Young Sheldon fans won’t have to wait for the prospective Georgie-and-Mandy spinoff to see CeeCee’s parents tie the knot.
Speaking to TVLine in anticipation of the Big Bang Theory offshoot’s return (on Thursday, Feb. 15 at 8/7c), executive producer Steve Holland revealed that the CBS comedy will host a wedding during its seventh and final season.
“There’s a wedding coming up,” the EP confirmed on Feb. 7. “In fact, we’re actually shooting that today. Yesterday and today. That’s been really fun, and I think it’s the most people we’ve ever had in a scene together, so that’s exciting.
“It’s not a big wedding,” he adds, “but everyone important to them is there.”
Georgie’s wedding was bound to take place during Season 7. In Young Sheldon Season 1, George Sr. bet his son $1,000 that he would be married before he turned 25. After he accepted Dad’s bet, our narrator chimed in to say that Georgie marries his first wife at 19 — and in Young Sheldon‘s Season 6 finale, Mandy proposed to an 18-year-old Georgie.
As previously reported, CBS is looking to expand the Big Bang Theory universe once more — this time with a Young Sheldon spinoff centered on the groom- and bride-to-be. Deals are still being hashed out with Montana Jordan and Emily Osment, but CBS and Warner Bros. are looking to secure a 13-episode freshman run for the 2024-25 TV season — meaning the spinoff would premiere within months of Young Sheldon‘s May 16 series finale.
No word yet on when the wedding episode will air or who has RSVP’d for Georgie and Mandy’s big day — but we do know that Young Sheldon was halfway through production on its 14-episode order at the time the wedding was shot.

I’m guessing they’re not counting scenes of Sheldon in a lecture hall when they say “biggest ever”? Well I came up with 13 family members and the officiant that you’d expect for a wedding:
.
George Jr., Mandy, Baby
George Sr., Mary, Sheldon, Missy
Meemaw, Dale
Mandy’s father and mother
Pastor Neighbor (to officiate) and his wife
.
Maybe Brenda and her son, either as neighbor invites or… drama … guests of George Sr??
Ah, how could I forget: if George Sr. brings Brneda, Mary natch brings Pastor Rob as her +1. Seating chart drama and laughs ensue!
I assume he meant characters who had speaking parts, not extras.
Love Young Sheldon! Will hate to see it go. Awaiting Mandy and Georgie spinoff. Chuck Lorre is a genius! He has created some great TV shows! Hopefully the kids, parents, and MeeMaw and her love interests still show up occasionally. Thank you for my favorite comedy@
I’m not sure I love the idea of a Young Sheldon spin off in the first place. When they originally teased the spin off they billed it as a BBT spin off, not a YS spin off. I’ll watch it and I’m sure it will be good enough but I think they should do a spin off on the original show. I love YS but BBT will always be my favorite. And unless they can pull out some great comedy from this it feels a little ho-hum to follow Georgie and Mandy as main characters, especially as new parents. Just my opinion.
Would love to see a spin off of Young Sheldon with the teenage parents.❤️
