We’ve got questions, and you’ve (maybe) got answers! With another week of TV gone by, we’re lobbing queries left and right about lotsa shows including Grey’s Anatomy, Fire Country, Ghosts, The Cleaning Lady and NCIS: Hawai’i!
1 | Has it dawned on anyone else that between Billy Burke and now Jason O’Mara, Fire Country has cast two of The Closer’s nastiest recurring villains? ▼ Also, can we talk about the battery life of the drone that Liam had hovering above Sharon’s rig from daylight into night…?
2 | How hard did that extended, heavy silence hit you, when Blue Bloods’ Frank learned that Lenny Ross, played by the late Treat Williams, had died? And who else is sad to see Jamie lose his undercover look? (He was finally looking older than his nephew Joe!)
3 | Can we all agree that Ego Nwodim delivered the funniest line during Sydney Sweeney’s episode of Saturday Night Live? #IYKYK
4 | Didn’t Curb Your Enthusiasm’s storyline about Larry trying to date Sienna Miller remind you of the Seinfeld when George tried to date Marisa Tomei despite being engaged to Susan?
5 | The Way Home fans, were you surprised that the show already caught up to the White Witch reveal from last season’s finale?
6 | When Tracker’s Reenie told her friend Erika that Colter is a tracker, was Erika just… automatically supposed to know what that meant? And doesn’t Colter prefer the term rewardist?
7 | What was with all the Joey Bishop shade on CSI: Vegas…? And for you longtime CSI franchise fans, did this episode bring to mind the 2012 episode involving (alive!) Rat Pack impersonators?
8 | Is anyone else watching The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live afraid that Rick and Jadis’ “long-standing agreement” has made them enemies with benefits? And did Episode 2’s caravan, plus the department store hideout, give anyone else Station Eleven vibes? ▼
9 | How much did ABC’s schedulers groan when their Disney+ peers decided to move up the Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour movie to premiere Thursday, March 14 at 9/8c — opposite the long-delayed season premieres of Grey’s Anatomy and Station 19?
10 | Throughout Monday’s back-to-back episodes of Bob Hearts Abishola, amid talk of possibly having a baby and moving to Chicago to avoid Detroit-bound Tayo, were you surprised that the subject of Abishola’s med school acceptance in Baltimore never came up? The EPs told us they’d circle back to it later in Season 5, but still!
11 | Watching NCIS: Hawai’i, how long did it take you to realize that the submarine story Sam was telling Kai and Lucy was from NCIS: Los Angeles Season 6’s “Deep Trouble Part II”? Were you half-expecting Sam to tell a disbelieving Jesse, “You can watch it in Paramount+”?
12 | Is there anything sadder than the Deal or No Deal Island promo touting it as “the greatest game show” — a quote that is attributed to… no one in particular? (Fun fact: Reality Blurred investigated the sus source.)
13 | Which Lockerbie limited series — the Netflix/BBC original starring Suits‘ Patrick J. Adams, or the Peacock/Sky original starring Colin Firth — will blink and change its title?
14 | If The Cleaning Lady‘s Thony was being held captive and Chris was in Manila, then who the heck was watching Luca? Maybe Child Protective Services is right to be paying Thony a visit?
15 | Did you get choked up watching Will Trent get choked up after Isabella delivered her baby?
16 | With just 10 episodes this season, had you (wrongly) assumed The Rookie would forego any gimmick episode (à la John and Bailey’s “caught on video” honeymoon?)
17 | How could Extended Family have a Donald Faison dance sequence and not have him recreate the “Poison” dance from Scrubs? ▼
18 | Good Trouble fans, how bummed are you that we didn’t get Callie and Jamie’s wedding in the series finale (as showrunner Joanna Johnson originally envisioned ending the show with)?
19 | Given, you know, this, is it safe to assume Casey Wilson won’t be playing Tim Allen’s TV daughter in his ABC sitcom pilot?
