Power Book II: Ghost to End With Season 4 on Starz — Watch Trailer
The Power-verse giveth, and the Power-verse taketh away.
Just one day after putting the prequel series Origins into development, Starz has announced that Power Book II: Ghost will end with its upcoming fourth season.
The swan song will be split into two parts, the first of which debuts on Friday, June 7 at 8/7c, with the second half kicking off on Friday, Sept. 6, at 8 pm. Starz has also unveiled a new teaser trailer for the final season, which you can watch above.
“This explosive season of Ghost is a fitting crescendo in a decade of an immensely popular franchise. Fans will not be disappointed,” said Kathryn Busby, Starz’s president of programming. “While this marks the conclusion of one chapter, our commitment to the Power universe endures with more compelling storytelling on the horizon.”
The first of several Power spinoffs, Book II: Ghost debuted in September 2020 and has followed Tariq St. Patrick (Michael Rainey Jr.) as he attempts to balance his new life as a college student with mounting pressure to save his family. According to the official logline, Season 4 will find Tariq and Brayden Weston (Gianni Paolo) forming new alliances and finding a way back into the game. “But when Brayden starts flirting with a new, reckless lifestyle,” the description reads, “Tariq wonders if there really is room for two at the top.”
Elsewhere in the Power-verse, Power Book III: Raising Kanan is currently filming its fourth season in New York, and Power Book IV: Force is in production on Season 3 in Chicago. Earlier this week, Starz announced its plans for the potential prequel series Origins, which will explore the backstories of fan-favorite OG characters Ghost and Tommy (played in the mothership by Omari Hardwick and Joseph Sikora).

At the same time I am not mad because we get to see how it end and plays out and plus power ghost book two was amazing show. And at least we made it to four seasons and also get to see how it ends. I am not mad that they are canceled it because the actors and actress want to move on to another thing that they want to do. And plus I am happy with only have four seasons and not more. And Michael is tired of playing Tariq and wants to do something different. I am happy that I get to see the story of young ghost and Tommy soon. And power ghost book two been on long enough so it’s time to move on and see a new show.

I will Cancel my subscription first of all Stars this is better than Power. And the story line can go on forever but you choose to take off the Best show everrrr. Ok count me out I cannot stand you for this Stupid decision. I hate you for this like I did when Oprah took off Love is. I guess I will have more time for family. Forget YOU.
I’m disappointed because I love Ghost. But maybe they feel they can’t the show any further. I hope Orgins will be good. We still have Power and Raising Kanan

I am super disappointed 😞. I love powerbook 2, Ghost. Tariq’s story is intriguing and leaves you sitting at the edge of your seat. You always wonder what he’s going to do next. Can’t Stars extend the series up to season 6 atleast. Will definitely miss the likes of Tate, Davis, Braden, The Tejada family and of course my fav.Tariq. is there a particular reason why Stars decided to end Powerbook ll Ghost? Please bring it back. 🙏
I suspect STARZ will pull the good ‘ol–(use black culture for a come up, then switch to product placement of white shows) I hope this is not the case but I ain’t holding my breath.
They are already doing it. Take note.
The proof in the pudding is if Power Book Ghost finale isn’t dynamic, in conjuction w/ the new Orgins prequel and BOTH remain as successful as the OG books.

oh noo! Ghost is my favorite show of the franchise, I like it so much more than the OG Power and I loved the OG show. Ghost hits so much harder because we’ve been following Tariq for ten years. I hope the finale does the show justice, because it’s been impeccable.
Tariq is a much more interesting and layered character than Kanan and Tommy, it’s too bad to see this show end.

Wow I can’t believe this loved this show we have all supported Starz because of the power book franchise I will cancel my subscription with Starz if this happens with any of the other power book series so sad omg these shows are amazing and important to us. May want to rethink this I’m just saying.

I was hoping Power Book with Tariq would continue on for a while longer. it is such an awesome series.You get Mystery, Drama, Action, and Romantic all in one. Fire! Tĥis show is the only reason why I even had stars. I love that show. Hopefully, the show will continue on in the future on a different streaming service.

This is very disappointing news.
“Truth” fully speaking I thought the. Chapter of Power: Book 2 would conclude after its 6th Season. I believe this could have tied up most of the storylines. I am not sure if the writers can do so in 4 seasons. Hopefully, they will succeed in doing so but highly unlikely. I think the expenses of this spinoff has gotten too high and some of the salary demands of some of the cast have become excessive.

Yes I’m bummed that it’s ending!!!!!! What is wrong with Starz and 50!!!!! First you kill off Ghost and now this?!?! Man you get invested in these shows and see so much growth and expansion they can do with the characters instead of killing off someone almost every week it crazy!!!! So disappointed with this news and you’re wrong for doing it!!!
It’s ok if Starz is ending this show, but I don’t want to see Tariq dead or in prison because if I do that means you are going to give me Season 5 and show me where you bring him out From Prison or back from the dead
