Snowpiercer‘s farewell season will be pulling into the station this summer.
Season 4 of the TNT transplant — previously earmarked for an “early 2025” release — instead will premiere exclusively on AMC and AMC+ Sunday, July 21, at 9/8c. Watch a teaser trailer above.
Seasons 1 and 2 of Snowpiercer are now streaming exclusively on AMC+. Season 3 lands on the streamer Saturday, June 8.
“We can’t wait to share the final season of this thrill ride of a series with this vibrant fan community and new viewers starting July 21,” Courtney Thomas, EVP of Streaming for AMC Networks, said in May. “Snowpiercer is an entertaining drama with a great cast and seeing how the ride ends will be a highlight of summer viewing worthy of a 1001-car train.”
Snowpiercer‘s original home, TNT, greenlit Season 4 in July 2021, six months before Season 3 made it to air. Five months later, the cabler announced that Season 4 would conclude the sci-fi series’ “successful, multi-season run.” Seasons 1-3 were subsequently scrubbed from Max.
At the time that TNT derailed Snowpiercer, the network said in statement, “This was a difficult decision, but our admiration for the talented writers, actors and crew who brought Snowpiercer’s extraordinary post-apocalyptic world to life remains strong. We have been working collaboratively with the producers since last year to help the series find a new home where fans can continue to enjoy the compelling story and exceptional visual experience. We look forward to working with them on future projects.”
When AMC ultimately rode to the rescue in March, Season 4 showrunner Paul Zbyszewski said: “We’re so thrilled the train has finally found a home, and we’re incredibly grateful to everyone at AMC and Tomorrow Studios for giving the fans of Snowpiercer a chance to enjoy Season 4 with all the hard work this amazing cast and crew put into it.”
New for Season 4 are Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. favorite Clark Gregg and The Americans‘ Michael Aronov in undisclosed roles. Additionally, Zbyszewski (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Helstrom) took over as showrunner, succeeding EPs Graeme Manson and Aubrey Nealon.

I definitely feel the same. TNT now has a chance to do the funniest thing ever by picking up Demascus which was set to premiere on AMC before being shelved.
Welp, I finally might have to check out this series. Could be a good summer series to explore.
Woo hoo!! 👏👏👏👏
About time!!
Definitely looking forward to its return!! 👏👏👏
Yes!!!! Fantastic news. I love this show and was very bummed we’d maybe never see how it ends. Now we will. I’ll binge watch S1-S3 again in preparation once all available. Hopefully they release all on blu-ray. I’m buying physical media again because they like to purge content.
Wow, so I actually get to see the last seasons of both this, and Lazarus Project. Something’s wrong here….
As a lifelong New York Knicks fan, I never thought I would thank Jim Dolan for anything. But thank you AMC for airing the show and saving fans from Zaslav’s disgusting decision.
So happy to finally see this! Been waiting and hoping and when AMC said yes, but not until next year, I was a little bummed! Nice birthday present for me! (Not clear, will it drop all at once?)
Since it’s premiering on AMC (and AMC+), I took it to mean Season 4 would be a weekly release. The first three seasons will drop all at once, with Seasons 1 and 2 dropping on AMC+ beginning Saturday, June 1 and the third season dropping Saturday, June 8.
Happy Birthday!
Good, I just never saw the point of waiting until “early 2025” to air this final, wrap-up season of Snowpierceer. Viewers have to wait that long a while after post-production had been completed? Really? David Zaslav has always made inexcusable programming decisions, and this is a consequence.
It’s about time. Welcome Back Snowpiercer. I’m definitely binge watching when all the Season 4 episodes are dropped.
Since it’s on AMC (in addition to AMC+) I would guess they will release weekly as opposed to dropping all at once.
Finally. This made zero sense to me since MAX/Warners paid for the show and couldn’t just put on and say here you go.
I love this show. Will there be a season 5?
Probably not. It took this long to get season 4 on the screen and it was filmed over 3 years ago. I doubt everyone’s schedules could line up for filming even if season 5 was wanted by the fans.
There will not be a season 5, It’s already being advertised as the final season. And, it rarely goes the way fans like it, no matter how much they like a show and what the ratings might be. The studios are leaning more and more toward the bottom line of making ridiculous amounts of money while pumping out multiple garbage “reality” shows. Hollywood is dead.
Talk about crapping on a really good show and on the fans of that show.
International release ?
I would’ve been fine with this ending after Season 3. The last episode did that well.
I wonder what is wrong with frozen bells?
Great show.
Hallelujah!!!!
