Sarah Michelle Gellar is turning in her badge: Paramount+ has canceled Wolf Pack after one season, TVLine has learned.
Last summer’s dual Hollywood strikes were the final nail in Wolf Pack‘s coffin. According to sources, a potential second season would not have been ready for nearly two years after the conclusion of Season 1.
Based on Edo van Belkom’s 2004 novel, Wolf Pack followed the aftermath of a California wildfire responsible for awakening a dangerous predator. That beast was eventually revealed to be the long-lost brother of the very twins he’d been targeting all season, with their mother also turning out to be someone other than whom she appeared.
The show starred Armani Jackson as Everett Lang, Bella Shepard as Blake Navarro, Chloe Rose Robertson as Luna Briggs, Tyler Lawrence Gray as Harlan Briggs, Rodrigo Santoro as Garrett Briggs and Gellar as Kristin Ramsey.
Teen Wolf creator Jeff Davis served as Wolf Pack‘s showrunner, executive-producing alongside Gellar, Joseph P. Genier, Karen Gorodetzky, Christian Taylor, Mike Elliott, Jason Ensler and Sean Crouch.
Although Wolf Pack was not a spinoff of Teen Wolf, several cast members from the MTV series made appearances in new roles, including Gideon Emery (formerly Deucalion) as Malcom and Rio Mangini (formerly Alex) as Austin.
Your thoughts on Paramount+’s teen wolf (but not Teen Wolf) series? Drop ’em in a comment below.
Very, very, disappointed. This show was the reason I got Paramount; the only show I watched regularly. No real reason to keep it now.
I actually liked this show and was waiting for a second season
Boo, it did have some issues in its initial episodes and locking down its wolf mythology, but it basically was one of those shows that you felt like, oh, this is where it starts. I had more faith in Paramount to give its attempt at capturing the CW audience and the burdened Netflix genre show fans, but then I was suspicious when School Spirits ended up also on Netflix.
Come on. Really?!?
We’re the ratings not good. I mean it was on paramount so hard to judge.
It was so good.
Hey Jeff Davis. How about a wrap up movie?
I’m bothered by this. One of the few things left I would have watched for sure so it’s such a shame they are throwing it away just as it was taking off. Bad enough to make us wait forever for new content while everything gets sorted out but there’s less and less for us to come back to. They want us to keep paying for streaming we’ll have some loyalty to shows and put down some real episode counts!
I wish they had another season because they left it in a cliffhanger or maybe do a movie to wrap it up with some closure and maybe another streaming service will pick it up.
I’m really upset! I loved the Wolf Pack series on Paramount+! I was sad when Teen Wolf ended. I was happy and excited to see this new take on teenage werewolves especially since Sarah Michelle Gellar was starring in it. I was positively surprised at how easy it was for me to get hooked. Now, I’m so very sad.
DAMN! Another show I like gone into TV oblivion. The networks suck at keeping the crappy shows and canceling the good ones.
Well, that sucks.
I am disappointed to hear this. I thought the show was just getting good as it went on it got better.
Once they show found its pace, it was good. Terrible that streamers do this.
This was a very bad decision the show is really good i hate when they cancel good shows also they need to stop ending show on cliffhangers
Can someone give Sarah Michelle Gellar an actual good show to star in? The woman is talented and charismatic, yet she keeps being given vehicles that IMO are beneath her. Ringer was sort of a guilty pleasure but overall pretty silly. Wolf Pack was a third-rate supernatural teen drama. She’s better than that. Cast her in The White Lotus or something like that.
Didn’t she choose to be in all her post Buffy projects? She’s not being given had project’s, she’s choosing projects she thinks are good.
There are too many original offerings. And the viewer expectations have raised to the level of theatrical release. Basically, we get upset if the SFX aren’t at the level of Avengers Endgame.
.
These genre shows are the prime victim of these expectations. We demand top tier SFX, and not enough people watch to justify that.
Couldn’t get past the first ep; SMG and Santoro were the only good actors among a cast of hair models. I’ll echo another poster by saying I love the supernatural genre, but this wasn’t hittin’ on ish (of course, I also thought Teen Wolf was not very good, so maybe the werewolf genre in general ain’t it for me).
Dissapointment is all I can say, please reconsider the decision. I have been waiting to see when it would be due back. I enjoyed the storyline and how it was going. It was a little different and the cast were great. Little twists her and there.
I loved that show!!!
I had a nice time watching with my daughters
Don’t get attach to any shows on streaming they cancel them after one season and keeps shows that aren’t even good I thought networks was worse nope streaming services are want you pay arm and leg but cancelled shows that get you subscribers
I’m sad. It wasn’t perfect, but I enjoyed it quite a bit. There was so much potential for more seasons.
Literally the only reason I even signed up for Paramount+ was for this series. I cancelled it a few months after the finale when they were mum on a season 2. It’s still peak tv. You have to have exclusive shows that make people want to sign up for your network
What does it take for SMG – Buffy THEE Vampire Slayer to find another hit show? Dang…
This is the real issue with new shows.
I did not watch it due to the fact i fully expected it to be cancelled on a cliff-hanger with no renewal.. Other members of the household did watch it, but already saying they will ignore 2024 new shows. So I, nor they can be the only ones with this attitude now. I have said this before and probably will again.
Other then shows that already had a large fan base such as Star Trek Strange New Worlds, which I did watch. The only new show in the last year or so I gave a chance was Reacher, which thankfully got a second season and now talks of a third,
That sucks! So many questions unanswered!! Truly disappointed on this decision!!!!!😡😡😡😡😡
No
It’s always the good ones and keep the bad ones
Hopefully another station picks it up
I really liked Wolf Pack
