Haley Pullos, who played General Hospital‘s Molly from July 2009 until May 2023, has been sentenced to three months in jail after pleading no contest to one of the charges against her — DUI causing bodily injury — stemming from her involvement in an April 2023 car crash.
TMZ reports that after completing her 90 days of jail time, Pullos will be placed on five years probation and have to perform 200 hours of community service. The 25-year-old actress will also have her driver’s license suspended for a year.
Last June, Pullos was charged with one felony count of DUI causing injury, one felony count of driving with a .08 BAC or higher, and one misdemeanor count of hit-and-run, after her car jumped over a Pasadena freeway barrier into oncoming traffic, leading to a head-on collision with another car. Edibles and mini bottles of tequila were reportedly found in her car by police, who determined that she had been driving under the influence.
TMZ reports that per the terms of Pullos’ plea deal, the other two charges detailed above were dropped. TVLine has reached out to Pullos’ representatives for comment.
The April 2023 car accident/aftermath led to Pullos stepping away from her role on General Hospital, with Holiday Mia Kriegel being the first of several to fill in as Molly Lansing-Davis. Kristen Vaganos has played the character since September.
GH star Nancy Lee Grahn, who plays Alexis Davis, spoke out via X on the sentencing of her onetime TV daughter, saying, “As Haley’s TV mom I can tell some truths about her as I’ve loved her since she was little girl. She made a HUGE mistake, knows it, owns it & has spent the last yr doing EVERYTHING imaginable to take responsibility 4 it.”
This January, Pullos was sued by the driver with whom she collided, and who was rushed to a hospital that night in critical condition. In court documents obtained by People.com, Pullos denied “generally and specifically each and every allegation” made in said suit.
How exactly has she owned it and done everything imaginable to take responsibility for it when she denied “generally and specifically each and every allegation” made by the victim. Seems to me all she’s done is follow the orders of her attorney to get out of this the best she can. My take, you don’t have to agree with me. I hope the victim gets every penny they’re asking for.
That is just a legal maneuver. If she agrees with everything alleged in a civil suit, the litigant basically owns everything Pullos owned until that point. You deny everything in the suit, and start negotiations.
.
Either way, Pullos’s life is basically over. She’ll lose most of her money in the suit. I’d guess that she’ll still work, because being a regular on a soap opera means that you are pretty good looking, and capable of working fast. So she’ll work, if only in guest roles or on bad Lifetime films. Much of that money will go to her lawsuit. And what little career she retains will essentially end shortly after her 40th birthday.
I know it’s a legal maneuver. My point is she has not taken any responsibility as is/was alleged by a certain co-star in the article above. As for her career I guess time will tell.
What you do privately can be very different from your legal arguments in a court of law. There are lots of immoral things that are not illegal, and lots of illegal things that are of questionable morality (neither immoral or moral, a grey area).
.
She’s 25 years old. Her lawyers aren’t going to let her set her entire life on fire to do the right thing.
.
This lawsuit will settle. It will involve a statement of remorse and guilt by Haley. We just aren’t there yet.
Yeah, all I was doing was commenting on the article above and the statements made. Not sure why I’m getting a lecture about the law but okie dokie.
Another Brandy Norwood got off super-super-easy. At least Brandy wasn’t drinking… apparently texting & driving.
What a slap on the wrist. Those found guilty of DUI should be in jail a minimum of 5 years and total forfeiture of all assets, and a loss of driving privileges for same 5 years. After a 3rd conviction it should be life.
So, lets spend millions of dollars incarcerating people, some of whom will have caused zero damage? You good with the massive tax increases across the board for this?
If it saves lives and gets those who could kill others off the road. By your illogic lets just slap them on the wrist until they kill a family, would >3 killed be enough to do something, or does that not fill the quota for action.
I’m just surprised that she didn’t get any court-mandated rehab.
Oh, this blew right past “rehab.” This will involve daily alcohol tests for a few months when she gets out. Then it will be a few times a week. Then once a week, then monthly. We are talking about a years long process.
.
The court DGAF about rehab at this point. They will simply punish her if she tests positive for intoxicants.
Anybody here being all judgmental and arrogant just sound more bitter miserable than ever in your lives.
And here you are judging them.
When you’ve had family members killed or injured by a drunk driver, you might get a bit judgmental too.
Said the person who has apparently never been hit by or had any family member hit by and injured or killed by a drunk driver. She was so drunk she was driving the wrong way on a highway and hit and injured someone for goodness sake. Yeah, I’m going to be judgmental about that. In this day and age with Uber there’s really no reason for that. She was working on a tv show so I think she can afford an Uber. The funny thing is on General Hospital a few years ago, her character’s mother is an alcoholic and hit someone while drunk driving so she really should know better after playing that whole storyline.
She went to rehab shortly after the accident. I don’t know how long she was there, I don’t know whether she was really working the program, I don’t know what other measures she has taken since leaving rehab, I don’t know whether she still ingests substances today. But I’m sure she submitted documentation of her rehab stint to the court, and I presume her lawyer framed it as a “proactive” action. Although it’s really a “reactive” action after she chose to drive under the influence and almost kill someone.
There have been a few people who have been able to breakout from soaps the last decade or so, after it seemed like it would never happen again, and sadly Haley Pullos didn’t for a variety of reasons.
I was always impressed with her work and remember people would rave about her to the adults when they did red carpet interviews or TV appearances. I thought for sure she would become a star.
People make mistakes and it sounds like she is taking responsibility for what she did. I am sure people will attack me for “worrying about the perpetrator and not the victim!” when that is not what I am doing. I just simply hope that Haley is able to put her life together and move forward after this. Our goal as a society should be second, third and fourth chances if people truly learn from what they did. Too often we enjoy the downfall of others, when it doesn’t benefit us in any way. As Kacey Musgraves eloquently put it, “Pissin’ in my yard won’t make yours any greener.”
Wow! Yeah, that will teach her a lesson… NOT! Another slap on the wrist for an entitled brat who will most likely commit similar or even worse offenses in the future. And WTF is wrong with Nancy Lee Grahn who has always believed in doing the right thing at all times? What if Grahn’s beautiful daughter, Kate, had been a victim of someone like Pullos? Major incredulity all around.
Even one day in jail should be a wakeup call for her. Hope Haley learns a lesson from this and makes better decisions in the future.
May God go with you, Haley! Everyone makes errors in judgement one time or another! Our heavenly Father forgives!
