drama Ensemble at this year’s awards, which will be simulcast live on TNT and TBS on Sunday, Feb. 27, at 8/7c. (See a list of TV nominees here.)
In Season 4 of Yellowstone, Lloyd’s flirtation with much-younger woman Laramie went so belly up that the veteran ranch hand wound up stabbing romantic rival rival Walker (and, for good measure, smashing his blasted guitar). He was ultimately allowed to continue on the payroll only after receiving a beat-down from surrogate son Rip.
Just curious…anyone watch all of the unmasked (and possibly unvaxxed) people at the SuperBowl over the weekend?? Just saying. Move on people…
Those attending the game were required to show proof of vaccination or a negative test within the past 48 hours. The stadium only offered contactless payments on game day and took other measures. It usually better not to speculate, especially when the info is readily available.
.
By the way, The stadium did require masks unless eating or drinking and free kn95 masks were handed out. Some folks didn’t comply with the masks…and I guess with the volume of folks in the stadium they didn’t enforce it.
Why is he allowed in Zone A?
Season 4 filmed pre vaccine. Given the nature of the show, Sheridan set up a massive “bubble” for all involved. He’s one of like 10 people who are all part of the same group. If they don’t have covid, and then they don’t leave that zone, you’re pretty good I have to admit
Your country is the laughing stock of the world.
Rabies is 100% fatal…do not care about his selfish self but his poor dogs…and if his dogs give it to a kid….its a hellish way to go…this folksy attitude is ok until I read about not giving his dogs shots….arrest him cops do your duty…oh wait rich and famous
The like, 13th billed actor on a cable show isn’t rich. And as for famous, I’ve watched every episode of Yellowstone and didn’t know the guy’s real name until this article
I guess we found the next train passenger.
This is one of my favorite websites to check out daily – thank god so many infectious disease and vaccination experts also enjoy this site and are using this platform to share their vast knowledge of these subjects! I’m blessed to be in the presence of folks who have been to medical school and have the credentials to discuss such topics. I bet they have changed the opinions of hundreds on here and on social media… becoming unsung heroes in the process, saving many lives.
One more reason to love this actor! Good for him …
Good for you, buddy. So many people think that getting vaccinated is a magic bullet. First, that you couldn’t get Covid. (obviously, not true) Or that you wouldn’t get really sick and die from Covid. (also, obviously not true) The people who believe in the mandate just keep moving the goalposts. By the way, if you’re wearing a mask and are vaccinated, what do you care what other people are doing? You should be safe, right?
I dunno, my spouse is a high risk patient. He is vaccinated and got a booster. He had a break through case about three weeks ago. Felt like a mild cold that lasted two days. My teen and I, living in the same small house and also vaccinated and boosted, never got sick and tested negative. I hear a lot more stories like ours, than whoever you are referring to in the “obviously not true” camps. Statistically, the vast majority of hospitalizations and deaths at this stage are among the unvaccinated. That said, I don’t care if you get the shot or not. I think it stinks you put others at risk – those with compromised immune systems who rely on widespread vax rates. But, if you want to take the risk on for you, whatever. And I think if you make that choice during a pandemic, you do so knowing there maybe things you won’t be able to do in the short term or you may only be able to go if you take a test and wear a mask.
He’s my hero!
Another idiotic scumbag who wants to ‘cut off his nose to spite his face.’
who cares if he goes or not?
Good for him!
I respect his decision as well as all of you who chose to take the vax. So quit with the name calling already.
Fire his A$$!
What a fool! I am not the least bit surprised as Idiot Wind blows from north to south to east and west…
I love how he doesn’t comply like the stupid sheep out there. It’s like if Gavin Newsome says “Jump off a cliff” they will all do it, but not strong minded guys like this guy. He has more intelligence and kahuna’s then most people these days, sad enough. God bless Forrie Smith. I’m the same way, and would do the same this guy has done.
