Three prominent Salem residents are putting the soapy locale in their rearview mirrors.
Lindsay Arnold, who has portrayed Sweet Bits co-owner Allie Horton on Days of Our Lives since 2020, has finished filming her run on the Peacock drama, according to Soap Opera Digest. It’s not yet known when her final episodes will air.
And Arnold isn’t the only Days star crafting an exit strategy. The magazine also reports that both halves of supercouple #WilSon — that’d be Will Horton (Chandler Massey) and Sonny Kiriakis (Zach Tinker) — will leave town sometime during next week’s run of episodes.
Days of Our Lives streams weekdays at 6 am on Peacock.

Which of today’s TVLine Items pique your interest?
I wish the Days writers could figure out how to create relationship drama without using drugs/alcohol and/or infidelity. Yes, all that happens, but with the way it happens on soaps and especially Days, I wouldn’t trust a single person in that town for anything. I actually enjoyed Allie’s character but think they had some hits and some misses with her storylines. I’ll miss Will and Sonny and while I love Chandler and Zach, I think we should give them a rest and look at recasting if they want to be back on-screen full-time and the actors have other commitments or the show can’t pay them what they ask for. I’m really hoping the show is going to get turned up to an eleven over the next few weeks because I’m getting pretty bored. I don’t know if I’d renew Peacock just for Days when it comes time to give them more money. Ultimately, I think a writer change is what we need, but I worry that sort of thing might cause TPTB to just cancel it.
A new head writer for Days is much needed as Ron Carlivati been there since 2017. In years past Days would change writers every few years to keep story lines and casts fresh. For some reason Ken Corday doesn’t want to fire Ron. KC might think he can’t find a younger better head writer and the good ones are dead or retired or Peacock might cancel the show because viewership is down and fans are criticizing the storylines right now. It’s worth the risk as they need to write off certain characters and create more realistic, action packed stories.
I was hoping days was going to get cancelled after Christmas and not make the move to peacock.
Will and Sonny have been a revolving door for awhile now. They come and go all the time. As for Allie, the character never really grew on me. Poor writing I guess. But she’s always been very blah unlike her twin, Johnny. He’s a lot more mature than his sister.
I feel the same way about Allie – she’s blah & an judgy obnoxious little snip, who thinks she’s better than everyone else. I’m thrilled she’s leaving. Chanel is adorable & can do better [female or male].
I will very much miss Will & Sonny. I know Chandler has a “day job”, which accounts for his comings & goings but I wish they’d keep Sonny around. He’s a great guy & fun to watch.
I think Zach wanted too much money. And given he’s gotten guest spots on Big Sky, CSI and now recurring on Fire Country, he probably was right to want out. He’s also someone whose family has connections given his grandfather was the late executive Grant Tinker and his uncle Mark has been a producer on shows like St Elsewhere, NYPD Blue, Deadwood, Private Practice, Chicago PD and American Gods. Which I adored him in the role so I am sad about, and I really liked Chandler too, but maybe they can cast actual gay actors if they bring the couple back.
Me too. Nothing against the actress but Allie came off bland , unlikable, and judgemental but I blame RC writing for that. Plus her relationship with Chanel was SO forced. Chanel and Johnny have WAY better chemistry and consider them a DAYS counterpart to Spencer and Trina for GH. Plus my dislike of Allie intensified after her and Claire helped the Necktie Killer, who murdered three women and “killed” Will, abduct Ciara from her wedding to Theo. She thought a serial killer was better than a black autistic childhood friend who never hurt Ciara.
When does Days of Our Lives cross over from shows recorded for NBC to shows recorded for Peacock? They had shot so far in advance before NBC moved the show to Peacock, I’m wondering if we will see a tonal shift when the episodes are produced exclusively for Peacock, and not for daytime network TV. Likely to see more adult language, as in one of the recent DOOL specials on Peacock, but what else? More skin? Longer episode run-times? Or shorter? Curious what we’ll see for the episodes that come after the planned NBC daytime run …

Right about now are the episodes that were recorded knowing they would air on Peacock. However, they were likely written several weeks before they were produced. Already the editors have been completing episodes longer than the NBC requirement of 37 minutes. Some have been as long as 45 minutes, and a few have actually been shorter than 37 minutes. Every day is different.
It’s too bad Zach Tinker will be leaving Days. I thought he was a great recast for Sonny. Really hoping he’ll be back for Victor’s eventual funeral, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Days has yet another actor playing Sonny.
.
Zach has been in a lot of primetime TV lately, so good for him, but I’ll miss him.
What it boils down to is the head writer makes more money with the creation of more characters they create. Allie and Tripp, I think will always be Lumi in disguise they just didn’t have the writers to fall through with their story. So Allie’s out and Jada’s new sister, Talia, is in!
As for Sonny and Will, Massey couldn’t give his full time job up on the chances DAYS wouldn’t give him back the certainty of full time in return. Zinker was put on reoccurring but with his new role on Fire Country he more than likely will not be returning unless it would be for short visits. I would think Zinker would return for Victor’s funeral and then again it’s DAYS…..
Lindsay Arnold was not at the Day of Days in November which made me think her exit was imminent. But Zach Tinker was there so I’m hoping that means he won’t be gone for long. The show is better with Sonny around, and I like having Sonny to bounce off Alex.
Also, since we’re talking Days, Sloane has grown on me SO much since her intro. She and Eric have actual chemistry. I hope she’s sticking around, but I don’t think she was at the Day of Days either.
Sloan is the one I’d pay to leave!
Exactly. Sloan is another example of head writer Ron Carlivati white washing a character. She blackmailed Paulina and abused her power to throw Chanel a black woman in jail for defense against Sloan’s sexual predator father. Now they giving her a forced redemption by pairing her with Eric and coming between him and Nicole.
Sloan is a fun addition who has grown on me also, and I agree she has some chemistry with Eric. As for Zach, he’s recurring on Fire Country right now and probably auditioning for primetime pilots for next season (unless CF offers to keep him around longer if they don’t go where I think they’re going with a storyline and manage to surprise).
That event happened before Sloan and Eric were paired. I don’t know that it has any impact on story lines, but Ericole were paired at that event and I expect that eventually they will get back together. Ejole and Sleric will need to play out first.
Hoping to see alot more of Chandler Massey and Zach Tinker in other roles. Both actors definitely need to make a permanent break with Days (as does wonderful Alison Sweeney.) These actors deserve so much better than this horrid daytime soap! I am very grateful that Alison was instrumental in encouraging Hallmark to bring Chandler into their fold. They should no longer feel any allegiance to Days. The soap can sink or swim all on its own!
I don’t think the writers have done a good job with Allie. They need to reassess and then bring her back when they can do it better. They’re trying to do too much drama and shock factor. She went from victim to survivor to cheater to maturing to repeat cheater and back to being childish. They’re trying too hard to make her a toxic mix of her parents. She can’t have an easy storyline for more than a month. But like Will and Sonny, I don’t think she will be off the show for good. Eventually they’ll be back.
The writers absolutely messed up the character of Allie. And it’s too bad, because Lindsay Arnold is a very good actress.
I wish they would bring back the original Jennifer on Days of our Lives. This current actress is boring.
And I wish they would go somewhere with the storyline of Doc, Kayla and Kate in “heaven”. The storylines are not that good on Peacock and we have to pay to watch it.
I’be been a viewer for over 40 years and am sadly disappointed.
