Evil‘s just-announced ending was a result of Paramount+ decision-making and did not stem from the show’s creative team wanting to wrap things up, a since-deleted social media post from series star Katja Herbers suggests.
In a post made hours after news of the cancellation broke (and then later taken down), Herbers tweeted: “We’re all super sad @paramountplus has decided season 4 is our last.” Then she courted another streaming site for a possible pickup. “@netflix u up? Care to snatch up the goods??”

TVLine has reached out to Paramount+ for comment.
Earlier today, TVLine reported that the supernatural series would end with its upcoming fourth season, which will be augmented with four additional episodes to be shot in the near future. The drama’s swan song is slated to premiere sometime in May.
“We want to thank Paramount+ for giving us four bonus episodes to end Evil in the world in style,” series co-creators/showrunners/executive producers Robert and Michelle King said via statement. “We will miss this show and cast. In many ways it was a dream project, but sadly evil will outlast Evil. See you in May.”
In conjunction with the final season announcement, Paramount+ released a teaser trailer showing Herbers’ Kristen, Mike Colter’s David, Aasif Mandvi’s Ben, Michael Emerson’s Leland and several other members of the show’s cast. (Watch it here.)
Would you watch Evil on another network or streaming service? Sound off in the comments!
Why does every streaming network have 20 seasons of crap then cancel the great series like evil? If 10 billion people don’t binge it within 5 hrs of release it’s canceled, but absolute crap will go on forever cause of the critics. News flash nobody gives a s*!t what the critics say their taste is garbage.
Netflix PLEESE pick up Evil. I LOVE the show and
I LOVE all the characters on the show
As many have previously said, Evil is the only reason I subscribe to Paramount+, and believe me, once the 4th season is over, my subscription is done. Evil is far and away my favorite show, and should any other streamer pick it up, I’ll follow!
I can’t believe they are canceling EVIL after season 4!! Looks like I’ll be getting rid of paramount+ because that show is the only reason I keep it. That show has had nothing but great ratings so I’m a little confused on why they are canceling it. The writing is phenomenal and I love all the actors, (even evil Leland, lol). I’ve patiently waited almost 2 years for evil to return, just to be told its the last season. Hollywood finally gets a great show, (that isn’t a reality show for a change), and once again doesn’t last. SO disappointed and upset!!
I love 💜#EvilSeries so much and if it did go to another streaming service I follow I’m @katjaherbers 💜 biggest #fanboy 💜. 💯👿💜❤️🔥🥰
“EVIL” was the reason I subscribed to Paramount+. Sad to see it go so soon. I was also sad they didn’t renew “Joe Pickett”.
Such devastating news! Evil is my favorite show out right now. I’ve been dying for season 4 to be released. Now I’m super bummed to find out that’s the end of it. I hope they do it right! Please don’t end the show on some ridiculous plot lol. But I gotta say this is super saddening. We need more shows like this. I’m a fan of horror. And there’s never really any horror shows. Or I’ve watched the more popular ones. Anyone have any good recommendations I’m always up for something new to watch!
That’s awful! I was so looking forward to season 5 and the continuation of my favorite series. Hopefully, another service will pick it up.
Paramount isn’t very paramount on decisions. I really hope another network picks it up. This is a very well made show.
The first X File like show that knows how to sell a dramatic product.
I love this program and already subscribe to Paramount plus because I wanted to continue to watch this program. I am not going to subscribe to any more networks. I guess season 4 will be my last season thanks to Paramount plus for canceling it. I hate when that happens. Soon I will have no reason to subscribe at all.
They always cancel the good shows
I would absolutely watch EVIL on any other network. What a silly question!
Evil should continue
I would absolutely watch on another network. I like the plot[s]. Keeps me interested.
I would watch Evil no matter where it continues. Netflix and FX are excellent choices.
I would watch it wherever it might land. Netflix or FX are excellent choices.
Yes I would watch Evil on any network or streaming !!!
It is an awesome and original show!!! Someone please pick it up!!!! I’m not ready for it to end.
Moving Evil to Netflix would be a perfect move.
Netflix would be a perfect spot for Evil!
If #Evil 👿💜 went to another network I would follow I love 💜@Katjaherbers character Kristen and @mikecotlermike David so much and I think alot of fans would too. 💯👿💜🔥❤️🔥
Absolutely! I am so sad to see this show end. Especially now that I know the cast and creative don’t want it to end. Is there anything that can be done? This is one of the smartest and entertaining shows on television. I hope somebody picks it up.
… plus I will be canceling my subscription as email was the only show I watched on Paramount. And the only reason I subscribed to Paramount. Good luck.
Katja should NOT have removed her Tweet! She should take a page from Tom Ellis’ (Lucifer) playbook and keep that energy building.
Evil is the main reason that I subscribed to Paramount+. Netflix would be a good fit but I also think that FX or possibly HULU also. Awesome show. Too bad it was cancelled.
It’s a great show. I will follow it anywhere!
