We are excited to announce that the 2025 XTERRA World Championship will once again take place in the picturesque town of Molveno, Italy. This decision comes after careful consideration of our initial plan to move the event to the APAC region, which, while promising, requires additional time to meet the high standards expected of a World Championship-level event. We are confident that the APAC location will be ready to host in 2026, and we are excited about the potential it holds for the future. Returning to Molveno for another year allows us to build on the incredible success of the previous three years. Molveno, nestled in the breathtaking Trentino region, offers a unique combination of natural beauty and challenging terrain, making it an ideal setting for our athletes to push their limits. We are also delighted to announce that the Youth World Championship will return to Molveno for its second year. The inaugural Youth World Championship is shaping up to be a tremendous success, and we believe that allowing it to mature in the same location will provide young athletes with the stability and opportunity they deserve to grow and excel. Continuing our partnership with the local municipalities in Trentino is another exciting aspect of this decision. Their unwavering support for XTERRA and commitment to the growth of our sport has been nothing short of remarkable. We look forward to working closely with them to deliver an even more unforgettable experience for all participants and spectators in 2025. The XTERRA community can look forward to an exhilarating event in Molveno, as we continue to enhance the athlete experience and uphold the highest standards of competition. Choosing the next location of a championship race is usually one of the hardest decisions we have, but taking the 2024 European Trail Run Champs to the peaks of the Pyrenees was one that came easy, and for a number of reasons. Firstly, there are the trails themselves. These are absolutely world-class trails and need no introduction to the global trail run community. The valleys and peaks that surround the small village of Arinsal, Andorra, are nothing short of an endless theatre for mountain enthusiasts, and for decades trail runners have been making the pilgrimage to experience the legendary trails of the Pyrenees. Then there is the organising partner, OCISPORT, who have for 2 decades been producing high-level running events and large-format festivals, and will undoubtedly deliver an exceptional race experience for every athlete on the starting line. In 2023 the event joined the XTERRA Trail Run World series for the first time and it was immediately clear that the team was able to tick every box needed for a championship-level event. Rest assured, this team will stop at nothing to make the European Trail Run Champs one of the biggest events of the 2024 season. And finally, and perhaps most importantly, is the community. This event comes with a significant history and growing community behind it. Now in the second year that the event has grown to become the all-inclusive Mountain Festival Comapedrosa, this is not just a race event but rather a festival designed to celebrate all the values XTERRA holds dear: nature, community, adventure, and challenge. This combination made it an easy choice, and the countdown to Europe’s biggest trail run event of 2024 has officially begun. As the XTERRA Trail Run World Series continues to expand in 2024, we're venturing onto trails revered in ancient Chinese culture all the way to the big screen. In October, the UNESCO World Heritage site Zhangjiajie in Wulingyuan, China, will proudly unveil its first-ever international event, featuring 50K and 21K trail runs. In the spirit of our commitment to sustainability, a deep connection with nature, and the pursuit of unbridled challenges, the XTERRA Zhangjiajie Wulingyuan Trail Run embodies XTERRA’s core values.
