TVLINE | In Jessica’s last interaction with Jimmy before giving Vance her answer, she told him she realized that he had a point. What specific point of his was she conceding?
I think that with their relationship, you have to imagine there’s a lot more to it that we’re not seeing on the screen. And then I go back to this setup where [the relationship] is working but are they going to get married? They’re old enough now where they’re not just hanging around having fun. Jimmy’s a parent and he was married and that’s the sort of relationship he’s looking for. But is that the sort of relationship that she’s looking for? And are they going to move forward that way? If they’re not going to move forward that way, then maybe they should end it, and I think that’s kind of what she’s leaning into. “If Jimmy doesn’t think we’re going to go forward, then maybe it’s time just to end it.”
TVLINE | Talk about the decision to end the season with her answer to Vance, instead of her about to give her answer.
So, that was an ongoing conversation — and I don’t know that we pleased everyone on that conversation. If we had ended it with, “What’s it going to be?,” that felt artificial to those of us who won the debate. That’s what we’re going to hang our hat on? “Is she going to leave or not?” And if doesn’t leave, it’s going to seem like we cheated in a way. It seemed more mature and more honest to take that next step and let the audience be pining for, “What’s this look like now?” instead of “What’s it going to be?” We want people to be wondering, “What’s next year going to look like?” as opposed to, “Is she leaving or not?”
Obviously, Knight is going to be gone for the first episode. Something within that job, or back home will draw her attention and she will end up very soon back in Washington. Realizing NCIS is what she wants, whether that means Jimmy too, we will see some more angst. Unless they truly shock us in September. Nothing Katrina has said, has indicated she’s gone. This is not like the Bishop departure. Where they seem to set up something for the fall and then Emily said, “I am gone.” So, I see some big crisis involving Knight, and she ends coming back.
I agree.
I would prefer to forget the Origins and the Ncis Sydney and keep Ncis Hawaii. Love Tony and Ziva. Had enough of Gibbs. Love the Knight character too.
Sydney made zero impact on the Hawaii decision.
Knight probably won’t even leave and I won’t watch the new nics shows since they took mics Hawaii off the air
I took have had enough of Gibbs and his rules, and his story . Move
Have loves ncis original, new Orleans and Sydney. La was ok. Hawaii just didn’t cut it at all. Couldn’t watch it.. origins could be interesting. Tony and ziva doesn’t actually sound like ncis style although I love the characters so hope it’s a good show albeit not really NCIS
I have loved NCIS from the beginning. Mark Harmon brought Leroy Jethro Gibbs to life. Along with all the characters that have come and gone on the show. Scott Bakula did the same for NCIS:New Orleans. While I enjoyed NCIS:L.A. it was the hardest of all the series to really enjoy. NCIS:Hawaii was a good series and had potential to have a long series ran, but was cut short. Myself, I enjoy NCIS:Sydney for the diversity of where it’s filmed. I think that like some of the other show it will take more then 10 episodes for the series to gel. I am looking forward to the 2 new series, however I think NCIS:Orgins will have the biggest uphill battle. I know Gibbs is the main character but, we already know a lot about his past and I don’t want to see them ruining what we already. The show needs to be about the team that Gibbs is on with teammates like Mike and Alden, but seen through a young probies eyes, otherwise they will have gotten rid of a good show for nothing.
Lastly, I still think instead of canceling shows like NCIS:Hawaii, So Help Me Todd and CSI:Vegas, they could use them as 10 or 12 week summer replacements to keep CBS fans happy with a good shows during the boring off-season when most people just shut off their tvs.
I was thinking the same about use some of these popular shows as summertime replacements for 10 weeks.
You have no clue just how expensive it would be to do this, and how little revenue it would generate in today’s TV market. It’s bad business, and CBS (and Paramount) already have financial issues enough to start with. That’s why these shows were canceled to begin with – not profitable enough for them.
How much is CBS paying you to defend them on this platform?
Are you Amy Reisenbach in disguise?
NCIS: Hawaii has a ton of devoted fans, and we are still peeved about the show getting canceled and Origins getting their time slot.
CBS could have made it work. They clearly didn’t want to. We’re going to make our anger known to them.
You don’t need to be their PR rep.
Hawaii stunk. The fact they had to bring in another character from the franchise so early in the run just showed how desperate they were for viewers on par with the other shows. It didn’t matter who it was the fact they had to branch out that early was evident. And you can hide behind the supposed slights of ‘first female lead show’ or whatever all you want but their management killed it. Plus when you hire a TV host as your main lead you’re literally asking to be panned.
Let’s face it things change in the military so in order to keep things real changes no matter how unpopular happen. I for one liked the Jessica Jimmy relationship. To pull the plug seems so wrong.
I learned a long time ago that the female agent has always been a revolving door on NCIS so if Knight is gone for good then onward and forward. Parker has been the biggest surprise of the show figured that was it when Gibbs left but I appreciate how more easygoing he is as a leader he reminds me a bit of Pride from NOLA more chilled. They ditch Torres then I may fully enjoy the show again.
We’ll see if Parker can still be easygoing and funny after his injury on the ship. Not to mention when he remembers Lilly.
Don’t care, not watching. They cancelled the best, Hawaii.
Hawaii was the she-hulk of the NCIS verse. A female lead does not compensate for poor writing. The fact they had to bring in another character from another NCIS series was when the desperation was evident.
She Hulk was brilliant! Female lead, breaking the fourth wall, Daredevil cameo, weak male feeling threatened by a strong female and thus trying to get her powers for himself by nefarious means! Not everything needs to be 100% serious in the MCU, there’s always been a lot of humour in it.
As for NCIS Hawaii, it made a refreshing change from the main show and bringing Sam from LA into the ten episodes they had in the shortened season just took away from the flow of the actual programme. He was my least favourite character from LA and was just evened out by his constant back and forth with Callen. I miss Deeks and Kensi a lot more than him.
lol!The show runner for She-Hulk was so mad for the underperformance of her show that she found mundane ways to justify the failure by blaming other shows for more having viewers or Disney plus for some reason or another. Hawaii was so bad it made LA at its worst look award winning. Both shows had poor writing that hides behind (insert adjective here)-ism for its failures.
I’d be happy never to see Katrina Law again.
