The Impractical Jokers crew has much to celebrate. In addition to resuming production on Season 9 later this month, truTV has announced that it has ordered 10 additional episodes of quarantine offshoot Impractical Jokers: Dinner Party, expanding its run to 18 episodes.
What’s more, sister network TBS has renewed The Misery Index for Season 3. The Jameela Jamil-hosted game show, which features Joe Gatto, James “Murr” Murray, Brian “Q” Quinn and Sal Vulcano — aka The Tenderloins troupe — as panelists, will go back into production this fall. The second half of Season 2, which has already been filmed, will premiere in October.
Last but not least, Impractical Jokers: The Movie, which hit theaters way, way back on Feb. 21, will be available to stream on HBO Max as of Tuesday, Sept. 1.
“The Impractical Jokers franchise continues to deliver each and every time,” TNT, TBS and truTV GM Brett Weitz said in a statement. “The plan is continue to grow their business from an incredibly solid foundation and deliver to a passionate fan base that’s second to none.” [pmc_inline_gallery]
Added the Tenderloins, “We’re excited to continue growing the Impractical Jokers franchise with WarnerMedia. We’re excited to use the word franchise. Each new project or season, we are pushing ourselves to make it bigger, better and funnier than the last. Thanks to our insanely loyal fans over the past year, we’ve really been able to stretch ourselves and have had a blast bringing projects to life, including our first feature film and a TV show filmed from our separate homes.”
Are you a fan of the Impractical Jokers franchise?
Does Tru TV air anything but this show? It’s like a continuous loop of episodes from one program. Nothing against the show but if Tru-TV isn’t serious about programming a channel, then take it off the air already.
When will the impractical jokers dinner party start up again. It is the best!!!!
Was looking so forward to seeing you guys In Charlotte nc. I do understand why show was canceled but I hate the fact. Won tickets in a hard contest and had since Jan. Just want you all to know that North Carolina loves and misses you
WooHoo!! Best show ever, and such a great group of guys and crew!! Hardest working gang in the entertainment industry =) love ya Brian (Q), Joe, James (Murr), and Sal & Crew
I love that Tru TV plays so many re-runs of Impractical Jokers. A true fan wouldn’t mind it.
It is the show that makes me smile and laugh daily!!! I love it! Looking forward to everything coming new. Excited to see what ideas they come up with for challenges.
I would like it though if they played some earlier repeat season episodes more and mix it up.
I have watched a few of the regular episodes of the show and a TON of “Inside Jokes” (to the point I would rather Casey join “Saturday Night Live” than I read Colin’s book). However, I have only watched one episode I think was of “Dinner Party”, & only enjoyed it (if that’s what it was) due to a non-Tenderloins guest.
Also, they did some sort of show locally, and I don’t regret skipping it.
Lastly, the only news about “Index” I am awaiting is its cancellation so Jameela can find the thing she should’ve signed on for after “Good Place” was over. (Off the top of my head, maybe Mars Investigations needs to open a new multiracial group for a Rob-fronted dramedy.)
