HAVE MERCY!
Full House‘s Uncle Jesse would definitely approve of this high-class mullet, which serves royal business up front and a Hastings ball in the back. Also, we’re convinced the backwards “S” formed by the front curls stands for secrets.

Few things have brought us joy like Netflix’s captivating Regency Era drama Bridgerton. But those simmering romances weren’t the only hair-raising parts.
Adapted from Julia Quinn’s bestselling novels, the Shondaland-produced series from creator Chris Van Dusen is Gossip Girl meets Pride and Prejudice with a dash of Grey’s Anatomy bravado. It’s a candy-colored dreamscape overflowing with delectable visual treats: extravagant empire waist gowns, perfectly tailored petticoats, lush florals and a stunning cast to boot.
Nicola Coughlan’s Penelope Featherington certainly left her mark in the period romance’s most recent episodes, but we can’t stop thinking about another jewel of the season: Queen Charlotte and her luxurious hair.
Her Royal Highness served up more unforgettable looks in Season 3, highlighted by her seemingly endless supply of opulent wigs. Ranging in length, texture and even color, these heavenly hairpieces command as much attention as their sovereign head bearer.
“I make sure I stay hydrated because it’s such an intense wear,” Golda Rosheuvel, who plays Queen Charlotte, previously told TVLine. “I weighed myself one day with a light costume and a light wig, and I gained two stone (28 pounds). I’m carrying around that weight all day, and that’s a big toll on the body.”
In honor of those efforts, we’re spotlighting Her Majesty’s memorable tresses throughout all three seasons. Scroll on for Queen Charlotte’s 35 royally fabulous wigs, ranked.

Alert the Ton: Queen Charlotte got bangs, and it’s like she’s a whole new woman.
We’re not mad at this fetching number for the Mondrichs’ jewel-toned ball.
This lavender wig is so dreamy, we’re calling it the viscount.
It’s not the Diamond of the Season, but we treasure this grey and blue updo nonetheless.
The understated elegance of this gorgeous, brown ombre look is nothing to frown at.
That bronze-dipped rose is pure elegance. Do you think she found it on Etsy?
This cotton candy hairpiece is a midsummer night’s dream.
The queen may be displeased, but perfect swirls in this elegant updo are so satisfying to look at.
We can’t stop fawning over this delicate pink look from Her Majesty.
Nice color? Check. Great height? Double check. Fabulous styling? Check mate.
Is there anything better than letting your hair down and curling up with a good gossip rag?
We’re all about the stunning details — did you catch that matching blue ribbon at the top? — in this beautifully coordinated look.
The brown really weaves this whole look together, don’t you think?
We, too, are enthralled by these fine finger waves.
Even at her most stripped down, Queen Charlotte radiates pure elegance.
Lady Whistledown may have the tea, but we have nothing but love for this bejeweled, curly updo.
Though King George III is merely ill during the series, this look is very much “My husband died under mysterious circumstances, and I’ve inherited his throne” — and we’re into it.
We can’t take our eyes off the stunning jewels adorning this beautiful, natural-looking ‘do.
Just looking at the exquisite jewels of this elegant updo is enough to ruin our credit.
Miranda Priestly might not be a fan of florals, but even she would be impressed with the exquisite roses adorning this powdered wig.
The devil works hard, but the Queen’s neck works harder to carry this stacked peacock-themed look.
Who is Queen Charlotte’s loctician, and are they taking new clients? Asking for a friend.
Her Majesty is the jewel of our eyes, as is this marvelous, geode-inspired creation.
We could talk until we’re blue in the face about the feathers and pearls adorning this positively playful updo.
Category is: expensive. Like, you couldn’t afford this look on your best day.
We’re absolutely in love with this heart-shaped showstopper.
We can’t tell what’s more impressive: the sheer height of this towering updo, or that Queen Charlotte is able to hold her head up under the weight of all that hair.
We’re on cloud nine thinking about this dreamy, poofy perfection.
How many hours in the salon chair do you think it would take to replicate this extravagant look?
This rose-themed ‘do is simply spectacular.
This opulent white updo left us — and Eloise — gasping for air.
There’s not a thread out of place in this utterly magnificent hairpiece.
Leave it to a Shondaland show to give us a Black queen rocking a jumbo afro and a bejeweled hair pick. We bow down to Her Majesty’s natural ‘do and the underlying message that Black hair is beautiful.
We’re simply in awe of this stunning piece, which hair and makeup designer Erika Ökvist told TVLine was a “Fabergé egg holding this treasure in the middle of it.” (Read our full interview here.)
That inside treasure included dancing crystal swans and a special hand-painted backdrop. Plus, a golden cherry tree ran up the entire length of the wig from behind, connecting to the branches with sparkling crystals dangling in front. A masterpiece.
Which was your favorite of Queen Charlotte’s locks that rocked?
The lavender one is one of my faves, but tbh, I love them all.
I love the Afro! ✊🏾👸🏽
Oh yeah
Prince Albert Matthew 3
Braided bunch and Black and Beautiful Fro. I love them All
Wait… Keisha Hatchett?? Did TVL hire a black writer.. Thank you and welcome girl! This was long overdue..
Anyway onto the article… The Queen’s wigs were insane, they stole the scene everytime. And I 100% agree with the top spot…that jumbo afro hair had me and my sister mesmerized. It was just glorious…all the wigs were on another level to be honest. I appreciate the hair department for the perfection in showcasing the beauty of afro natural hair/wigs.
I think the wigs were one of the main characters of this series, I love the golden afro, the natural elegance and the flower power!
I watched it all an some of her wigs she wore I don’t remember but now I want to watch it all over again how lovely
White culture appropriation
“White culture” compliments of free black labor.
Charlotte is spunky, beautiful and a very good dresser. I have viewed this series 9 times. I really love the clothes and content. I can’t wait for the new episodes.
It’s a 3 way tie for me with the pink, the lavender and the natural eleganza. Loved all her wigs.
Greyed Expectations, I loved it. The ladies in waiting rocked their hairdos also. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw the afro. Love everything about this series. Binged the whole first season.
The queen is an absolute beauty in all her grace.
I am living to see her hair in all its glory! You got the #1 right in all her afro glory! Maybe we will see an Afro-disiac of styles next season!
It was the Fro and the High Gray wig for me. This show was just beautiful to see the multicultural cast seamless interaction with family and friends without the mention of race. But the Queen and her Court stole the show with the looks. Just Beautiful.
12, 7, and 1…all stunning 😍
I loved all of the wigs, but mainly I loved the way Queen Charlotte carried herself underneath them, with elegance, grace, humor and forbearance.
My other favorite costuming standout were Simon’s waistcoats. They frequently revealed his mood and stole the scene next to Daphne’s pale blue dresses.
Yass! This was my main reason for watching; fashion, storyline, Duke, and the music. My favorite the huge Afro!
Love Love this movie . Not really a movie buff. However I have watched this movie four times , each time was like the first.
WOW
Love every last one them❤️
Afro with the bejeweled pick was my favorite.
Black queen rocking a jumbo afro and a bejeweled hair pick

Numbers 3 and 2 were just too fabulous! Loving this actress and great cast. This show is wicked fun!
This is the best thing I’ve ever read! Very creative. More please from this writer
For me its the baby blue chantilly one and the fro. Chiiiile those are everything
Queen of Hearts – then the lav/purple ones.
Big hair was more than a status symbol. It has been and still is a sign of fertility.
All the wigs in Bridgerton are outstanding. Queen Charlotte’s are out of this world.
These should be in a museum. Works of art!
