There will be a new firefighter sliding down the pole at Firehouse 51: Chicago Fire has added newcomer Michael Bradway to its Season 12 cast, our sister site Deadline reports, just days after cast member Rome Flynn left the NBC series.
Bradway will be making his TV debut as Jack Damon, a charming firefighter who will first appear in the current Season 12’s tenth episode. (Chicago Fire is already renewed for Season 13.) He’ll recur at first, with a possible promotion to series regular next season. Bradway, who also works as a model, has just a few short films on his acting résumé so far.
The news comes after Rome Flynn, who played firefighter Derrick Gibson on the NBC drama, exited the series after just six episodes. (In the March 27 episode, Gibson began experiencing withdrawal from prescription drugs and left the firehouse to seek treatment.) Flynn told our sister site Variety that it wasn’t his choice to leave the show: “Just like all the fans, I was sad to see Gibson leave. He was a character I very much enjoyed playing. I had a wonderful experience during my time on Chicago Fire and have great respect for the cast and crew and hope to team up with Dick Wolf again when the time is right.”
That wasn’t the only recent staffing change at Chicago Fire: Alberto Rosende, who played firefighter Blake Gallo, departed in the Season 12 premiere, and Kara Killmer said goodbye in February after 10 seasons as paramedic Sylvie Brett. To fill the void, Jocelyn Hudon (When Hope Calls) is joining the cast this season as a new paramedic.
His looks and his character name both being similar-ish to Grey Damon (Jack) from Station 19 is kinda hilarious.
I was thinking the same!
I hope if he really is charming they don’t kill him off. I remember how sad I was when they killed off Jimmy Nicholas’s character & I think its a shame he’s not booking enough roles given how charismatic he is.
I wish they would stop changing characters..I am not a fan of this new paramedic. I hope Chicago Med,Chicago fire, and Chicago PD will never be cancelled cause i really enjoy them
We would like Casey and Sylvia and Kelly to be on Chicago fire. That’s why I started watching it in the first place
It just seems like every week someone leaves or their is some new romance when is Taylor Kinney going on his next journey how about back to normalcy
Would rather have Rome Flynn back as Gibson. Bad call
Rome Flynn was a good actor and a much needed person to add more diversity to the show. Disappointed in the decision the show made.
Rome Flynn was great. I don’t know why he was let go. All the changes drive me crazy
Another person of color replaced by a white male. Why not cast Kylie? We need more female chadracters on the show especially as FF
What about Jake Lockett? His character, Sam Carver, has been prominently featured in the show’s major storylines for almost two seasons but his billing continues to be listed as fifth or sixth ‘guest star’. When is this spectacularly handsome and talented actor, who brings so much edge and dynamics to “Chicago Fire’, going to be elevated to star billing on the show and why has this not happened already?
Maybe he’s the long lost son a firefighter doesn’t know about
I think it is Severride’s son, most likely fathered when he was in high school.
