HONORABLE MENTION: Allegra Edwards
Even on a series with clever quips, AI characters and two Robbie Amells, Allegra Edwards was a total scene-stealer during Upload‘s sixth episode. The actress nailed the comedic and emotional beats of her character Ingrid’s drunken meltdown as she confronted her ex Nathan. Edwards was hysterical while gleefully showering Nathan with random sand and brought the laughs as she mimicked the model strut of the vacant women he used to date. Then, just when we thought Edwards was going to leave us in tears from just laughter, she brought out a surprisingly tender side of Ingrid. When she found out that her dad wanted her dead, Ingrid tearfully admitted that she just wanted someone to be proud of her. Allegra Edwards, we are so very proud of the vulnerability, growth and wit you’ve brought to Ingrid’s arc.
Billy Crudup is magnificent!!! His facial expressions are on point! You feel everything he is trying to convey and he’s the only reason I’m still watching the Morning Show
Julianna Margulies was amazing too, she should’ve been mentioned at least.
She was already mentioned a few weeks ago for episode 5.
The whole cast was great this week.
Reese Witherspoon was also fabulous as her world disintegrated
Great choices, although I was hoping to see Tom Hiddleston too. He has one more opportunity next week.
Billy Crudup is a Golden God.
He never said he was a Golden God.
Or did he….?
Crudup carries this (frequently aggravating) show week after week, but this was a new high for him. Emmy submission episode for sure. He deserves it!
I can’t believe Tom Hiddleston didn’t receive a shoutout for this week’s Loki episode, my god. The man is an acting force of nature and in both the revelatory bar scene and near the end when he realizes his legitimate “glorious purpose”, he is literally breathtaking.
My daughter isn’t usually one to be monosyllabic in her descriptors, but all she could say for a full few minutes after was “Wow”, and she just kept saying it over and over. I myself was stunned into silence (a miracle), and some of the reactions online were “I feel like I’m high”, and “That was dizzying!”, and the ultimate compliment: “I haven’t felt this way since Endgame”.
The scene where Sylvie gets him to admit what he wants is his friends back alone should get him a mention
I couldn’t agree more with this choice. Billy Crudup lights up every scene he is in and was amazing in this last episode He’s been incredible to watch this entire season and should be seriously considered for an Emmy.
