Another big extraterrestrial battle is brewing: NBCUniversal has renewed Resident Alien for Season 4, TVLine has learned. However, the series will be changing networks, moving from Syfy to USA Network.
The episode count for the new season remains TBA.
Based on the Dark Horse comics series of the same name, Resident Alien follows a crash-landed alien (Alan Tudyk) whose original mission was to kill every living being on the planet. But after spending time on Earth and making friends in the town of Patience, Colo., he changed course and set about on a new plan: To save humanity from other races of aliens who want to claim the world as their own.
In the Season 3 finale (which aired Wednesday, April 3), Harry, with help from unlikely ally Joseph, thwarted the Greys’ Earth-destroying Yellowstone plan. D’arcy (little “a”!), meanwhile, helped save Kate and Ben’s baby, Sheriff Mike finally came face-to-face with an alien and Liv was reunited with the alien tracker.
In addition to Tudyk, Resident Alien stars Sara Tomko, Alice Wetterlund, Corey Reynolds, Levi Fiehler, Elizabeth Bowen, Meredith Garrettson and Judah Prehn. The series also boasts an impressive list of guest stars including Edi Patterson (The Righteous Gemstones), Terry O’Quinn (Lost), Enver Gjokaj (Invasion), Gary Farmer and Sarah Podemski (Reservation Dogs), and Linda Hamilton.
Resident Alien was adapted to television by executive producer Chris Sheridan, who has served as showrunner since its launch and remains at the helm for the upcoming fourth season. Mike Richardson and Keith Goldberg of Dark Horse Entertainment, Justin Falvey and Darryl Frank of Amblin TV and Nastaran Dibai also executive-produce.
Will you be joining Harry and co. for their fourth run? Light up the comments and let us know.
I was just hoping this was going to get renewed. It’s a miracle!
Love this show. I don’t love that the women are portrayed as strong and the leads where as the men are ALL goofballs. It give an unnatural feel to the story line. The writers give a matriarchal position to the show and it is obvious. If a show is artificially pushed to a male or female direction then typically I choose to watch something else. I don’t appreciate agenda pushing in media. However this is a good show. Hopefully it doesn’t take a path of self destruction like others do unfortunately. Example being walking dead who killed off main loveable characters and lost its audience. I am a faithful fan for now and hope woke Hollywood stays out it. Let natural flow be your direction.
THANKFully it’s renewed!! SyFy or USA…I don’t care…this is my fave show!!!
Yes, this skin bag can’t resist more seasons!!!
Absotively & posilutely I will be watching the next season. Love the show!
Huh, I sort of wonder if I have the usa network, I really should as my Sling blue is more NBC centric than others which seem to have an abc bent. But it would kind of make sense, I had read that USA is thinking of restarting a variation of its “Blue Sky” network days and even though there are aliens and what not and potential end of the world storyline, it kind of more fits that mold because its more actually about a small town that happens to be a hot bed of alien activities. And like its funny more often than not, but not necessarily laugh out loud funny (there are some of those)
It’s brilliant. Laugh out loud funny. Allen Tudyk is remarkable
Yes absolutely love this show, especially Darcy she is a root and from small town we all have a Darcy.
Thanks USA Network
Matthew

Wahoo! I am beyond excited. Season 3 was excellent. I love all of the characters on this show and it’s a great ensemble cast.
Yes I really love resident alien
Glad to see it’s renewed! Yes, I’ll follow that show anywhere. Mr. Tudyk makes that show! I loved it when his good friend and former co-star Nathan Fillion guest star as the voice of the octopus/ailen. So good.
