I really enjoy Alaska Daily. Hope it’s renewed or at least solves the crime if it does end.
Hillary Swank is pregnant with twins at 48 years old. It probably won’t be renewed.
Although most actors with young kids. Like the daily schedule of television as opposed to film. So, who knows what it all means. Just means we will not have a long season. More abbreviated. But Season 2 could still be in play.
What makes you think they didn’t shoot the whole season already and she’s at home resting?
As of couple of weeks ago, when she announced. It looked like they were still filming. But I don’t know at what stage they are at in filming.
I think it had a shorter season anyway, like Viola did with H2GAWM, so she can probably finish shooting the season.
I wonder why they think it’s a long-short though when it had a lot of gains when adding in DVR/streaming (Hulu/etc.). I feel like it should at worst be a “too early to tell” at this point.
Hello, what about the SYFY channel’s shows? Thanks
That’s a cable network, so you’ll need to look at the cable renewal scorecard.
What was she thinking???
If Alaska Daily is canceled due to Hillary Swank’s pregnancy, bring it back in a year or two; or cover the same premise in another state, with a different actress/reporter for a season. Alaska Daily is a strong show, with an excellent premise that should be addressed. Continue with good shows that have worthwhile messages to save TV.
I agree 100%! Alaska Daily is well written and acted. I got really engrossed with the storyline. Alaska has never covered so well!!
Im sick and tired of “unscripted “ shows! They are a cheap and dummy/down of our entertainment. And I’m 70! I want my age group to be considered when networks demographics are covered. We, the retired, are the ones that watch the most tv. Sorry for the rant!!
Agree
I, too, really enjoy Alaska Daily, especially Hillary Swank’s character. It would really be a shame if the show was not renewed.
I like Alaska Daily really well. Hope it stay on.
I also hope it’s renewed.
I agree, it’s a worthwhile show! Please renew!
Totally agree
I love Alaska Daily, don’t understand why the cancelation when it has a good following. If Hillary cannot continue due to pregnancy, pls continue with her partner and introduce someone new.
All new, new history and new actress. Pls consider.
Agreed
Wish they would have renewed Alaska Daily and A Million Little Things great shows.
I’m enjoying it too! Hopefully they keep a good show
I agree! It is one of my favorites!
Keep the show please.
Me too!! I really like everyone in the show. The writing is good. I hope it’s renewed!
great show anxious to see next season.
agree, I love the show.
I wish it would return. A really good show.
I completely agree.
Season 1’s crime got solved at the end of the season, and I was wondering if it would be a “crime of the season” show, which would be fine with me. Still don’t know, of course, here in April, 2023.
We really like it also and hope it gets another season. I like that they cover things that other shows don’t like how crimes on Indigenous women are treated by police and the media.
I agree, I really liked this show. It was a very bad way to end it, if it’s over.
Is there a reason none of the network competition shows are listed?
“The Scorecard does not include unscripted series or international imports.” –Mgmt.
I wish they would cancel them all!
Shut up and tune in to Cartoon Network.
Respectfully,
Some of us don’t care.
I have never watched them at all. Give them up for streaming channels. You’ll never miss them!!
after last seasons bloodbath, is anything at the CW a “safe bet”?
All American, All Stars, Walker, Independence, the foreign shows like Family Law, and The Professionals are probably safe. Whose line, Fool Us, and Masters of illusion are dirt cheap to film so I imagine they’re safe too. The likely endangered shows would be all the DC related ones which Nexstar has no stake in and is probably more expensive to film, Winchester if it keeps losing viewers, and Nancy Drew whose show is getting older, has no syndication interest and had a spin-off fail.
I don’t know that Professionals is “safe.” They shot 10 episodes about 3 years ago and nothing more, as far as I know.
I meant to say in my own less than stellar way, that shows LIKE The Professionals, that being foreign shows Nexstar doesn’t have to produce, that are already done without them having to hire any actors and only have to secure the broadcasting rights are a safer bet to be picked up/renewed. My apologies.
That’s a shame about Nancy Drew. It was the best show on the CW after Stargirl and Legends.
I bet ya Kung Fu is done since they literally had the last scene of Nikki walking off into the sunset.
Greys Anatomy should say Season 20, not 2 :)
Fixed! —Mgmt
Didn’t Alaska Daily just get a full season order or am I thinking of something else?

I don’t think it has yet. I think the holdup is Hilary is pregnant with twins. And I don’t know how that works with the episode count. Even if they solve the case. There are other stories they could focus in Alaska for a Season 2. So, I assume it all depends on Hilary’s schedule. I don’t know why it’s labeled, “long shot” at this point. Unless there is something we don’t know.
Yeah, I think it’s East New York that I’m thinking of. I remember I was surprised because I didn’t think it was that good, lol. It’s okay, just seems a bit slow for me. I like action rather than a lot of talking.
Yeah East New York stinks
I disagree. East New York anything but “Stinks”. It’s got good acting, good story lines, and a nice slant on women in leadership. The Deputy Lt. has good goals for her people.
