Quinta Brunson, Abbott Elementary
WHY SHE DESERVES A NOD: In the ABC comedy’s third season, school teacher Janine Teagues matured in a beautiful way, with a new job at the district and a more polished look. Throughout her character’s evolution, Brunson shone as Janine embraced her boosted self-confidence. The actress also let the old Janine slip through at times, giving us moments of pure hilarity, like when Janine desperately tried to micro-manage her end-of-year party. Brunson truly finished the season on a high, delivering a flawless lip-sync of Barbara and Melissa’s dialogue at that bash. And her flustered look when Gregory planted a steamy kiss on Janine? Perfection! — Vlada Gelman
Jean Smart
I just can’t take the travesty of The Bear being nominated as a Comedy. It’s like they knew they were not as strong as Sucession and started this bold lie. Even Sucession was finnier than The Bear a very good and vclear Drama.
It’s the same situation as Shameless being nominated as a comedy …..
Wednesday was in a similar situation…although it won’t matter until next year’s awards.
I agree about the second season, but I felt the first season was much more comedic and deserved to run as a comedy.
THE BEAR IS NOT A COMEDY!
edi patterson all the way. nobody else came close.
Kristen Wiig was amazing in Palm Royale
Not even close; JEAN SMART.
Edi Patterson needs to be nominated.
Where is Selena Gomez from “Only Murders in the Building?” It takes some real good comedy chops to hold one’s own against Steve Martin and Martin Short.
1st choice is Jean Smart, 2nd choice is Jean Smart.
Maya Rudolph from Loot.
