What all do we know about SEAL Team‘s very final easy days?
SEAL Team premiered on CBS in September 2017, with an original cast that included David Boreanaz, Neil Brown Jr., AJ Buckley, Toni Trucks, future Fire Country star/co-creator Max Thieriot, Jessica Paré and Judd Lormand.
Upon being renewed for Season 5, the series was shuttled over, midseason, to CBS’ streaming sister, Paramount+. SEAL Team was renewed for Season 7 in January 2023, and 10 months later it was announced that that would mark the military drama’s final mission.
“It has been a privilege to tell stories over seven seasons that honor the bravery and heroism of all who serve our country,” executive producers Spencer Hudnut and Christopher Chulack said in a statement. “We are deeply grateful to our amazing group of actors, writers, directors and talented crew, especially the hundreds of veterans who have worked on this show.
“While we wish we could continue to shine a spotlight on areas where we can do better for our service members even after Season 7 comes to an end,” the EPs added, “it is our hope that the collective SEAL Team community will stay in the fight when it comes to protecting our protectors.”
Now that SEAL Team has wrapped filming on its swan song, here is what we know so far about Bravo’s final deployment….
Original cast members David Boreanaz (as Jason Hayes), Neil Brown Jr. (Ray Perry), AJ Buckley (Sonny Quinn) and Toni Trucks (Lisa Davis) are all confirmed to be returning as series regulars, as is Season 6 addition Raffi Barsoumian (as Omar Hamza).
Fresh off his run as Superman & Lois‘ General Sam Lane, TV vet Dylan Walsh will stay in uniform and recur on SEAL Team as Captain Walch. “Recently appointed Commanding Officer of DEVGRU, Captain Walch is by the book,” reads the character description, “but he’s also politically-minded and may be clouded by his ambitions as he decides what to do with Bravo Team” in the wake of the Season 6 finale.
Additionally, Beau Knapp (The Lost Symbol) will fill the series regular role of Drew Franklin, a Chief Petty Officer with a checkered history whose assignment to Bravo Team is indicative of their “problem child status” in the eyes of higher-ups.
Production on SEAL Team Season 7 began in early December 2023, and wrapped this May.
Series lead/EP David Boreanaz reportedly let slip on social media an “August” window for the drama’s final season premiere, but that was quickly retracted — and nothing has been officially announced (as of June 2024).
In February 2022, at the same time that NCIS: Sydney was first put into development, it was also announced that Paramount+ was looking to deploy a standalone SEAL Team movie. Aiming to “expand the storytelling universe” for the military drama, the standalone movie was to come from the Paramount+ series’ creative team of star/executive producer Boreanaz, executive producer Christopher Chulack and showrunner Spencer Hudnut.
But in November 2023, when it was announced that SEAL Team would be decommissioned after Season 7, TVLine confirmed that the standalone movie had quietly been shelved.
During its original CBS run, SEAL Team seasons ran anywhere from 16 to 22 episodes.
Season 5, which began on CBS but moved over to Paramount+ midstream (no pun intended), was a total of 14 episodes, while Season 6 was a lean and mean 10.
TVLine can confirm that the series’ seventh and final season will also run 10 episodes, bringing the show’s grand total to 102.
Showrunner Spencer Hudnut gave no interviews pegged to or after the Season 6 finale, so we have no notable quotables to share on that front. And the cast has been good soldiers on social media while filming Season 7, letting slip no major intel.
OG cast member Neil Brown Jr. did speculate, in a May 2023 interview with the Talk4 podcast (watch video above), that Jason, Ray et al will have to pay for their overshare with the brass in the Season 6 finale.
“This show is full of surprises — and the surprises will keep coming,” Brown said, “but they’re very honest to life in the military, to life as a special operator in the military.” In the closing scene of the Season 6 finale, “Raymond put himself on the line, much like the rest of his brothers, and he’s going to have to pay for that — and the cost of war is steep. I think what we’ll see on the show is for everything positive, that looks great, that also will come with a cost, to balance.”

Season 6 left off, back in November 2022, with Bravo’s fate uncertain, given an impressive but possibly damning demonstration of solidarity.
Team leader Jason Hayes had disclosed — at his Navy Cross ceremony, no less! — his TBI and compromised state on recent missions, after which he was called on the carpet by superiors. “You created one hell of a mess, and left us no choice but to stand you down,” Blackburn announced.
But Ray interrupted that proceeding to reveal that he has been suffering PTS since his kidnapping, after which everybody else filed into the room — Sonny, Brock, Trent, Omar, and two dozen other operators, each recounting what specifically impairs them. Near-constant headaches. Tinnitus. Breacher syndrome. The inability to sleep. Blurry vision. Memory lapses. You name it.
“Thanks, brother,” Jason said to Ray beside him.
Ray scoffed, “What’s command gonna do, pull all our birds? Like you taught me, boss dog: Always improve your fighting position.”
The show would have probably kept more viewers if they hadn’t moved it to a streaming channel that you have to pay for. Isn’t it enough that we already pay outrageous prices for cable?
Amen, exactly, greedy SOB ‘s poor people don’t have a dog’s chance.
I looked forward to watching Seal Team every week. When thoe show was moved to Paramount +, that was my final decision to cut cable.

I have paramount+ but only getting 6 seasons why?
Season 7 doesn’t have a premiere date yet.
I know many did not like the change for SEAL Team from CBS to P+, but I loved it! It is so much better when shows are presented with uncensored scripts. ALL shows on ANY network should be able to utilize any language and visuals in their shows. Do we really need to censor still. Move everything to paid, streaming networks if needed or wake up to allow creators to include content that is real.
It’s been so long between 6 & 7, I’ve pretty much lost interest in the show. Plus with so many cast changes it’s not the show I once enjoyed watching.
