Tacoma FD Cancelled at truTV After Four Seasons (Exclusive)
Tacoma FD has put out its final fire: truTV has cancelled its last remaining scripted series after four seasons, TVLine has exclusively confirmed.
The cancellation news comes four months after its Season 4 finale… which will now have to serve as a series finale.
For the uninitiated: Tacoma FD was set in a firehouse in one of America’s rainiest cities, forcing the firefighters to keep themselves entertained with “creative competitions, friendly first responder rivalries and bizarre emergency calls,” according to the official logline. The series was created by Super Troopers duo Kevin Heffernan and Steve Lemme, who starred as Chief Terry McConky and Captain Eddie Penisi, respectively. Hassie Harrison, Eugene Cordero, Marcus Henderson and Gabriel Hogan rounded out the ensemble.
With Tacoma FD in the rearview mirror, truTV is now done to one unscripted series: Impractical Jokers, which is currently in Season 10.
As TVLine was first to report, truTV’s sister network TBS is also out of the live-action scripted space, having cancelled Miracle Workers, also after four seasons, in November.

Can’t say I didn’t see this coming. The way they delayed the forth season I knew this was probably the last seasons. Sucks I really liked this show.
Not just the delay. It was delayed forever, and then it came back with almost zero publicity. If not for this site, and watching American Dad on TBS, I wouldn’t have known it was back. They announced its return like 5ish weeks before the return, and followed it with minimal publicity. I don’t watch anything else on Tru, so it may have been aggressively promo’d there, I wouldn’t know.

All that added up to it being dead. They never should have ended on a cliffhanger.
It’s too bad because this show was so blatantly ridiculous and wink wink at themselves that is was absolutely hilarious.

I don’t know how these networks plan to survive by not offering any fresh content anymore. They’re all running the same reruns now. And the streamers aren’t pumping out enough quality content to support them.

The shows director and creators are not smart at all for leaving it on a cliffhanger. They needed to be smarter on how to end each season as stated in other comments there was always a long delay and wait time between seasons so why they would end season 4 that way makes no sense. goes to show just because you’re paid millions in Hollywood doesn’t mean you’re smart. in fact most of the people in Hollywood have no form of intelligent life anywhere in them.
This sucks. This show found its footing and was so good.
