Regardless of what Mr. Holland says, both Missy and Mary were left in a very dark place. There were no indicators that better days were coming.
Sheldon’s move to Cal Tech, the big transitional event between the two shows, fell to the background.
Great show but the finale felt like a big flub.👎
I felt sorry for Mary and Missy, as it did indeed end with both of their characters having a hard time dealing with everything. It was dark but realistic. When we lose our loved ones, it takes a long time for things to feel even remotely normal and things can go haywire. Their stories fit with what we learned from The Big Bang Theory. Georgie said his mom and Missy were a mess after George died. Hopefully, we’ll hear bits about them (or fingers crossed – even see them occasionally) on the new series. I liked the finale. Thought they knocked it out of the park.
Loved it all but feel Mary and Missy were left hanging. Hope they include them in new Georgie show.
After Missy left the church before her baptism, I wish we could’ve gotten an apology to her mother and one final tearful hug between the two.
An outstanding final three episodes to one of the best sitcoms to ever air on TV. Big Bang was good but was lightyears behind its prequel.
The finale was a nice wrap and it was great to see Jim Parsons and Mayim Bialik back on the screen as mature, more-normal adults raising a family.
This was good Big Bnag was better.
Big Bang was excellent seasons 1-4, just average 5-11 and good again in it final season. YS was excellent throughout all seven seasons and went out at the right time, not overstaying its welcome like BBT appeared to do.
Don’t get me wrong. I really liked BBT, just thought YS was much, much better and far more consistent.
One thing they have never really addressed is how Sheldon – and with all his insecurities- was ever able to survive alone so far from home at at age 14.
This is an area that has been almost totally ignored in both shows.
ohh — I like these BBT reminders of when Mary and Missy appeared. is there another article with the same info for Georgie?
There is not. But he made just three appearances: Season 11, Episodes 23 and 24; and Season 12, Episode 4.
After watching Young Sheldon, you get to see how under used his sister was in the BIg Bang I know Hindsight is a wonderful thing but still. Hopefully this can get put right in one of these spin offs
If they want Georgie and Mandy show to succeed they better include Missy, Meemaw and Mary.
Would love to see them in the new series
IMO, as a fan of both shows since ep. 1, the new show SHOULD have Mom, Missy & Memaw as regulars. The entire family, as well as the new.
1.) I assume Georgie will sort-of take care of Mary and Missy (per season 11 episode on BBT) in the new show.
2.) I think Meemaw was the most interesting character on YS and should have the spin-off—
