Friday’s broadcast of The View was supposed to be a pre-taped episode, but those plans changed Thursday afternoon when Donald Trump was found guilty of all 34 felony charges in his ongoing hush money trial — as if this show would pass up the chance to celebrate what Joy Behar is presumably lobbying to make a national holiday.
“Yes, I’m here on a Friday, because this is a very unique moment in history,” Whoopi Goldberg began. “That’s why we’re all at the table. I’m going to say something you’ve never, ever heard me say before: Donald John Trump is a convicted felon.”
The announcement, despite Goldberg accidentally pronouncing “convicted” as “confected,” was met with ferocious applause from the studio audience. “This was not a Biden thing,” Goldberg added. Had he just paid the money, he would have been fine. … Instead, he was cheap, and that’s what you get!”
Behar then recalled where she was when she first heard the news: “I was at Costco buying 10 boxes of Keurig coffee. My watch started to buzz, and I got so excited, I started leaking a little bit.”
Alyssa Farrah Griffin, who previously worked as the White House’s director of strategic communications under Trump, admitted to being “somehow shocked” by the verdict, even though it was the outcome she expected. “My first thought was that I feared for the safety of the judge and the jury,” she said. “We live in a moment of violent political rhetoric. Knowing Donald Trump , there’s something in him that thinks he’s untouchable. I don’t think he thought it was going to come down this way.”
She added that “there is a world in which he could get away with this,” assuming he’s able to become president “before this is all adjudicated.” She warned Americans to “buckle up” because keeping himself out of prison will be “a hell of a motivator” for Trump in his next presidential campaign.

Regardless of where you stand on this and her view (pardon the pun), that headline almost made me lose my appetite.
I was having a good day till I read that but of TMI.
It is probably a common occurrence with her, being soaked.
I have the same problem with this that I have with Fox News pundits. I wish the glee was out of this. This is a sad moment in American history. Regardless of where you stand (and for clarity, I’m an independent who has never and will never vote for Donald Trump), this is a blight on our national history, and I wish it was treated with the seriousness that a situation like this deserves. This sounds like playground fights.
That’s how bad politics in this country has become, on both sides. Everyone is an immature child now. This is why we’ll always be divided and never be unified. Politicians, the media, and pundits on both sides of the aisle, including these “ladies” on The View, should all be ashamed of themselves. They need to grow up and learn to work together, otherwise we are doomed as a nation.
I find it hard to celebrate. It’s not something for Americans to be pleased about, that a former POTUS we elected is now a convicted felon. While it’s a positive sign that at the ground level the administration of equal justice under the law still exists, there are many political appointees in the Appeals Court and certainly SCOTUS who I’m sure would love to void this conviction while falsely touting the Constitution. Schadenfreude isn’t a good look on anyone, especially not when there’s still an election in November. Let’s keep our eye on the ball, and vote.
Let’s admit that neither candidate is viable for a variety of reasons. Do ethical people no longer choose politics as a career? I wouldn’t choose any of the front runners.
It’s a shame, this country needs Trump! You people are blind and don’t even see what’s in front of you. Sad! Republicans cheated last time to win and this time they paid off who they needed too, to get a guilty verdict. Shame on all of you that are alright with it. As far as the view, I can’t stand it and never have. Most are liars! I don’t care who doesn’t agree or don’t like my statement!
Your statement is nonsense and I disagree
with you!
If you believe what you’re spewing, you must own lots of
bridges by now😂.
“Republicans cheated last time to win and this time they paid off who they needed too, to get a guilty verdict.”
.
So *Republicans* rigged the case to secure a guilty verdict?
Bless your heart!
This country needs Trump as much as it needs Putin and his rhetoric.
when you cheer like that it’s difficult not to believe that whole trial was politically motivated
And if Obama had been convicted of 34 felonies, don’t tell me your side wouldn’t be celebrating like it was V-E Day.
No, I NEVER thought we would become like all those other countries (e.g., Russia, Latin American countries) where the opposition is jailed on trumped (definitely no pun intended) up charges. Truly a sad day for America!
Trump absolutely paid off a porn star and lied to try to cover the money trail. And he was too chickens#!t to take the stand in his own defense.
You do understand that many first world democracies have jailed former leaders/politicians for corruption/criminality?
This doesn’t make the USA a banana republic, it prevents it from becoming one. When you have a former leader with such an extensive trail of illegal activity, him finally getting punished for all of that is an affirmation of the rule of law, not the breakdown of it.
“when you cheer like that it’s difficult not to believe that whole trial was politically motivated”
.
That logic doesn’t follow at all.
Just because he is a politician doesn’t mean it was politically motivated.
If the only reason not to try someone for their crimes is that they are running for political office, the person probably shouldn’t be someone you want in political office.
Tell us seriously that if this were anyone other than a former President that they wouldn’t have been in prison years ago.
I just love how all of these democrats are so excited about Trump being guilty as if no democrat could have possibly committed a crime. Not the Clintons, not Biden, etc., etc. If we start bringing politicians to trial, we’ll be bringing all of them to trial. And I’m not saying Trump should have been on trial anyway. The whole thing was political & it was a sham of a trial!
The difference is, when Democrats commit a crime, the party turns against them. It’s why more than two dozen Senate Democrats have called on Bob Menendez to resign. For Republicans, corruption *is* the brand.
Simon Jester,
you’re absolutely accurate!
I don’t see anyone turning their backs on the Clintons, and you cannot tell me those people have not committed crimes. If you believe they are completely innocent, you are very naive.
Trump has been convicted in a court of law by a jury of his peers. Because that’s the way the legal system works in a democracy.
Of what crime has either Bill or Hillary been convicted? We’ll wait while you check.
When they get caught, they might turn against someone, but with the media, FBI, CIA etc… in their pockets that very rarely happens!!
You forced Santos on Long Island out but Menendez is not forced out with these allegations? You haven’t be kidding me. The Democrats stay with each other on lock step otherwise Pelosi will cut off their campaign funding
What’s leaking, your brain or your bladder?
I’m constantly impressed by the depth of research and expertise you bring to each post.
The viewpoints on the view are clearly meant for morons. I could never even consider friending a woman that liked the view and agreed with it. It is clearly the most lying form of manipulation I have ever heard. Every thing they say has been challenged over and over again for years and found to be LIES. I pity women that watch it
Nothing in politics has ever been so pleasing that I peed my pants. She’s a weirdo.
Love these ladies and I am so happy he was convicted. Finally America is holding Trump accountable.
Gosh with that amount of coffee in Joy’s costco cart can anyone say caffeine addiction ? Maybe that’s why she is so obnoxious on the view.
How crude. But I would not expect anything less from these idiots. It amazes me that this program is allowed to air. I as well as countless people have never watched one episode.! Why would anyone listen to a beautician for dead people turned actress & other clearly stupid people opine
I hope the VIEW gets CANCELLED. The VIEW does NOT REPRESENT ALL OF AMERICA. PROBABLY THE SO CALLED DEMOCRATS.
They are disgusting and disgraceful and disrespectful to our countries PRESIDENT at the time. I guess they agree burning the USA FLAG is also good.
Their HATRED FOR ANY POTUS IS DISPICABLE. CANCEL THE VIEW.
