Max Thieriot
Max Thieriot headlines CBS’ Fire Country, which he co-created with Tony Phelan and Joan Rater, and on which he serves as an executive producer (and also sometimes directs). The most-watched and top-rated new drama of the 2022-23 TV season, and inspired by Thieriot’s experiences growing up in Northern California, Fire Country follows Bode, a young convict seeking redemption (and a shortened sentence) by joining a prison-release firefighting program. But what Bode was not expecting was to be stationed in his rural hometown of Edgewater, where years prior he (figuratively!) “burned down everything in his life” and then left, harboring a big secret.
Prior to — and in fact for a short while concurrent with — Fire Country, Thieriot was an original cast member on CBS/Paramount+’s SEAL Team, where he played Tier 1 operator Clay Spenser. After CBS ordered Fire Country to series for the 2022-23 TV season, Thieriot’s SEAL Team character was written out midway through the military drama’s sixth season.
Thieriot’s other TV credits include A&E’s Bates Motel (where he played Norman’s maternal half-brother/cousin, Dylan Massett) and the 2015 History miniseries Texas Rising, where he played a Texas Ranger in a cast that also included Bill Paxton, Brendan Fraser, Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Kris Kristofferson.
