Anxiously awaiting the new season of Serial? Got a backlog of Dateline mysteries on your DVR? Still not over that finale of The Jinx?

Then Netflix‘s next project is perfect for you.

The streaming service on Monday announced its plans for Making a Murderer, a 10-part documentary crime series chronicling the story of Steven Avery, who served 18 years on a rape conviction before DNA linked another man to the crime.

“There are an unbelievable number of twists and turns in the story arc of Making A Murderer, it feels like it has to be fictional,” said Lisa Nishimura, vice president of original documentary programming at Netflix. ” [Directors Laura] Ricciardi and [Moira] Demos have navigated very complex terrain and skillfully woven together an incredible series that leaves you feeling like you’re right in the middle of the action.”

Making a Murderer will debut worldwide on Friday, Dec. 18.
