Rap Sh!t Cancelled at Max After 2 Seasons
Rap Sh!t fans are about to utter a few more four-letter words: The comedy series has been cancelled at Max after two seasons, TVLine has learned.
“We are extremely grateful to Issa Rae for creating Rap Sh!t, a one-of-a-kind comedy with compelling social commentary that reached viewers in a way only Issa’s talents can accomplish,” a Max spokesperson said in a statement. “A huge thank you to Issa, showrunner Syreeta Singleton and the teams at Hoorae and 3 Arts Entertainment for introducing us to Shawna and Mia, a duo whose journey fans have been invested in and who they have continued to root for through everything. We’ll never get Seduce and Scheme out of our heads and we wouldn’t have it any other way.”
Rap Sh!t centered on Shawna Clark (Aida Osman) and Mia Knight (KaMillion), a pair of estranged high school friends from Miami who reunited to form a rap group. Its Season 2 finale, which released on Dec. 21, 2023, now serves as the show’s series finale.
It’s been a tough start to the new year for fans of Max originals: Earlier this month, the streamer also axed pirate comedy Our Flag Means Death and biopic series Julia, both after two seasons.

This is so dumb, this was just a good show. Honestly better than Insecure.
I guess Max is heading to closure and that the few remaining shows (And Just Like That, Peacemaker) will continue on HBO. Regarding “PLL Original Sin” and “Tokyo Vice”, they’ll decide based on season 2’s views. Animated comedies like “Harley Quinn” and “Velma” maybe will air on Adult Swim.
Max Originals will mostly based on IP , The Penguin is premiering later this year , Welcome To Derry is due in 2025.
I can’t see much future for Hacks and Sex Lives Of College Lives after their current seasons.
This is so disappointing… Rap Sh*t got even better during its second season. I was very curious to see where the series would go, especially with that ending. Damn. 😔

Our Flags and now Rap Sh!t? How about And Just Like Crap, because that show is terrible and is nothing like it’s great predecessor. If not cancel, it at least needs to do a serious overhaul, i.e. get rid of Che Diaz.

I’m completely bummed. This show was sooo good. MAX is making a huge mistake. I hope another network picks it up.
We love Rap Shit.. The acting is superb, it’s funny, and it’s relatable. It’s the only reason I have HBO MAX.. Can the show go to another network.. Because I’ve been waiting on season 3.
