Maxine Delacorte-Simmons isn’t done ruffling feathers in Palm Beach, now that Apple TV+ has renewed Palm Royale for Season 2.

The pickup comes one month after the Kristen Wiig comedy’s Season 1 finale, which was released on May 8.

“We are so thrilled to hear about Season 2,” series star/executive producer Laura Dern said in a statement Thursday. “[Fellow executive producer] Jayme [Lemons] and I (with Jaywalker Pictures) have been dreaming up this project for so long in hopes that audiences would have delicious fun with the radical ride that is the world of Palm Royale. We all can’t wait to get started!”

Adds Apple TV+ head of programming Matt Cherniss: “Palm Royale has delighted global audiences and we are thrilled that viewers will have the opportunity to spend more time with this highly entertaining, iconic cast, from Kristen Wiig to the incomparable Carol Burnett. We can’t wait for everyone to experience the next brilliantly witty chapter in the lives of the Palm Beach high society set that [showrunner] Abe Sylvia, Kristen, Laura Dern and this incredible team behind the show have brought so vibrantly to life.”

Set in high society Palm Beach in 1969, Palm Royale is “a true underdog story that follows Maxine (Wiig) as she endeavors to break into Palm Beach high society,” according to the official logline. “As Maxine attempts to cross that impermeable line between the haves and the have-nots, Palm Royale asks the same question that still baffles us today: ‘How much of yourself are you willing to sacrifice to get what someone else has?'”

Wiig leads an all-star ensemble that includes the aforementioned Dern and Burnett, as well as Allison Janney (Mom), Ricky Martin (The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story), Josh Lucas (Yellowstone), Leslie Bibb (Popular), Amber Chardae Robinson (Loot), Mindy Cohn (The Facts of Life), Julia Duffy (Newhart) and Kaia Gerber (American Horror Story) and Bruce Dern (Nebraska).

The series’ three-episode launch earned an average reader grade of “A-.”