20 | Is CBS concerned at all that their new daytime series The Gates might get confused with the 2010 ABC drama of the same name about a gated community of vampires, witches and werewolves? Or are they confident that no one remembers that show anyway?
21 | In the Love Is Blind finale, how diabolical was it for Clay to smile and nod when AD said, “I do” — and then immediately tell her he didn’t want to marry her?
22 | What were the odds that Family Guy’s Wednesday premiere was an episode that had a visual reference to the series airing on Sundays “after Bob’s Burgers!” Or, even with animation’s long lead time, did they somehow edit in that joke to be ironic?
23 | Sarah Chalke is many things, Animal Control, but a “Yasmine”…?
24 | Ghosts spoilers ahead! Ghosts spoilers ahead! If Flower is actually stuck in the well, then who got sucked off in the Season 2 finale? And do you think Carol will get sucked off in the next episode?
25 | So many spoilers for The Traitors finale ahead! We repeat, Traitors spoilers incoming! Which moment was more shocking, CT and Trishelle banishing Sandra at the last roundtable or Trishelle voting for CT at the fire of truth? Also, when Kate opted to end the game at the fire of truth ceremony, did she more or less out herself as the final traitor?
26 | Should Comedy Central have considered adjusting Jon Stewart’s schedule this week to have him go on live after Thursday’s State of the Union address? And who should play Alabama Sen. Katie Britt, who delivered the Republican response, on Saturday Night Live this weekend? Is the part Chloe Fineman’s to lose? Or should it go to a quirkier performer, like Sarah Sherman?
27 | Hey, remember when the Lizzie McGuire revival was deemed too mature for Disney+? And now… ▼

Yeah, Phillip Stroh and “Just Plain Billy” showing up together again was a flashback for sure, but at least they’re good guy now (not that they weren’t both excellent bad guys!). I actually think they play off each other very well and hope they keep them working together :)
Together again? They were never on the Closer together.
9. well it might not matter for some affiliates, in that time slot it seems they’re airing high school basketball (I have the North Dakota affiliates) which is disappointing I have to watch 911 on the Canadian feed
25 most shocking Traitors moment was voting out MJ, they were both horrible for that.
27 Lizzy ain’t getting Oscars though. Lol.
20) I will never forget ABC’s The Gates. I loved that show so much.
I remember watching it for Colton Haynes at the time. Sigh.
16. Nah, I think they wanted to do something different for Nolan and Bailey’s honeymoon. And plus, I figured in a traditional season. It was the perfect Halloween-esque type of episode.
24. A minor ghost probably got sucked off. Assuming that is what that was it was. The light could have been for some other reason. Only Sam and Jay saw the light. They would not know what it meant. Yeah, I assume ghost Carol and Pete will get closure. And she will be “sucked off” soon. Especially once Flower is able join the others.
Did Jay see it? If he did then it definitely wasn’t a ghost thing. He didn’t see when her mom got sucked off so he shouldn’t have been able to see it at the finale if that’s what it was
Jay never saw it. Sam gasped and turned to Jay and told him she thought a ghost just got sucked off
The Rookie is in a steep decline and won’t be renewed. Too bad.it was good for a few years.
It’s also possible that someone died on the property that we don’t know (a burglar? A workman? A lost guest?) and just went straight to heaven. We’ve never seen what that looks like from outside the house.
9 | I am sure ABC execs were extremely annoyed but their CEO Iger has said several times in past interviews that streaming is the future so I’m not shocked.
Maybe it’s just me, but how many people actually watch live TV anyway? In these days of DVR’s, even if you normally watched Grey’s live you could record it for later. Or you could use discipline and wait to watch Taylor’s movie since it’s not a one time only showing.
16: Regarding The Rookie, the first two episodes have been uber-cheesy with all the “if it can go wrong, it will go wrong” shenanigans. It all was very silly to me.
24: It will be nice to see Flower back (hopefully that is.)

