NoHo Hank has gone Twisted Metal.
Anthony Carrigan will be a series regular in Season 2 of the Peacock action-comedy adapted from the popular PlayStation video game, Variety reports.
The Barry alum is set to play the game character Calypso, the “mysterious, charismatic host and creator of a dangerous demolition derby tournament who invites all assassins, vigilantes, mercenaries and joyriders to participate,” per the description. He offers each winner the prize of making their greatest wish come true — but that usually comes with a twist.
Additionally, Richard de Klerk (Strange Empire, Supernatural), Patty Guggenheim (She-Hulk: Attorney at Law) and Tiana Okoye (The Good Place, Panhandle) will recur in undisclosed roles.
Season 1 followed a “motor-mouthed outsider (Mackie) who was offered the chance at a better life, but only if he can successfully deliver a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland,” according to the official logline. “With the help of a badass axe-wielding car thief, he’ll face savage marauders driving vehicles of destruction and other dangers of the open road, including a deranged clown who drives an all too familiar ice cream truck.”
The half-hour series hails from creative duo Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (Deadpool, Zombieland), and features scripts from Cobra Kai’s Michael Jonathan Smith.
Meanwhile, Carrigan’s other TV roles include Gotham, The Flash, Parenthood and The Forgotten.
Excellent! Not that I needed another reason to love Twisted Metal, but if I did, the addition of Anthony Carrigan would certainly do the trick. Now if only we had an idea when season two was arriving.
