Yellowstone’s Beth Dutton is not someone whose s—t list you want to be on, much less top — a fact that Summer Higgins learned the hard way after she slept with the human tornado’s daddy in Season 4. So as Season 5 rolls around, the activist might feel like she’s safer behind bars than anywhere near John.
“Beth wants her father to be happy,” portrayer Kelly Reilly tells TVLine. “She just has no respect for this particular woman. She sees Summer as an enemy, someone who has absolutely no respect for their way of life. [She and her fellow protesters] just come in with this very basic understanding, thinking that [ranchers] all just rednecks.
“Beth isn’t going to walk her through it,” she continues. “She’s just going to quietly destroy her. And it’s so easy for Beth to do that. We know it’s so easy for her to do that! That capacity for violence and cruelty that Beth has in her is quite terrifying, actually.”
Though John was mortified by his daughter and Summer’s interaction, one person definitely got a kick out of it: series co-creator Taylor Sheridan, who took care to play up not only how very different the characters are but how different Beth and Reilly are. “I think Taylor has a lot of fun with that,” says the actress. “I’m not vegan, but I’m vegetarian and very much about animal welfare. I care about the same things Summer cares about.
“Of course, Taylor does, too,” she adds. “But he puts Beth in the position of being the antithesis of all of that. And she does it just to get a reaction, to provoke.”
I am so excited for the next season!
No grown woman would ever pull the crap that Beth does. She is just a little too over the top. Assaulting a woman because she slept with her Father? Gross. No respect for either one of them. Acts like a damn child. Ugh. Beautiful actress though.
“Assaulting a woman…” When did Beth “assault” Summer? She said some very funny but very nasty things to her but she never “assaulted” her… words are considered “assault”, of course, but in these terms, it never happened
Love Beth and Kelly!
Love Beth’s character she grew up fighting to be recognized in a man’s world .can’t wait for season 5 also hope to see season 2 of 1881
Is to me or is Beth a little too into her father’s love life?
If a son acted the way she does about his mother it would be insanely creepy
It’s enjoyable fiction. Written that way for entertainment. Relax and live a little. Not real life…TV.😊
Beth is great!
Beth is cruel to Jamie she really hate him bc she wanted his help bc she slept with RIP and got pregnant and Jamie didn’t want everybody to know so he did what he thought was right she need to lay off Jamie
What he thought was “right” was sterilizing his underage sister? I would seriously hate to figure out what Jamie thinks is wrong, if he thinks sterilizing is underage sister is ok. It wasn’t his choice to decide what was right for her body. He had no right to make that decision. If the roles were reversed, would it be ok for Beth to decide it was right to castrate him?! Yeah I think not.
But did he really understand what he was doing? He was a kid himself just focused on helping her get rid of the child.
He told the receptionist he understood. The receptionist even tried to get him to go somewhere else. He was 17/18 on his way to Harvard. He grew up on a ranch, so he definitely knew what sterilization was. As an adult, he still doesn’t see that what he did was wrong and totally messed up.
Wait until Beth finds out Jamie has a baby!
Spaying your sister is NOT OK.
Love Beth’s character but her interest in John’s love life borders on a little creepy as he is her father. Maybe dial the part of the story down a notch next season. I think she’s going to need to focus all her efforts on Jackie so that she doesn’t end up in jail.
You all think about ths senarios too deeply. Jamie is both weak and nacisistic. He does whatnis best for him, not others. His judgment is poor. Beth loves her dad and while she wants him happy, she is jealous of any other woman who can steal him. Just like a child who is raised by a single adult. Allowing someone into your club is dangerous.Above all remember this is fiction. An escape from your own world.
That will probably cross a line, both with John and with viewers. It’s one thing to go after the “players” but clubbing baby seals like Summer is really not going to work.
I can’t wait to see season 5 and what Beth might be up to in this one! Will she be kicking some more butt or kissing it!?!? Lol
cant stand jamie!
Anyone who says what beth is doing is ok , needs some serious psychology help , you guys are a danger to people around you
