FX on Wednesday released a trailer for FEUD Season 2 — which comes nearly seven years after the end of Season 1.
FEUD: Capote Vs. The Swans — the second installment in Ryan Murphy‘s critically acclaimed anthology — is based on Laurence Leamer’s book Capote’s Women: A True Story of Love, Betrayal, and a Swan Song for an Era, and chronicles author Truman Capote’s betrayal of his close female friends in the 1970s. Read on for the official logline:
“Acclaimed writer Truman Capote (Tom Hollander) surrounded himself with a coterie of society’s most elite women – rich, glamorous socialites who defined a bygone era of high society New York – whom he nicknamed ‘the swans.’ Beautiful and distinguished, the group included grande dame Barbara “Babe” Paley (Naomi Watts), Slim Keith (Diane Lane), C.Z. Guest (Chloë Sevigny) and Lee Radziwill (Calista Flockhart). Enchanted and captivated by these doyennes, Capote ingratiated himself into their lives, befriending them and becoming their confidante, only to ultimately betray them by writing a thinly veiled fictionalization of their lives, exposing their most intimate secrets. When an excerpt from the book, Answered Prayers, Capote’s planned magnum opus, was published in Esquire, it effectively destroyed his relationship with his swans, banished him from the high society he so loved and sent him into a spiral of self-destruction from which he would ultimately never recover.”
Rounding out the ensemble are Demi Moore as Ann “Bang-Bang” Woodward, Molly Ringwald as Joanne Carson, the late Treat Williams as Bill Paley, Joe Mantello as Jack Dunphy and Russell Tovey as John O’Shea.
The first season of FEUD, which aired way back in 2017, starred Susan Sarandon and Jessica Lange as Hollywood icons Bette Davis and Joan Crawford. The eight-episode installment, which earned two Primetime Emmy Awards and 17 additional nominations, followed Davis and Crawford’s relationship during and after the filming of their legendary 1962 movie What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?
FEUD: Capote Vs. The Swans will premiere its first two episodes on Wednesday, Jan. 31 at 10/9c on FX, simulcast with a special Director’s Cut of the first episode on sibling network FXX.
The eight-episode limited series will air weekly. All episodes, including the Director’s Cut, will be available to stream next day on Hulu.

What a cast! Will give it a shot.
I love an acting showcase miniseries!
How can I watch the first season
It’s on Hulu.
It’s on FX or FXX—regular cable so you don’t need to subscribe to a streaming service!
I love Diane Lane. I’ve missed her performances. She is very very underrated.
As someone who is not a fan of Ryan Murphy or his works, I must say, this does look good and very well cast.
Exactly the mid winter guilty pleasure I’ll need by the end of January!
I don’t have to watch a trailer to KNOW I will be watching!!
I don’t understand why Anne Woodward’s story isn’t included in this.
They had me at ‘Diane Lane’ – she’s awesome.
Can’t wait!
Can’t wait! I loved the book this is based on and to be able to see it unfold on the screen will be thrilling!!!
