Bunk’d will not return for an eighth season on Disney Channel, TVLine has confirmed, marking the end of the network’s Jessie-verse after more than 12 years. The final 10 episodes are currently in production and are expected to air sometime in 2024.
“With a fantastic cast of characters and hilarious and [heartfelt] storylines, it’s no wonder Bunk’d has been one of Disney Channel’s longest-running and [most] successful live-action series,” Disney Branded Television President Ayo Davis says in a statement. “We’d like to thank our talented cast, creative team and crew for bringing tremendous joy and laughter to kids for seven incredible seasons.”
Created by Pamela Eells O’Connell, Bunk’d premiered in 2015 as a spinoff of the hit sitcom Jessie, sending several of its characters — Emma (Peyton List), Ravi (Karan Brar) and Zuri (Skai Jackson) — to Camp Kikiwaka for the summer. The show pivoted from a camp to a dude ranch in Season 6, with Disney renaming it Bunk’d: Learning the Ropes.
The final-season cast includes Miranda May as Lou Hockhauser, Mallory James Mahoney as Destiny Baker, Israel Johnson as Noah Lambert, Trevor Tordjman as Parker Preston, Shiloh Verrico as Winnie, Alfred Lewis as Bill and Luke Busey as Jake.

Still curious why this show isn’t on Disney+…
It’s because it’s on Netflix, and the reason why it’s on there is because due to Netflix getting the streaming rights to certain Disney shows before Disney+ was created it has to fulfill its contractual obligations. And the way I see it I don’t think Bunk’d will be coming to Disney+ until maybe 2028 or 2029 because if you remember Liv and Maddie being on Netflix since 2015 (with the show ending in 2017) and was added to Disney+ in April of 2021 (4 years after the show ended) it’s probably under the same contract clause as when those shows were on Netflix so we’re going to have a long wait before it comes to Disney+ (unless Disney pays off Netflix or they make some other deal where they can stream it on both services once the show is done and fulfill their contractual obligations).
You are correct. Bunk’d will leave Netflix in 2028. 4 years after the day the final season is added which should be around September 2024.
That’s a long wait so I suspect Disney will work something out the way they have just done for Grey’s Anatomy, the other show stuck in a legacy contract. :)
I’m disappointed but i’m going to miss watching the show and it had a great run after seven seasons.
Hi Andy,
I was wondering if you’d heard anything about the other Disney Branded TV series left pending. I’m sure I’m wrong, but I’m gonna say that this studio has more shows from 2023 left pending than any others. The entire Disney Channel live-action lineup seems cancelled, but nothing is out there.
I was happy to see the news on Bunk’d since I was expecting them to wait until the final episode aired to say anything. But then again, they still have been silent on that Raven’s’ Home Series Finale which was not promoted as one…
The DBT shows on Disney+ haven’t fared any better with actual news. Most of these shows ended in first half of year.
The Crossover (flop)
Secrets of Sulphur Springs
American Born Chinese (flop)
Pretty Freekin Scary (WGA registered season 2 scripts before the strike, but the series flopped)
Raven’s Home (Felt like a goodbye…)
Villains of Valley View (lead actress Isabella Pappas is working on Stranger Things stage show in UK until fall 2024…)
The Santa Clauses (this one is more recent, and not overdue for news)
I hope to learn the fates of these series in January. It will allow us to see just how much of a RESET Disney Channel is REALLY going to face. Please let the world know if you hear anything there are many fans wringing their hands.
Im sad it had to end
I haven’t watched Bunk’d or really liked it for a long time, but I was glad it was still on. It’s become somewhat of an institution on the Disney Channel in the last decade and I was hoping it would still be on for a lot longer. It’s one of the last remnants of the old Disney Channel from when it was still good, instead of just showing the same cartoons 24 hours a day now which they’ve been doing for the last year. It’s like they just gave up. I know a lot of the shows are on Disney Plus, but they should still have some of the older live-action shows on the actual channel on tv.