Re 27, Lizzie McGuire, I had the same thought when they pulled in all of the mature MCU content. Or even She-Hulk (which I LOVED, not a diss to She-Hulk). I cannot imagine the Lizzie McGuire sequel was planning anything dirtier than She-Hulk.
I think the Lizzie no-go was more that higher ups didn’t want any whiff of sexualizing an originally wholesome character (madonna/wh*** dichotomy). I presume they wanted something along the lines of Girl Meets World or Raven’s Home (tbh I’ve not watched either) where the world/story is continued in a similar vein and age rating as the original to capture a new young audience and maybe also the prior (now adult) audience with hope that it inspires going back to watch the original.
Why they didn’t clarify what they wanted in plot tone and direction before (seemingly) being at ready for filming is baffling. I can overlook that they’ve changed their platform policies as Hulu shrinks and streaming competitors multiplied (side note – I miss the time when it seemed like Hulu had every broadcast network), but I think their overall handling and inability find a compromise for Lizzie to go forward were bad calls.
Maybe that’s why they gave the Wizards of Waverly Place reboot a green light. Because it’s probably going to be more PG like Raven’s Home.
Yeah, I can’t imagine getting to scripting, they had to of had the season ploted out, they shot like 3 episodes, scripts were made money was spent, this wasn’t a small aisle production disney had to be in the know before they got to this point.
I do remember “The Gates” and hope the soap comes up with a more original title, but it’s not like shows haven’t had the same name before (New Amsterdam as a somewhat recent example).

I don’t think Carol will be sucked off as soon as the next episode, but I do think she will be sucked off this season. And the only logical option for the ghost that was sucked off seems to be the basement ghost hottie that was with Prom Ghost, with the basement ghosts probably assuming he’s still up there but only she – being asleep again – was mentioned in the checking.
——-
There might be some overlap but the primary audience for the Taylor Swift concert probably watches Grey’s later on Netflix and not on ABC, the way ratings/trends are going.

Technically Poor Things is on the Hulu hub, but Disney+ definitely had plenty of double standard stuff going on. I remember my bro-in-law explaining to his young daughters about Boba Fett being a bounty hunter that killed for money and I’m just like, “You accept that Star Wars violence but freak out when there’s anything at all a little sexual?” (although his reaction is for the likes of Lizze reboot not happening or that they initially moved Love Victor to Hulu for similar reasons, before later having the latter on both …. for those who have not seen it, do NOT watch Poor Things with the kids around. Fantastic performance by Emma Stone but there is a lot of nudity among the violence/etc).
* “this reaction” not “his reaction” – I was referring to my own thoughts, not the bro-in-law again, but had a typo there.
Great questions! I thought the same thing on the Cleaning Lady
Re Billy Burke’s casting on “Fire Country” … I always get Diane Farr confused with look-alike Sarah Clarke, and wonder why Bella Swan’s parents got remarried.
Ramon Rodriguez should get Performer of the Week consideration for the Will Trent birthing scene alone. It had a touch of humor, drama and an emotional punch at the end — all of which he had to juggle while wondering if his partner was safe in tracking the shooter.
I agree. He did a fantastic job.
Totally agree. He always gives a good performance but the range of emotions he showed was astounding, and all so appropriate. With so many actors it would have looked faked or forced but not Rodriguez.👍
Yes, that scene made me cry. Ramon did a wonderful job. I don’t think we’ve seen Will cry before. So touching.
The Sam comment about Paramount+ just reminds me of the crappy fact that NCIS:LA is actually NOT on Paramount+. Thank goodness for my dvds. Guess I’ll have to start watching Hawaii to get my Sam fix 😁
I flipped through the comments to say the same thing. There is no streaming service that has the entire series of NCIS: Los Angeles free with a subscription. CBS really screwed up the syndication and streaming rights for this one series from the franchise.
i came here to say this. Even when LA was still on, only the current season is on paramount+. same for the FBIs. Only the current seasons of most wanted and international are on paramount, no previous seasons. But all seasons of the original are there. It’s so ridiculous.