Maybe I’m in the minority but I think East New York is a really good show. Hope it has many seasons to come.
You’re a Dick Wolf kinda watcher!❤️
I feel like Swank only ever signed on to do 1 season to begin with meaning they would wrap this storyline in season 1. If they can come up with something compelling for season 2 though there is no reason she can’t hand the baton to one of the other journalists.
Hilary Swank may put her personal life first this time. She has spent the last few years looking after her sick father and now is expecting her miracle twins. While there are many MMIW in Alaska and Canada, if she decides to continue with network tv there are many many stories to tell, sadly.
To see that Alaska Daily is a “long shot” is a kick in the gut for me. I loved this show right from the premiere which I think actually is the very first time that has happened to me. I never realized that Hilary Swank was such a good actress. The writing is excellent, the acting superb. It’s unthinkable to me that it would be cancelled.
I agree, I’m really liking this show, hope “long shot” turns out to be very wrong.
Hillary Swank has won two Academy Awards so she is obviously a good actor. The problem with the show being renewed is Hillary is pregnant with twins at age 48.
I agreed. Excellent show addresses real topics that don’t get enough coverage because they aren’t glamorous…..Swank’s character out of her element but learning fast. Hope she wants to continue. We don’t have to have 20+ episodes. Often times less is better.
I agree completely! I totally LOVE Alaska Daily! I originally watched it because Hillary Swank was in it. She’s a great actress. But I think it’s a wonderful show, with a very compelling story line. Not to mention the scenery of being set in Alaska. That’s cool, too.
Karina, totally agree with you about Alaska Daily….terrific show and Hilary Swank is fantastic
The show is filmed in British Columbia
One of the better shows on tv KEEP it on!!!
A lot of it is shot in canada
I love alaska daily watch because hillary is such a good actress. Wish her all the best with her up comming twins great seeing beautiful scienes of alaska. Hope they renew the show so many stories to be told alot if woman stiil able to work after babies arrive
I never was a Hilary Swank fan. Actually I never liked her or her acting….until Alaska! I only started watching because I was intrigued with the story line pitch. Wow! She is awesome! The writing is awesome! The storyline is awesome! The filming is awesome! So why would this be a long shot when there’s so much that’s great about this show??? I don’t buy into the pregnancy bit. Networks have always worked around that occurrence on many shows so its a non-issue for me.
Give the woman a break. She’s 48 AND having twins. She might not want to go for season 2.
If she wanted out to be with her babies, they could have changed the script for her to take the job opportunity. I hope she stays, but the show in my opinion is good enough to carry on without her.
I really enjoy Alaska Daily. Excellent cast and they work really well together.
Hilary Swank has won two best actress Oscars, one for Boys Don’t Cry (1999) and one for Million Dollar Baby (2004).
I agree totally with judy.
Big Sky is the best show on TV ! Hoping for a season 4 !!!
I really liked the first two seasons, but the 3rd season isn’t as good IMO. I’d still hate to see it cancelled though.
I really liked the first 2 seasons. But agree this last season was a little disappointing. I think Reba was mis cast. Couldn’t buy into her character.
I like it
I would hate to see it cancelled too but agree with you about season 3.
With the two most attractive stars-that’s my book!!
Creep
Why the insult?
Love Big Sky.
best actors and best show. Alway something new going on. keeps you on the edge of your seat. how about getting rid of some shows been on forever how many rapes can they show
It lost me after Season 1. Once those bad guys were gone, I didn’t care. Just my opinion.
Love Big Sky! 💚
Fingers crossed for La Brea. I love the show.
I do too. It’s like a smart Land of the Lost…
La Brea was renewed for a shortened season 3.
I’m really disappointed that the resident got canceled the show had a great storyline and left us on a cliffhanger as to how it went with Conrad finally getting the girl I wish there had been another season along with all the other characters.
What about Family Law on the CW? I think it is a great show.
It says international shows aren’t included.
Family Law started filming the third season in May. Whether CW continues to air the show in the US no clue.
its weird to me that Canada is considered foreign … that makes me a foreigner lol so strange
I like it too! Good show.
I agree. Family Law is very enjoyable. The first couple episodes were not great but it has just gotten better and better. I wasn’t aware it was a Canadian show though. I hope the next 2 seasons will air in the US.
I agree I really like family law and I hope it stays!
How about streaming services renewals/cancellations? I’m really wanting to know that Seal Team & Yellowstone get renewed.
Streaming and Cable of course have their own scorecards:

(Always updated, date shown is of original publish.)
I love seal team, and I believe it’s coming back??
And as far as yellowstone, I believe that’s the number one cable show so I would believe it for sure is coming back! And I love both 1883 and 1923. Are fantastic!
Every year they keep saying The Blacklist is in its final year. Honestly, it’s outlived itself. Ten is a great round number and as a faithful fan I hope it is the last!
