Snowpiercer Final Season Trailer Teases Villainous Clark Gregg, a ‘Holy S–t!’ Reveal and Kidnapped [Spoiler]

The trailer for Snowpiercer‘s fourth and final season, which pulls into AMC next month, promises both a “closing chapter” and a “new beginning.”

The new footage from the dystopian drama’s swan song (press play above) also features a “Holy s–t!” discovery for Till (played by  Mickey Sumner), a glimpse of New Eden and the reveal of Clark Gregg — who is already currently ruffling feathers on Criminal Minds: Evolution — as a new adversary.

Season 4 of the TNT transplant is set to premiere on AMC and AMC+ on Sunday, July 21, at 9/8c. (Seasons 1-3 of Snowpiercer are now streaming exclusively on AMC+, if you’re game for a catch-up.)

The Snowpiercer Season 3 finale left us with Melanie Cavill (played by Jennifer Connelly) leading the Eternal Engine and those passengers who chose to stay aboard Snowpiercer for relative safety, while Andre Layton (Daveed Diggs) led the others on Big Alice, choosing to adventure to the unknown world of “New Eden.”

Snowpiercer Season 4 also stars Sean Bean, Rowan Blanchard, Alison Wright, Iddo Goldberg, Katie McGuinness, Lena Hall, Sam Otto, Chelsea Harris, Mike O’Malley, Roberto Urbina and Sheila Vand.

New for Season 4, meanwhile, are Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.‘s Gregg and The Americans‘ Michael Aronov, in unspecified roles. Additionally, Zbyszewski (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.Helstrom) took over as showrunner, succeeding EPs Graeme Manson and Aubrey Nealon.

Mike O’Malley, who plays former brakeman Sam Roche, previously told TVLine that Season 4 boasts “incredible storytelling done by our [new] showrunner Paul Zbyszewski.” Asked if Season 4 was written at all as a final season, he said, “We were actually hoping that we’d keep going, but I think there’s an ending to that where it could be the end, and it’s very hopeful…. So I really, really can’t wait for that show to get out there and for people to see it, because it’s awesome.”
