The Voice Shakeup: Gwen Stefani Out, Nick Jonas In for Season 20
Just weeks after announcing their engagement, Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani are taking some time apart… from competing against one another on The Voice, at least.
Stefani, currently a Season 19 Voice coach alongside Shelton, John Legend and Kelly Clarkson, will vacate her chair for the NBC competition show’s upcoming 20th season — and pass it down to returning coach Nick Jonas.
Jonas previously served as a coach for The Voice‘s 18th season — one of his team members, Thunderstorm Artis, made it all the way to the finals — before leaving his spot open for Stefani’s return in Season 19. When the show returns for Season 20 in spring 2021, Jonas will coach alongside returning artists Shelton, John Legend and Kelly Clarkson.
The Voice wrapped its Season 19 Battles on Monday, with most TVLine readers picking Marisa Corvo, Ryan Gallagher and Larriah Jackson as the most impressive singers of the bunch. The Voice also picked up the People’s Choice Award for Competition Show of 2020 on Sunday, beating out reality juggernauts like The Bachelor, The Masker Singer and RuPaul’s Drag Race.

I think the perfect new coach would be Darius Rucker, he could take country artists from Blake, he would here the rock and pop artists as well, then replace Kelly either Adele or Pink if they would do it.

I like Stefani, but l don’t care for fake and she looks fake (Barbie doll type). If it wasn’t for my being such a Blake fan, l would care if Stefani came back. I like Nick Jonas a lot more, his helpful comments to contestants and his great sence of humor.

I like Nick Jonas. I thought he did great when he was on. Never cared to watch Gwen.
NO WAY! KELLY is AWSOME, bite your tongue Daniel. She is a great artist/singer, she is funny and adds a little fun to the show and she certainly knows what she is doing and can pick out great contestants and mentor them, she is one of the BEST female singers

I will miss Gwen, I love the dynamic of the 4 on the show now. Nick Jonas is great too, I’d like to see him replace John Legend. John has a gorgeous voice but no personality. Just my opinion.

What in the hell gives you the right to make such disparaging comments about Adam Levine? He and his beautiful wife are friends with Blake and Bwen. and the “fove-fake-hate” relationship between Adam and Blake made for a more interesting element of humor that kept me eager to watch each season. Nothing against Nick OR Gwen.
Hate to break it to ya but Adam isn’t coming back anytime soon he wants to be with his family.

Ok…where do I start? Nick fit in perfectly! He made jokes and got great artists! He also had great song choices for his artists (unlike some coaches). Additionally, your family is biased. A family is usually raised on the same type of music, so no wonder you all agree!! Does Nick not have the voice of an angel? I don’t think anyone could say that he doesn’t!! Plus, when on the show would you have a 10 minute conversation? The show is only 1-2 hours. My star-studded roster of coaches would be Jonas, Darius, Adele, and Julia Michaels/Charlie Puth.

I’ve watched only one full season of the Voice. Nick’s season.
Might be because of the pandemic and there was little else to watch, but mostly it was because of Nick.
Happy he is coming back.
I have loved the Voice since Season one. I love the variety of the different coaches. Every one different and fun. Just have fun with it people.

I will miss Stephanie dearly cause she makes everything fun of what I have seen. I am sure Blake will miss her there too. I like seeing the love they share and it shows. I think that Jonas will do a good job.

Julia Michaels NEEDS to be a coach. She has written songs for almost everyone! She knows her way around music and she could shine on The Voice. It would be an easy trade off. Julia can replace John. He’s too involved in politics, and, in my opinion, has his glory days behind him.
I hate to see Gwen go. I think she and Blake make the show fun. Alone with Kelley and John.

Dear Voice. Please do not bring Jonas back !!! He is not good for the show. He is a MISFIT, BOARING, DULL, and not a team player. He just doesn’t fit in with the rest of the team. PLEASE, I beg you. It’s not just me, my entire family and friends Coast to Coast hate this Dumb Boaring person. I recommend Jill Scott, she can sing with the best of them, and has a voice of an angel, and can hold a decent long conversation with other people,and gas a Great personality. Jonas is unable to sing, can’t hold even a short conversation with others, has NO personality

You and your family aren’t the only ones who watch The Voice. Nick is funny, charming and hugely popular around the world! Gwen has had many seasons, she has not won once plus watching the Blake and Gwen show has zero to do with music. Nick is a welcome change.
To me this and the Idol are more about the judges than new talent. I don’t watch either on a regular basis. I tune in if nothing is on or if I can’t find something on Netflix. Never liked Blake on Voice or Katy on Idol.

Jonas IS dull and boring. I also like Alisha Keys! She has taste and talent and personality. No Adam Levine either. Pharell was good too.
How about getting a 70’sor80’s rock band member as a coach? Steven Tyler? Joe Elliott? Steve Perry? John Mellencamp?
Kim, I’ll tell you why they song do that. They were popular in the ’70s and ’80s, key word: WERE! Plus, few who would listen to that type of music would watch The Voice. They want to add coaches who will make the reviews go up.
Gwen ,and Blake Shelton, was a shock ,at first.took some getting used to. but Now I Aprove so very much. they even sing great together…and it is fun seeing their interactions n lovingly joking the way they do, on the show…they even look great together in every video or picture , I’ve seen of them together .I love the fact that , Yes the love shows .they look like 2 very happy people.. and I am a huge fan of them both.. I am so very happy for them n wish them both a lifetime of love N happiness.. and I Loved the season 18 with Nick Jonas, He fits in so well with everyone there, and Judging by way he is when You see him, He looks like a very happy guy n like He’s very happy . he seems like a very nice person to know or to have as a friend…

Years ago, I saw her on a singing show called Duets (coincidentally with John Legend and Kelly Clarkson) and she was awesome!
That ‘Duets’ show was awesome and so was Jennifer Nettles..she won with that awesome JRome! She would be great.

I like Gwen but I’m okay with her taking another break. Thrilled that Nick will be back. I’m 53 but I have been a Jonas Bros fan since the beginning. LOL I’m not sure who I’d like to see as a coach but some others have made some good suggestions, like Jennifer Nettles and Dolly Parton.
