JJessica LThe cleaning staff at this hotel were nice people and that's where the positives end. The front desk staff/owner is rude af. Why are you in a customer service business if all you do is scowl at people and act like they are bothering you when they are there to give you money?? I asked for a 1st floor room 5 seconds after the guy started checking me in a d he was like ”I already put you on the 2nd floor,” as if he couldn't easily change it. The entire hotel smelled bad, like bug spray (you'll find out why later) and wet paint as some guy was going around doing random spot painting in the halls without putting up signs or anything, so of course my dog and one of my bags grazed against wet paint. The elevator it rickety and makes a scary noise every time it stops. There were many sketchy people in and around the hotel, doors slamming all night, crazy people yelling, etc. Then once you get in the room things only get worse. The flat sheet, fitted sheet and top ”comforter” (its paper thin) all had stains and/or burn holes, the towels had stains, the ac was super loud and impossible to sleep through, the shower door doesn't actually close properly and is clearly makeshift, the remote barely worked, had to press buttons down super hard over and over to change channels and to top it all off there were roaches and a spider and maybe more. I felt itchy and irritated the whole time I was there, felt like I could never get clean or relax or sleep soundly. I am aware Motel 6 is a budget motel and I have been staying there for a out 2 decades, so I know not to expect luxury, but I do expect a clean room where I can take a shower and have a good night's sleep. That's the bare minimum for any hotel. In this particular case the staff was so rude and apathetic it seemed pointless and intimidating to bring these issues to their attention and upon contacting Motel 6 I just recieved a ”we're so sorry.” To me that is not good enough. I would avoid this hotel at all costs if I were you. I booked 4 nights and ended up paying over $300 and unfortunately I do not have the funds to leave until my reservation is done, bit when I did I stayed at the Sonesta Select in Richardson for about $10-$15/night and had a completely different experience. Nice, spotlessly clean, comfortable and wonderful staff. My advice to that Motel 6 is to sell and go into a business that doesn't require customer service because you clearly aren't interested in that.
