The following post contains major spoilers for The Cleaning Lady‘s Season 3 finale. Proceed with caution!
The Cleaning Lady‘s third season has now been bookended by heartbreak.
Just weeks after Arman perished in a car crash — an inevitable byproduct of star Adan Canto passing away before the season began — the Fox drama concluded Season 3 with, among other events, the shocking death of Arman’s wife, Nadia (played by Eva De Dominici).
Nadia was stabbed by cartel queenpin Ramona in Tuesday’s two-part season ender — and, in a literal twist of the knife, her demise came just as she was finally getting out from under the cartel’s thumb and starting a new life somewhere else. During the finale’s first hour, Thony and Fiona helped Nadia hide from the cartel and got her the resources she’d need for a truly successful fresh start; Thony even revealed to Jorge that Nadia was still alive, and Jorge agreed to transfer Nadia the money (all $40 million of it!) that she would have collected from their joint business venture if her death hadn’t been faked.
With her substantial fortune, a passport with the name Natalie Vasquez and identity-concealing blonde wig in tow, Nadia drove out to an open field with Thony, where she anticipated getting picked up via helicopter for her new life. “I’m glad you’re free,” Thony told Nadia as they shared a sweet hug. “I hope one day, you can be free, too,” Nadia replied. But the helicopter that touched down wasn’t Nadia’s ride, after all. Instead, Ramona stepped out of the chopper, having discovered that Nadia was in fact still alive. Ramona reminded Nadia that she’d given her quite a few chances to be part of the cartel and, by extension, Ramona’s family. But Nadia replied that she had no interest in that life once she knew Ramona was responsible for Arman’s fate.
“You never deserved him. Or me,” Nadia told Ramona, who replied, “At least now you have the guts to say that to my face.” And with that, Ramona drove a knife into Nadia’s stomach, and Thony was pulled away from Nadia as she attempted to save her. (In case there was any doubt that Nadia truly died, her body later showed up on Agent Russo’s doorstep. Yikes.)
Before Nadia bled out, she urged Thony to get revenge on Ramona (“Get her for us. For Arman.”), and Thony did just that in the second hour, with the help of the FBI — and, more surprisingly, Jorge, who was happy to turn on his sister once he discovered that she planned to take his daughter from him and leave him hanging out to dry with the feds.
Ramona was ultimately arrested at a major charity gala she was hosting (which, of course, was just a front for money laundering), leaving Jorge to run the cartel in his sister’s absence. Having worked more closely than ever with Thony during this finale, Jorge offered her a position within the cartel, since she’d no longer have to worry about her or her family’s safety — but Thony declined, of course.
But that does not, apparently, mean that Thony is out of the woods altogether. At the end of the finale, Thony & Co. were at home, rightfully enjoying some hard-earned relaxation — even Camila and her mom, both rescued from the cartel’s workforce, were there — when Luca handed Thony a gift box he’d found addressed to her at the back door. In a separate room, Thony and Fiona opened the box to find a cell phone sitting inside; the attached note read, “Thony, I have a job for you,” and came from a man named Derek, who we’ve yet to see on screen but was repeatedly mentioned by Ramona as one of her close contacts.
“What are you going to do?” Fiona asked Thony, who dropped the phone back in its box as it rang with a call from an unknown number. Thony shook her head and replied, “Not this time.”
With that, I turn it over to you! What did you think of The Cleaning Lady‘s finale? Grade it in our poll below, then drop a comment with your full reviews!
And that was the end of cleaning lady for me. I’m not tuning in next season.
Why. It’s a good show.
it is indeed; however, I think they’ve lost their way from season 1 and this just became another TV “crime drama.” They veered from their initial plans of the show being a timely drama that will explore issues surrounding immigration. It would be great if they also stopped sidelining the best character in the show, Fiona. She deserves much more screen time! BTW, this same actress is also in 2 episodes of Netflix’s The Gentlemen and is amazing
I’d have to disagree. For me, Fiona is (and easily has been since season 1) one of the shows weakest and worst characters. Martha Milan is indeed an incredible actress, but Fiona is so wishy washy. It’s taken three seasons for me to truly understand why she’s even there. She was willing to sell drugs in Season 1, and to do underhanded things to protect her son, all the while berating Thony (who she claims to love) for getting involved with gangsters and the cartel? Then she nearly ratted her out to the government.
Noooo!!! After the death of Arman & now Nadia this is sad. They kill everyone good. I feel this show is not going to have any kind of happy ending. I really hope with this show whenever the series finale does roll around that Thony & Fiona and their kids all are able to live in peace and not have to worry about money or cartel ever again.
