With the drama surrounding the presidential election still raging on, America attempted another monumental democratic feat on Sunday, revealing the winners of the 2020 E! People’s Choice Awards.
Heading into the Demi Lovato-hosted broadcast, This Is Us led the small-screen pack with six total nominations. The show itself received two nods, plus two more each for Mandy Moore and Sterling K. Brown; the actors were both nominated for Drama TV Star of 2020, as well as Female and Male TV Star of 2020, respectively. Other mutli-nominated TV shows included Grey’s Anatomy (five), The Bachelor (four), The Masked Singer (four), Riverdale (four), Schitt’s Creek (four) and The Walking Dead (four).
In addition to handing out dozens of fan-voted awards on Sunday, the 46th annual event also welcomed two of the biggest acts in music — Justin Bieber and Chloe x Halle, both of whom are People’s Choice nominees this year — for special performances. (Click here to watch!)
This year’s celebrity presenters included Addison Rae, Alison Brie, Armie Hammer, Bebe Rexha, Jameela Jamil, Kathryn Hahn, Machine Gun Kelly, Sofia Carson, Tiffany Haddish and Tyler, the Creator.

Well…People’s Choice is what it is…hope the real experts do better. Grey’s Anatomy and Ellen Pompeii? Time for a bow out. Sophia Vergaro…really? Nothing so far for Ozark. Outer Banks…what’s that? Never Have I Ever…whats that? Will Law and Order SVU .and Mariska ever be given their due? What about Kristen Bell? Why wasn’t Superstore nominated for comedy? Ellen Degeneres…really…after all that drama on set and behind the scenes? RuPaul…what is this 1999?
Comedy and Bingeworthy shows come from Netflix.

Outer Banks description: “A teenager enlists his three best friends to hunt for a legendary treasure linked to his father’s disappearance.”
_
Never Have I Ever: “A show that chronicles the complicated life of a first-generation Indian-American teenager.”
After 17 seasons, Grey’s Anatomy remains the #1 scripted drama on ABC. That’s impressive. Fans voted for the show and for Ellen. As she stated it’s her 5th people’s choice award. Why would they bow out when the show is still profitable and relevant?

Never Have I Ever beating three comedies in their final seasons to win the Comedy Show of 2020. This is THAT BIG AN UPSET.
To me, even though it’s not nearly the same magnitude as the Emmys, I think that the Peoples Choice Awards are actually better bc it has actual people and fans of television voting for their favorites, not some Hollywood elitists telling us what they think is the best.
I was a little surprised by Wynonna Erp’s win, as this season was a silly mess. But, I assume the CWVerse shows likely crossed each other out.
I am also surprised Grey’s Anatomy won show of year but lost in the drama show category.
Finally, I can’t believe Schitt’s Creek didn’t win.
I actually thought this season had so far been more put together than last season.
Wow. I just don’t know. Who votes for this thing?
The kind of people that picked the Kardashians for reality TV, that’s who. It’s a sad, sad state of affairs.
LMAO, seeing Riverdale win Drama of 2020 tells me everything I need to know about who’s voting. Good Lord.
I wish I knew why “Lucifer” didn’t even get a mention! It is the first series I have ever been totally addicted to (and I’m 76 years old, so I’ve seen a few great series)! The actor portraying Lucifer, Tom Ellis, is, quite simply, the best eye-candy EVER, not to mention one heckuva great actor. Since I first “discovered” Lucifer a couple of years ago, I haven’t been able to watch anything else (apart from news media). My partner and I set aside Sundays as “Lucifer Day,” whereupon we binge all day. I couldn’t tell you how many times we’ve seen each episode, but you can bet it has been a LOT. I can’t see that we could ever change. We’re stuck, I guess, in a “Hell Loop.” And LOVIN’ every minute!
People magazine is for pr firms. They pay to have “stories” published for their clients. They also set up pretend romances between clients, I have seen the contracts. Their “awards” have zero credibility.
How nice, great it is to see network shows receive awards. Too many awards are given to cable programs which not everyone can afford …. Thanks to the powers that be for having the people’s voice!
I didn’t watch but was this held in person? Were people socially distanced? I saw no mention of it and def no masks. Just curious,
Supernatural should have gotten the syfi/fantasy award. Though Wyonna Earp is a good show it doesn’t have the years or fan base that Supernatural has worked for and the fan base it’s earned.
Why did riverdale not get nominated a lot it’s the best
