Yellowstone fans thinking that cooler heads might ultimately prevail can go ahead and think again. Jamie is as likely to make peace with his adoptive father and sister as a horse is to fly.
“Kelly [Reilly] and I have always had this sort of secret hope that there would be some reconciliation, some love reconnection [between Beth and Jamie], or at least [some circumstance in which] they worked together in some way,” Wes Bentley told TVLine at the recent SCAD TVFest. But when they’ve mentioned the idea to series-co-creator Taylor Sheridan, “he’s just like ‘No, no, no. Hate, hate, hate.’ So I think that is kind of an indication of how this all wraps up maybe.”
Bentley was quick to note that “I don’t know anything.” However, given that the midseason finale left off with Jamie OK’ing lovergirl Sarah to order a hit on John and Beth, who in turn were plotting to hasten his demise, one needn’t have read future scripts to guess that the feud isn’t going to be resolved by a group hug. “I can’t imagine it ending like that,” Bentley said. “It’s sort of like that quote George [R.R.] Martin gave about Game of Thrones: ‘If you think this has a happy ending, you’re not paying attention.’”
Should Jamie be the one to meet his maker, Beth would live, sure — but she also might live to regret it. Shrewd as he is, Jamie could leave an “Open in case of my death” letter directing the authorities to “the train station” and enough dead bodies to send not only John but Beth’s husband Rip to prison for all eternity. Does Bentley suspect that Jamie might have considered that little bit of life insurance? “Absolutely,” he said. “Jamie’s a critical thinker, and critical thinkers are steps ahead.”
Ironically, it was Beth who pointed out the loaded weapon in Jamie’s hand. “He didn’t know for sure if he [had something on John until] he realized she truly didn’t even know about the train station. That’s a boon to his strategizing. He’s like, ‘This is what I needed.’” (With reporting by Kim Roots)
Who, if anyone, do you think will become a casualty of the John/Beth-vs.-Jamie war? Hit the comments with your answers.
There’s no way they kill off Beth. Maybe John with the Costner contract dispute but not death. I think Jamie is a goner by the end of this season.
In my opinion the only thing that annoys me about Yellowstone is the Jamie/Beth war. It’s been drug out way to long and I kind of get sick of her beating the h#ll out of him and him looking weak every time. He should in no way fear his sister physically, she does fight dirty but no man is going to continue to take that abuse. How about let him snap and fight back but instantly regret it. If he leaves any kind of mark on her then you get to see him be scared for his life from Rip or John. If you don’t do that just let the story die, this grudge has reached the point of child annoyance.
Doing what is best for Dutton ranch should be the main focus of the show. Jamie doesn’t have what it takes to run the ranch. He attempts to legally remove John as the owner. Jamie and John get in an argument that ends with John killing Jamie. During their fight, John gets critical injured. Rip and Beth are now running the ranch. Tribal Chairman Thomas Rainwater continues his effort to take or destroy the Dutton ranch. Rip and Beth keep fighting to retain the ranch. The rest of the series actors keep evolving around themselves a their ties to the ranch. Use flashbacks to remind watchers what has lead to the present threats to the ranch.
Dutton family love ❤️ … maybe John dies to save Beth… contract issues solved.
Beth the only thing she brings to the show is a glass of booze and a cigerate.
Well Beth, being the person she is, will probably have Jamie taken care of first. Or even, they’ll try and kill John and Beth, but I cant foresee anything happening to Beth, she makes the show. And as we seen, she’s on tuff cowgirl. She deffinately likes to ride ’em hard and put ’em away wet. Cant wait to whats next!
I can’t help it, but I root for Jamie.
In this war, I think there won’t be any winner. Like a real-life gunfight, no one wins, The best you can hope for is to survive.
I can see a path where Beth and Jamie both end up in prison. Don’t forget that Caroline Warner has threatened Beth with just that fate. I can also perhaps see Beth’s phone with that pic of Jamie lugging his daddy’s corps, falling into the hand of State or Federal law enforcement.
I can see a Dutton Family Enemy killing Jaime and framing Beth for the murder. 2 birds with 1 stone.
I can see Jamie’s hitman mistakenly kills Summer, thinking it’s Beth, since she is forced to stay at the house.
Beth stoops to the all time low, she goes after Jamie kid. She can’t accept the fact of her mother’s hatred, and I wonder why she hated her to begin with. Then the abortion she takes no blame for that, when they both was 2 scared kids . There will be some kind of wreck that will kill Jamie, his kid ,mother, and his girlfried and Beth. Beth will change her mind at the last hminute but to late. Rip takes her ashes to the mt meadow and takes his life.an Kacy moves into the big house . John rides out to the grave yard and starts talking to Evlyn grave and answer a lot of unanwered questions, then he has a heartr attach or gets shot? The hands are given opt. To move on or stay. John has the ranchi. IN Trust SO that Dutton can live on it until the last Dutton alive but the Indian nation recieves it then
What has jamie done for this yes he made it impossible for her to have kids but the amount of hate jamie gets not just from Beth but everyone else the only good one is kayce John is just as bad he’s hated the kid since young throughout the entire show it was nothing but hate jamie he only did one thing and no one even knew yet they hated him I vote jamie just kills all of them except kayce.
Ofc that’s how it should end
Jamie is an ungrateful brat! Needs to go to train station!!
Jamie is such a wuss & a coward. He got played by his baby momma, now this last one is playing him for an even bigger fool. For a Harvard grad, a lawyer & the attorney general this dude has one functioning brain cell and it’s between his legs.
She is just an ugly character, with no sense, just a misandry, assume that character was a male then they would call him misogynist.
She is the weakest character, they show that she can do what ever she wishes and always wins, she is tbh just a pu**y character, so toxic, there is no reason for John not to trust Jaime, he did all to protect him but she was the one who pissed governor, she was the one that got the environmental activist in jail.
But John still supports her , the script shows Jaime’s is always loser and untrustworthy without any evidence.
All they show is Beth behave rouge and that something watchable, that’s a coward act,
Jamie did what he did to Beth to save Dutton pride. She wanted an abortion, and he did what takes to save family prestige but this the family doesn’t know but still John hates him for no reason stating he is untrustworthy but what did he do for himself? Nothing…
John always goes easy on beth, but not on small easy mistakes of Jaime.
They show beth winning for family, with literally no proof other than some unlogical talks, whereas Jaime talks law,
She is a misandry character, that is totally cheap, weak, she cried for help when she was about to be attacked, she cried in fear after those 2 assistant got shot. She ruined the family, she herself told she will sell the land if John died but still she is trusted to keep John’s legacy?
Beth is portrayed shitty, abusing kid, men , just Breaking things, that’s not what a strong man will do, look at rainwater. They would just ignore.
Jaime and Rip and the cowboys are the only ones to car about the rach,
Hope kacey and Jaime kill this senseless, unmeaning less character called beth