After CW killed Dynasty after having renewed for two seasons (this last one was seasons five), I will never watch that excuse of a network again. Probably won’t be able to find it after the merger is completed, anyway. Is there a possibility some other network might save it? Numbers were great in Europe.
I could watch James Spader as Red Reddington forever. I hope it keep beating the odds.
Not sure how you could consider any CW shows “a safe bet” for renewal at this point.
IMO if any shows on the CW are safe it’s the 3 flagged in the article, they need some content and so far the imported shows aren’t doing overly well. Walker and AA are probably safest, they don’t have the additional complication of being a DC property like S&L. With the changes going on with HBO Max/DC/Warner and also the weird thing they have about some characters not appearing on both small and big screen at same time could lead to a decision to keep Superman for the big screen again which would mean the decision is out of Nexstars hands anyway
In my opinion, AA probably should have ended with high school graduation… the show wasn’t really set up to do college and the storylines are getting more improbable.. also that stadium they are using does not in any way resemble a big time college football program.. couldn’t they shoot at the Rose Bowl or something for it?
And the football player the series is based on didn’t have a great or long career. IF it gets a S7, there needs to be a time jump.
S6
Hoping Superman and Lois remains a safe bet once season 3 airs. Would love to get 4 to 5 seasons of this show, it’s so good but IMO most shows should go no more than 4 or 5 seasons. They start to loose what made them so special and watchable after that
Yay for Ghosts! Fingers crossed for Big Sky, CSI, Cleaning Lady, La Brea & Stargirl.
The Cleaning Lady and La Brea were both renewed. Unfortunately La Brea was renewed for a shortened third season of only 6 episodes
I really hope So Help me Todd gets renewed. I’ve liked Marcia Gay Harden ever since I saw her in Pollock.
If Hillary is pregnant with twins, they should have done a “limited series” instead of hooking us with a “show”. I stop watching shows if I know they won’t be renewed.
So Help Me Todd was renewed in February of 2023
Honestly with the CW sale, all of those shows are in jeopardy as far as I’m concerned
I’m not so sure Superman & Lois is a safe bet to return. Is it possible that all the superhero shows get axed and the CW network goes in a completely different direction. I’m hoping we get a 4th season of that and Stargirl but I’m not banking on it.
if not i really hope HBO Max picks up S&L and Stargirl
Like when we thought that HBO Max would pick up Batwoman and Legends of Tomorrow?
East New York give it a next shot big sky is all the way up
My fingers are crossed for NCIS LA, I’m enjoying the new additions and it’s given it some new life. It’s the only NCIS show we’re still watching.
I can see how some of those leads are ready for a new challenge though, but the “kids” have done a great job of stepping in and giving it some energy.
NCIS LA is a great show, but putting it in a slot after a sports game is detrimental. I know they like the idea of Callen and Anna as a romantic pair, but I really don’t care for her character. At this point, I wouldn’t count on Hetty coming back, but I do like McRainey in her spot. I also like the story line about Sam dealing with his dad’s problems.
I too like NCIS LA the best. Why is it going off?
Well network TV is giving me more and more time to watch all the streamers. A record low for me this year I only picked up three new shows. Two of them mentioned here as a long shot or too early to tell. Some I know are ending and other than Ghost & all the Law and Orders nothing is a sure thing. The only Law & Order I care about is SVU watch the others just out of habit. Oh well I still have lots of streaming shows to catch up on!
Nooo!! Alaska Daily is fantastic and just what I’ve been looking for for years. If they let Hillary Swank’s character be pregnant, it would be a huge hit. Also, cheering on So Help Me Todd, La Brea & The Winchesters; strong actors with strong plotlines. I haven’t watched this much broadcast TV in a very long time. Go, Little Engines go!
I don’t want Kung Fu to get cancelled
Right omg please get renewed
What a dismal year for Network television. I was a 3 hour a night watcher, now down to 4 hours a week. There are too many commercials and poor storylines (how can you have a decent story in 15 mins). Such a lack of good comedies. Abbott Elementary is not funny. The only bright spots are Young Sheldon, Bob Hearts Abisola and especially Ghosts.
Luv, luv Ghosts! Witty, funny, the characters are fresh and all the actors are great.
Magnum PI?
Cancelled by CBS. “On June 30, 2022, the series was picked up by NBC with a two-season, twenty-episode order.”
Starts in 2023. That’s a total of 20 episodes over 2 seasons, so 10 per season.
But there are 15 airing in season 5 so far…so maybe they ended up deciding to combine them?
Seriously love True Lies such a shame it’s needs at least a second season. Unfortunately they did the same thing to Instinct which was also a great show.
I agree True Lies is really good. one of the best new shows. great acting and a lot of action. please please renew
Magnum PI returns on February 19th, 2023 with back to back episodes
Big Sky is the best show on TV!
What about the PROFESSIONALS? Love that new show.
I believe that show falls under “international imports” which are excluded from this list as was mentioned in the article and reiterated several times in the comments above
