We have a stardate, Star Trek: Prodigy fans.
Season 2 of the animated Trek series will premiere Monday, July 1 on Netflix, TVLine has confirmed, and will consist of 20 episodes. (The new premiere date can now be seen when browsing on the Netflix app.)
Watch a new trailer above.
Prodigy was cancelled last June after a single season at Paramount+, but Netflix snapped it up in October with a deal that included a second season that was already in the works at the time of the cancellation.
The kid-friendly series “follows a motley crew of young aliens who must figure out how to work together while navigating a greater galaxy, in search of a better future,” per the official description. Star Trek: Voyager alum Kate Mulgrew reprises her role as Admiral Janeway, leading a voice cast that also includes Brett Gray as Dal, Ella Purnell as Gwyn, Rylee Alazraqui as Rok-Tahk, Angus Imrie as Zero, Jason Mantzoukas as Jankom Pog, Dee Bradley Baker as Murf, John Noble as The Diviner and Jimmi Simpson as Drednok.
Recurring voices include Daveed Diggs as Commander Tysess, Jameela Jamil as Ensign Asencia, Jason Alexander as Doctor Noum, Robert Beltran as Captain Chakotay and Billy Campbell as Thadiun Okona. Kevin and Dan Hageman serve as co-showrunners.

Wohoo!
Very excited about this for sure! I was crushed when Nickelodeon/Paramount decided not to air the second season.
Awesome news. Hoping for Janeway & Chakotay to finally happen.
Binge dump or weekly release?
All 20 episodes drop at once.
Thank you
I usually get all the TV scoops from TVLine , so I found it weird that they missed this news 2 weeks ago. I guess things happens, nobody can have a perfect record.
But yeah, I saw it reported on some Star Trek sites (which they confirmed woth Netflix) and on twitter confirmed by the Hageman brothers.
Still, I didn’t see any news regarding Canada. Anyone knows if it’ll be on Netflix or not? I think CTV still has the rights, if I’m not mistaken, so I don’t know where they will put that show.
I really hate that there are movies and tv shows that we can´t watch in Canada. We have to wait an extra day to watch Criminal Minds Evolution and we can´t still watch on streaming platforms Brats and Madame Web.
Are they dropping all 20 episodes at once or breaking them up?
More importantly: For those of us who didn’t have P+ when Season 1 aired, and of course they’ve pulled it, is there anywhere else to watch it now? I’d hate to jump into Season 2 cold.
Other then Netflix no
