Did you feel that chill in the air? Yes, Frasier fans, the most terrifying agent on television is back.
Harriet Sansom Harris will reprise her role as unscrupulous agent Bebe Glazer in Season 2 of Paramount+’s Frasier revival, TVLine has confirmed. Also joining Season 2 in a guest role is Rachel Bloom (Crazy Ex-Girlfriend), who will play Bebe’s daughter Phoebe Glazer. (Our sister site Variety first reported the news.)
“One of the show’s most iconic characters,” Bebe Glazer is “known for her dramatic flair and outrageous Machiavellian maneuvers,” per the show’s official description, and “will stop at nothing to get what she wants.” Phoebe, meanwhile, has “inherited her mother’s indomitable charm” and “boasts a magnetic personality as well as a taste for the finer things.”
Harris appeared in 11 episodes of Frasier’s original run as Frasier’s agent Bebe, who was never afraid to lie, cheat and steal to gain the slightest advantage in negotiations for her client. The Tony-winning actress is also known for her roles on Desperate Housewives and American Horror Story; she currently plays Shelly Sterling’s friend Justine on the Hulu basketball docudrama Clipped.
Harris is the latest Frasier alum joining the revival for its second season: Peri Gilpin will recur as Frasier’s former radio colleague Roz following a Season 1 guest appearance, and Dan Butler and Edward Hibbert will return as Bob “Bulldog” Briscoe and Gil Chesterton. Plus, Emmy winner Patricia Heaton (Everybody Loves Raymond) will join the cast as Boston bartender Holly, a potential new love interest for Frasier.
Sansom Harris and Bloom could be a very interesting combo. I’m intrigued.
Rachel can definitely match her in craziness for sure.
The situation is a lot more nuanced than that
I see what you did there, and I approve.
Yeah, that’s spot on casting. I can see it. Will be fun to see Bebe again, and how she is with her daughter.
I was hoping she would guest star!!! This is going to be fun!!
So I suppose that means she’s not playing the queen in the Broadway revival of Once Upon a Mattress like she did at Encores.
I’m sure “Frasier” will have wrapped long before then.
I rewatch the original series regularly but skip any episode she is in. She’s WAY too annoying.
OMG. Rachel Bloom as Bebe’s daughter is perfect casting!
And any chance to see the divine Harriet Sansom Harris is a welcome one.
Amazing! She was my favourite recurring character as a kid. This season sounds packed – wondering at this point if it will have more episodes than the first season.
Wow, that is great news. She was perfect in Frasier. Remember Frasier’s line “She has no scruples, no ethics, and no reflection.” Classic.
When Daphne said she can quit smoking anytime. Bebe: “You know there’s a word for people who can do that… what is it? Oh yes – bitch!”
She was one of my favorite recurring characters on the original run. I’m surprised she never received an Emmy nom for her work, she was excellent.
I am so here for this and Rachel Bloom playing her daughter.
For those that have watched all of Crazy Ex Girlfriend, she WILL pull it off.
Love her! Bebe!!
She was great in every episode she appeared but the one she was top notched was Season 10/episode 21 ‘The Devil and Doctor Phil’. When Frasier goes to her hotel room 666 , the music from the choir championship, the red lights from outside and steam coming out of the bathroom/bedroom. Fraiser running for his life because he can’t sell his “soul”. Pure Perfection!! To quote Nile: “Lady MacBeth without the sincerity” 😈
11 eps, and I feel like she crushed every one she was in. Can’t wait to see her and her daughter!
Bebe is a great guest star! Her annual guest roles on Fraiser are legend!!!
Love Bebe and Harris
I always thought Bebe Glazer was one of the best sitcom characters ever created. My favorite episode had Bebe planning to marry a rich old geezer but he died on the wedding day. So she tried to hold him up and make it look like we was walking down the aisle with her so they could “marry” and she’d become an instant rich widow.
Yike! BEBE is back.
I still laugh at the big daddy episode.
Harriett, your episodes will always be in
my top ten of best laughs!
Looking forward to your return.
