Joe Biden Agrees to ABC News Interview Following First Presidential Debate — Find Out When It Airs
President Joe Biden will sit down with ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos for his first televised interview since his poor performance at the first presidential debate opposite Republican challenger Donald Trump.
POTUS will be interviewed on the campaign trail Friday by Good Morning America and This Week anchor George Stephanopoulos. A first look will air later that evening, on World News Tonight with David Muir.
The full interview will air Friday as a primetime special at 8/7c on ABC, and then again in its entirety on Sunday’s installment of This Week. A full, unedited transcript of the interview will also be made available on Friday.
The interview comes amid calls for Biden to forfeit the Democratic nomination following his showing at the June 27 debate. Nearly 70% of all TVLine readers said that Trump trounced Biden.
One day later, Biden addressed his most vocal critics during a rousing speech in North Carolina. “I know I’m not a young man,” he said. “I don’t walk as easily as I used to. I don’t talk as smoothly as I used to. I don’t debate as well as I used to, but I know what I do know: I know how to tell the truth. I know right from wrong. And I know how to do this job, I know how to get things done. And I know what millions of Americans know: When you get knocked down, you get back up.”
On Monday, Biden gave a televised address following a landmark Supreme Court decision that says Trump may claim immunity from criminal prosecution for official acts done during his time in office. He decried the decision and warned about its repercussions on our system of government, calling it “a dangerous precedent, because the power of the office will no longer be constrained by the law.” Biden added that the decision made it “highly, highly unlikely” that Trump will stand trial for election interference before Nov. 5, and that it would be up to the American people to “render a judgment on Donald Trump’s behavior” in the upcoming election.

Yes, I’m sure it will be early, he will have all the questions in advance, his answers will be prepared and it will be edited where necessary. Seriously it proves nothing. Theres no unseeing that debate and it’s not just the debate. If you look online there are plenty other falls and times he seemed disoriented or not to know what he’s talking about that the so called “news” aren’t showing you. Even democrats are calling for him to step down. I am by no means a Trump supporter but not a supporter of Biden either. So many people complained last time about the two choices yet they voted for the same two candidates? What is wrong with people, wake up.
And yet he’s still more coherent than Convicted Felon Word Salad. Not to mention, y’know, not a convicted felon. And honest.
Plus he beat Medicare!
He wasn’t honest about his condition or his readiness to continue serving as president. And he clearly wasn’t honest when he blamed his poor debate performance on jet lag from a trip he took 12 days earlier. I do think he was honest in admitting he almost fell asleep during the debate.

Nope, that title has been done to death by FOX NEWS when interviewing trump.
Either another trainwreck or so heavily filtered and handled that it will be robotic at best. I cannot stomach Biden. Don’t think he can even handle finishing this term.

Every Biden interview should be live, no presubmitted questions, no notes and no helpers including his wife. No breaks either.
And every trump interview should have a fact check box in the corner.
I would say the same thing for Biden’s interview. When he can form a sentence, he lied according to the first debate. Whether he lied one time or thirty times HE LIED TOO!
Yup and let’s have accountability for all not just one party. It would be nice if as a Democrat we could all freely say my guy lied, my guy is old, my guy needs to get his sh#% together etc etc. But political party’s have devolved into sports teams. So since Republicans can’t admit that their guy is unstable, I don’t think its fair to point out bidens downfalls without also acknowledging trumps. Both guys should not be running, but they are and I think it’s dangerous to say that Biden is on the same level as Trump. Ill take one lie over 30 sir.
Are you serious? Biden has been lying for decades and decades. A week or two ago he told everyone about how his uncle had crashed in a plane in Africa and been eaten by cannibals.
And let’s not forget how Biden’s helicopter was “forced down” in Afghanistan near Osama bin Laden’s lair, or how he was “shot at” while in Iraq or how his Delaware house almost burnt down (it was actually just a small kitchen fire). Biden’s exaggerations are weirdly similar to those of the former NBC newsman Brian Williams who was famously removed from his job as Anchor on the NBC Nightly News.

Every word Trump says would need to be checked. He is a pathological liar.
It won’t be live. So, in other words, it’s an edited, fake, spoon fed interview with the DNC in control. At this point, it’s over for Biden. The media has run cover for him long enough – now it’s time to stop. Just stop. Nothing that comes out of the media is honest or unbiased. The reality is that Americans need to ask themselves — who’s running our country? As we look weak and impotent, the world is burning. We can all thank the medias incessant butt kissing of the Washington establishment. Biden is sitting down and will be “talking” to George S. with answers he’s already been given. It’s pathetic and our country has become a shameful shadow of our glorious days of strength and prosperity.
Here comes the media doing all they can do to cover for Biden to show he is competent and have him on as many interviews as possible to recover from the truth of the debate.
Questions and answers will be provided to him in advance and what we see will have been heavily edited. Shame on his family. This is elder abuse.
I think what every person that is skeptical about Biden should do, is look up the facts of a person that stutters. The nervousness they feel speaking in front of people with the spotlight on him, and the ways they make mistakes in their words. Why do you think he’s not made speeches and done the least amount of interviews of any president?
America needs to give President Biden a chance to redeem himself. Wait until after the interview to make a decision on what he should do. You better save your country through the democrats and not give Trump a chance because Trump will definitely ruin the USA!! The country will be a dictatorship if Trump wins, among a whole lot of other criminal things he will do to the country. He’s a very dangerous choice for the country and for the whole world.
I’m looking forward to watching President Biden in the upcoming interview and I think he’ll do a great job in showing the people what he’s capable of…even at his age.
I’ve been around stutters, please stop using this sad excuse. His issue have nothing to do with it. We have years of the man on video and he speaks fine for several decades without stuttering. Go back a few years and he’s not like this at all. Stutters do not zone out when talking. Nice try.

To me the key fact is that after President Biden met with his doctor, he invited many Democratic Governors to the White House for a meeting. Nothing has been released about what was discussed, and even if it were released, would anyone believe it? I am an Independent and also am no Trump supporter, but I believe that Biden should step down now. There is no point to the farce of the Democratic Convention with all of the doubt about his true health and whether or not he can continue as President.
Who cares… it isn’t live or in the evening. I respect his years of service. However, he needs to relinquish his 2024 bid and support Harris as the top of the ticket! He just isn’t up for running 4 more year, age isn’t forgiving.
