Season 5 of Paramount Network’s Yellowstone will begin anything but typically for embattled marrieds Kayce and Monica, portrayers Luke Grimes and Kelsey Asbille tell TVLine. For once, Tate’s folks aren’t at odds or dealing with kidnappers or ranch invaders.
Nope, when the first two of the 14 (!) episodes debut on Sunday, Nov. 13, at 8/7c, “it starts off happy, which is strange,” Asbille admits. “But you see a really different Kayce and Monica by the end of the season, with a whole new sense of purpose.”
Adds Grimes: “Something that happens early on once again puts us in a really difficult position, but you see them come together in a way that they haven’t before.”

Ah, but will the couple, who in Season 4’s finale were expecting baby No. 2, not only come together but be able to stay together? That’s a big question mark, considering Kayce’s vision of “the end of us.” Did that relate to the star-crossed lovers… or perhaps to Kayce’s father and the Duttons? “There are so many ways that you can interpret that,” Grimes acknowledges. “I asked Taylor [Sheridan, the series’ co-creator] about it, but he didn’t want to give too much away. He kind of gave me enough to be able to say the line, but he didn’t want to tell me, either.
“So I kind of came up with my own idea, just for the purposes of playing that line,” he continues. And that idea was… ? “I don’t think I can tell you that, to be honest!” he laughs as Asbille chimes in, “You’ve got to keep the mystery!”

I hope they don’t split up!! They are a great couple. I feel the same about Rip and Beth! I am ready for the 5th! Hope there are more!
Kayce and Monica are definitely soulmates that deserve a happily ever after since their family has been through so much! I’m excited about the new baby. Can’t wait to see where Season 5 takes them.
I love the couple’s little family, plus the new family member. Beth and RIP are a great couple too, to bad they can’t have a baby. Where else will they go with them?More craziness for all to make this the best show ever!
I hope it’s the end of them, not the end of the Dutton family.
I also hope it’s the end of them. She is very boring and she doesn’t seem to fit in at all.
It means the end of the Duttons. If you watched 1883 the Indian Chief tells the first generation Dutton that his family will “borrow” the land for 5 generations then they will lose it or have to give it back to the people.
I agree that Monica is whimpy. Not strong at all and that is what Kayce needs. She complains about how big the ranch is but yet all she wants to do is have babies to fill up every room, and yet they cannot afford a real living on their own because she wants to keep watch over Kayce. good lord girl get a grip!
get rid of that whiley Monica. hopethe season 5 isnt about her depression at least we were spare seeing her going into labor. which male directors seem tolove to show
Monica really makes me so upset! She is so needy and doesn’t seem to be able to view real life circumstances with any amount of common sense whatsoever! I love the show but I think they make things with Monica and Tate weirdly wrong and uncomfortable. Tate is way too old to be getting a sponge bath from his mother is a prime example of that. I also think that Monica getting in that car like that was idiotic and careless and she is completely an solely responsible for the death of that baby! I also find it stupid and selfish that she believes that Kasey is supposed to stay right up under her and Tate all the time and not work or anything.
