Obliterated‘s title has proven all too accurate: Netflix has cancelled the action-comedy series after one season. Its freshman finale, which dropped on Nov. 30 with the rest of the Season 1 episodes, now serves as its series finale.
Hailing from Cobra Kai creators Jon Hurwitz, Josh Heald and Hayden Schlossberg (along with Cobra Kai producer Dina Hillier), Obliterated followed an elite special forces team who thwarted a deadly threat to Las Vegas… only to discover, after their debauchery-filled celebratory party, that the bomb they deactivated was a fake. Now intoxicated, the team was forced to fight through their impairments, overcome their personal issues, find the real bomb and save the world.
Shelley Hennig (Teen Wolf) and Nick Zano (Legends of Tomorrow) led the cast, along with C. Thomas Howell, Kimi Rutledge, Paola Lázaro, Terrence Terrell, Alyson Gorske and Eugene Kim.
When asked about the potential for a second season, Hurwitz, Heald and Schlossberg told TVLine that although “nothing’s promised,” they were “hopeful that the world reacts to the show like we hope they do.”
“We fall in love with our characters and everything we write, and the movies that we wrote throughout our careers have had sequels,” the EPs said at the time. “As long as there are bad guys in the world, then there’s the potential for our team to come together and party and hopefully save the day elsewhere.”

This news sucks. I thoroughly enjoyed this series! was hoping for another season.
This show was so good
I’m confused. I remember it being in the top streaming category for at least a week or two and having really good reviews
it was it did BIG numbers!
then why would Netflix cancel it? Those rankings are rigged to hype up new series.
Plus, cost. AND plans for the future. If the show was too expensive, or the plan for S2 was terrible, it’s gone.
Another 1 and done for Netflix. These short series are a real trend the last few years in streaming.
It was a good story with a good ending and 0 cliffhanger. Better than hundreds of shows that get cancelled with a cliffhanger
I understand why it got canceled. Kinda hard for a “special force” to get obligated again after their first mistake almost cost the destruction of Vegas. But I really wanted it to have a second season.
This show was barely even promoted by Netflix—-I’d never ever heard of it until just over a week ago, and that’s only because I came across a review of it online. There are so many shows on Netflix and other streaming services, and frankly, a huge number of them barely get any promotion at all—I never even saw a trailer for this one. I did see a clip from it, and it did look hilarious.
Wasn’t this on Netflix top as 1 so was it cancel if apparently it was being watch so much it was number 1 on top 10 list 👀 so Netflix be lying and putting these shows as number mmmmmmm 👀👀👀
Awesome show, but it’s hard to see how a second season would have been any good. I’d have watched the attempt, though.
I enjoyed the series, but it pretty much told the whole story… Not everything needs a second season.
Truly one of the worst shows I’ve ever seen, for once i’m glad to see Netflix cancel something
Nicole crying here again. Maybe if you watched the first ep like 15min, but it really gets better and is actually funny. But hey stick with your brainless soap operas then.
It figures, it was good! My picky husband liked it, now that’s saying something and he doesn’t watch tv! I loved it, it was funny.
Not really surpised to be honest. Was somewhat decent so expected.
Oh mein. I know the story was done…but it was sooo funny, I totally would have watched another….
Aww..My wife and I loved it!
i actually really liked it
I am bummed I liked it and was curious to see the teams adventures etc
Never heard of it before
Dang. I was hoping for more maya & jeremy. Course not sure how much MORE we could have seen of him
Bring it back…was VERY ENTRTAINING and new
Yes this sucks Netflix always cancel great shows and keep shows that no one is watching what’s wrong
Not the best show but it is a fun story and it was made well.
I haven’t seen it on this side of the pond so bad promotion might also be a factor. Good to know it has
an ending
It’s a shame, it was definitely the best new Netflix series in 2023. At least it doesn’t end on a cliffhanger.
I watched one episode. The series was obviously just a disgusting excuse to mix drama with porn. Typical progressive Liberal Hollywood garbage. Glad it was canceled.
If that’s your takeaway I have to ask if we watched the same show. Either that or you’re uptight and don’t know how to appreciate a smart and cleverly executed series.
Drama and porn? Whatever, troll. You must have liked something about it, because you still went ahead and watched it, lol.
It is a great show. Don’t kill it.
Why does Netflix do this Everytime they have something good, they are good shows but why aren’t given a chance to be watched because they cancelled it I enjoyed the series.
typical… cancel good shows continue with crap. that’s politically correct or reality TV?