It actually makes sense for FBIs because they are Dick Wolf/Universal productions. CBS is a co-producer but not enough to have the past seasons, which are on Peacock. They will probably never be on Paramount (beyond current seasons as they air) unless that rumored merger of services happens. NCIS: LA on the other hand is the result of deals made prior to Paramount+… I believe the 2009 deal with USA especially. I am not sure when it expires, though I imagine it will all stream on Paramount as soon as it does expire.
All 14 seasons of NCIS: LA are on my Paramount+ but I’m in Canada. In fact NCIS plus all the spinoffs are on there.
24. I hope Carol sticks around for a couple of episodes, and I’m certain we’ll eventually find out which ghost was sucked off. What I want to know is why can’t Flower get out of the well? She is a ghost after all. Maybe for the same reason they can walk through walls but don’t fall through the floor? Or that Flower maybe forgot she could get out since she is a ghost (which I could actually see)?
Despite the walk through wall things, we’ve seen this sort of things with the ghosts before. Elias was stuck in the vault that ghosts can’t penetrate, and Crash has not been able to just magically go find his head when separated. That said, the show perhaps isn’t the strictest about ghost rules. When they were describing the bear attack on Flower in the last episode, I kept thinking – given Crash’s head, Pete’s arrow, etc. – why didn’t her ghost have more obvious signs of a bear attack? Unless she first OD’d on drugs or something before the bear got too far into the attack.
My guess is she died from the scratch mark on her back and then after death the bear continued to maul and eat her
I actually did make The Closer connection. The Closer was a great show!
24. 100% it was the teenage boyfriend ghost. No one saw him only her in the attic and he probably got sucked off after they spend the night together.
The Rookie is just not good this season. Cheesy and poorly written.
Agree! The first two episodes were just silly, so much so that I haven’t even watched this week’s yet. I likely will, but I no longer rush to watch a new episode the way I have in previous seasons.
It’s a shame because the cast is great, but the writing seems to be going for over the top action or laughs. I’d grown to expect better.
16 >> Enough with the gimmicky Rookie episodes!!
The Way Home’s reveal of the White Witch I thought was great. No need to draw out these pieces of the plot.
26 – SNL needs to bring in Kristin Wiig to play Katie Britt. I can’t see anyone else playing her as dead-on as Kristin could.
I had the exact same thought. The rebuttal came across like an scenery-chewing, overdramatized SNL parody. My mind was seeing Kristen Wiig the whole time and I couldn’t take it at all seriously.
2. That was a hard episode to watch, just thinking about Treat.
7. YES!!!! “It Was a Very Good Year” is one of my favorite episodes because it was Greg-centric.
26) I was hoping for something better from Sen. Britt, but I said after it that she wrote SNL’s opening for them. They would make fun of her ANYWAY, because that’s who they are, but at least make them WORK for it!
And yes, the impression should go to a cast member, not be outsourced. Young comics work hard for their big break to even be in the cast… only to have the high-profile assignments go to people NOT on the show.
Here’s my question: Will The Gates appear on CBS or is it destined for Paramount Plus?
“The joint venture between CBS Studios and the NAACP is developing a new daytime drama for the CBS Television Network.”
》I’m just happy Patrick J Adams is on a new show because he’s a great actor. I love his film The Swear Jar.
》Don’t even bring up the Lizzie reboot because it triggers me. We (the fans) deserve that reboot and I was so excited for it. For some of us that was our childhood and there’s nothing like that nostalgia that takes you back. I’m still holding hope that they’ll come around eventually and just give in. #ThisIsWhatDreamsAreMadeOf
holy crap, Poor Things is on Disney+?!?
i watched it last night and… 😳
Poor Things is on Disney+ only with the Hulu bundle, because it is on Hulu. It is not on regular Disney+.
