ABC has relaunched its streaming service with not just a new name — ABCd — but a bevy of new bells and whistles.
For one, full seasons of 38 “throwback” series — including Brothers & Sisters, Felicity, My So-Called Life, Body of Proof and Sports Night — will be available via the free, ad-supported service.
Other past programs now streaming include 8 Simple Rules, Benched, Betrayal, Commander in Chief, Detroit 1-8-7, Dinosaurs, Dirty Sexy Money, Ellen, FlashForward, Happy Town, Hope and Faith, I Survived a Japanese Game Show, The Knights of Prosperity, Less Than Perfect, Manhattan Love Story, Mixology, My Generation, The Neighbors, October Road, Off the Map, Once Upon a Time in Wonderland, Perception, Reaper, Red Band Society, The River, Samantha Who?, School House Rock, Secret Millionaire, Smart Guy, Trophy Wife, Ugly Betty and What About Brian?
Additionally, ABCd will feature original content, including Boondoogle (watch it here), which stars Modern Family patriarch Ty Burrell as a 40something TV actor who has finally made it big (with the series Wingbot) and now hangs with his “non-tourage” of best buds (played by Joel Spence, Mel Cowan and Johnny Meeks). Other fresh fare includes Forever 31, starring comedian Iliza Shlesinger.
The ABC app also added live streaming for 14 markets — Albuquerque/Santa Fe, Boston, Fort Smith/Fayetteville/Springdale/Rogers, Jackson, MS, Kansas City, Milwaukee, Monterey-Salinas, Oklahoma City, Omaha, Pittsburgh, Portland-Auburn, Savannah and West Palm Beach-Ft Pierce — as well as improved its user interface for iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch (is that still a thing??) and Apple TV users.
Watch a sizzle reel for the shiny, new ABCd:
Does Felicity have it’s original music back in it?
Just checked & unfortunately Felicity does not include original music. Just not the same when watching it.
Why no Alias???
It’s available on Netflix. I recently got my fiancée into it and she’s loving it.
Awww FlashForward! I LOVED that show. Too bad this new streaming service doesn’t include an actual resolution for the series.
Where do you think Annabeth Gish wheeled off Christine Woods in the Finale?
Time to give Brothers and Sisters a TV revival for the final season we should have gotten!
A movie would work! I would love it.
What about Men In Trees??? How come we never get that underrated, gem of a show???
So true, I remember catching it a couple times back when Lost was late in its run and thought it was good then it got cancelled.
YES!!!! I loved that show and ABC acts like it never existed!! I wish they would make it available to watch too.
All of these shows were through Touchstone/ABC Studios, Men in Trees was a Warner Bros. show.
Felicity, Sports Night, DSM, Mixology, Trophy Wife!!!
OMG. I’m calling in sick tomorrow.
There was never a show just called Detroit. I bet they mean Detroit 187.
Indeed, I was just waiting on official confirmation of the typo in ABC’s press release.
Reaper!!
I was about to groan, “Ugh, another separate app,” and then I saw Brothers and Sisters and Sports Night. Alright, ABC. You got me.