The actor that played Armand died from cancer. They weren’t planning to kill his character
I feel the same! Nadia should’ve been able to be happy and free living her life out wherever she wanted to go. Yes, Nadia was bad but you were always rooting for her. I liked the way Thony and her bonded. Very angry with the writers killing her off. Maybe she was wearing a bullet proof vest and no one knows she’s truly alive only the agents. I know, wishful thinking.
Nadia was actually shanked
not shot…
It would have been great to see Nadia and Thony form a close friendship and alliance in season 4 , over their deep love and
the tragic loss of Arman.
I love the show but was disappointed that they killed Nadia
I thought that Nadia and Jorge were going to end up romantically involved with each other.
I did to I was hoping for that because she misses Armand so much
I agree in TV though death is not always the end for a character. Although she probably is indeed dead, and won’t return. Its still a TV show. With a little creative writing the character could return.
I was sad to see Eva De Dominici die, I would have liked for her to be save after she was stab and then gotten together with Jorge.
I thought that Nadia and Jorge were going to end up romantically involved with each other.
Those two hours flew by quickly thanks to an entertaining season finale. Even though she was bad, I thoroughly enjoyed Ramona.
Didn’t see Nadia getting killed off the show.
Her storyline was basically done. I figured if anyone was to be killed it would be Nadia although I love the actress and the character.
Love the show
Clearly they wanted to move on from Arman era, getting rid from all of his connections. Next season it will be likely like a new show
Nadia was the hottest reason to watch this show.
I understand why Nadia was killed off. The show must pivot due to real life tragedy. Now, the Arman chapter can close. I think as long as Nadia was still a character, it didn’t allow the show to fully move onto new storylines. I really like Santiago’s portrayal of Jorge, hope he sticks around for another season. Truthfully, I fully expected the show to be cancelled, and am glad it can have another season. Looking forward to where the story goes.
I found the story line on the pursuit and dangers of the migrants to be very boring. The ending of the finale with the cartel story line seemed predictable and uninspiring. The writing was much better in season 1 than in 2 and 3.
Love the show…..watched from the beginning! I think Arman is gonna show back up on the show somehow. The drama will continue. I look forward to next season! Who knows what might happen!!!
I hope he does. I loved the original Arman but I wanted them to fake his death or let him survive the crash and give him facial reconstructive surgery and amnesia.
They could maybe get JR Ramirez (from Manifest) and have someone who sort of looks like Adan Canto
You mean a recast?
Loved all the characters and the plots to survive. Great job to all of you. Our deepest prayers and condolences to Al’man family and friends he will be missed.💔
Even though Nadia was bad, I liked her and I don’t think she ought to die. They should’ve just let her escape and live her life free from the cartels. Thony has gone done everything to ensure her family and her safety. Now, I think Thony should do everything she can to take down EVERYONE and she should trust no one except her family. I feel bad for her, because after Nadia’s death she wanted to be fully out, but she can’t break free. How much can this poor woman take?! She could turn fully cold- hearted, then ALL should watch out.
OMG …. I have NEVER been so moved by a series…. He in the UK were only on series 2 where Marco has just died. (Thank goodness) I absolutely adore watching Aadan Canton and I am so upset that he’s passed away. Absolutely Gorgeous…. Incredibly talented actor and wonderful to watch. I hate that he’s passed away . My condolences go out to his family…. A loss that will never be forgotten. Please keep up with the fantastic stories on The Cleaning Lady and hopefully you can bring in another gorgeous actor for her to fall in love with. BRILLIANT SERIES 💯🙏👌❤️
Gave up on The Cleaning Lady several episodes ago, but thought I’d read this recap to learn how much further off the rails the writers could take it. They are merciless– let’s kill off Nadia as well, not enough that Arman is gone. With Ramona in prison, must this series continue? For some reason, yes, despite the low ratings.
Next season Thony will have to deal with the mysterious character, “Derek”…..
Hopefully, that character
will be portrayed by an
interesting actor.
Can’t wait for next season
I think Nadia needs to be shown alive in Season 3 but held captive by Ramona and without her brother knowing. Ramona needs to have her lawyer got her out of the arrest.
Nadia should have lived & Ramona should be the one to die. Just saying.
The cleaning lady was the best tv show for the last 3 seasons, can’t wait for the fourth !
The cast are amazing, Thony she’s really a total great actress, I’m amazed by her !!!
Thank you so much for getting us hook on our chair with thrilling scenes!!
I strongly recommended this series that will captivated you till the end
It would be terrific if they cast the actor Damian Chapa as a character on The Cleaning Lady.
Hate that Nadia got killed by Ramona. But at least Thony and Nadia and Jorge got Ramona at the end. I just want some peice for Thony and her family and for them to all be happy and in a good place.
Nadia was a great character she should not have been killed off . Best two characters are dead.
I loved the cleaning lady. Bring more seasons plz.
God Show!!!!
It’s the best show on tv. There’s always a lot of action and the cast are great
