3303frankgMy wife, Joanne, and I, while searching online for accommodation in Rockhampton, Queensland, Australia, stumbled on a ”motel” called La Casa Nostra. The obvious concern Joanne had, you might say, was the organized crime insinuation in the name. I explained that the name of the motel translates to Our Home not Our Thing as the La Cosa Nostra signifies. That said we were drawn to this place mainly because instead of traditional motel rooms La Casa Nostra ”motel” is actually a series of well appointed villas, each with an ensuite toilet, bedroom, kitchen type sink and counter space, motel frig, microwave and small patio. There is no actual stove so that it fits into a motel category. If the kitchen were to be fully equipped, it would be an apartment and not meet the zoning requirements. All that said, we had an excellent experience, for which we have to thank the manager, Vicky. She was diligent, friendly, and very professional. There is a barbecue and laundry room (complete with washer and dryer) right in the middle of the property. Vicky has coins available at the desk if you don't have pocket money. Kangaroos are in the backyard, and an excellent tavern is just down the street. As two people that have travelled much of the world, this is the best ”Motel” and manager we have ever experienced. Thank you! We will be back. All the best, Joanne and Frank
Most importantly for me was the fact that the room didn't have that ”motel” smell. The room was very clean, small but very functional. The bed was great. The windows actually opened and we could use a fan and not be forced to use an air conditioner. The staff were particularly helpful and friendly. The motel is in a very convenient position. Some road noise but you expect that. Will go back.
KKel CBest park we've stayed at so far! Great size sites so we didn't have an issue with our large van. It's a great set up and is well maintained. We paid extra for the ensuit. New, fresh and looks great Our friends paid extra and stayed at a Deluxe site at the back of the park. Wow. Loooads of room, fireplace to themselves and a string of lights surrounding the area for a pretty night. The kids had a smile on their face, loving the well maintained waterplay area, and also the pools (not heated but warm enough). The only negative was the games room. Kids have wrecked everything and all you could do was watch tv. Love to return as often as we can Thankyou
Jjo RVisitor to Rockhampton for work. Staying for two nights - room was lovely -well equipped , clean and roomy. Staff at check in as well as kitchen/ restaurant were extremely friendly and helpful. They were outstanding and couldn't do enough to help. They are such an asset!
We stayed one night in a Standard Villa. The park was in a good location for walking to the CBD and the shops and restaurants. The cabin was oldish, but was clean, well maintained and with all the necessary items for self catering. The bed was comfortable. A good size TV with Foxtel available. The park was in a quiet location. The lady at reception was very helpful.
Reception was very helpful when we requested small plates, knife and toaster as we were there 4 days and wanted toast for breakfast. Only odd thing is that they supply cups and lots of tea & coffee but no spoons. Our room was clean and bed was comfy. We had 2 huskies with us and the outside area was so good for them. They enjoyed lying in the sun in the mornings. The Motor Inn is in a convenient area, close to shops, but even though it was on the main road, it was very quiet. Meals were nice but a little pricey. Nice Tavern just up the road but also a bit pricey. We will be back to stay here again.
Very accomodating establishment. Very much value for money. Continental breakfast was great. Very clean, neat and tidy room. Central to everything. Lovely Asian food available up until 8pm and room delivery. Good parking with easy access. Staff are very helpful and happy.
VVoyage24125556145This place is nothing like the photos! My bed was collapsing in the middle and room had dog smell and not very clean. Door to room was half smashed in, floor Lino coming up and a trip hazard for my disabled client Pool area was a hazard and over grown with weeds and trip hazard’s with concrete broken and very low broken shade sail. Broken old pool furniture. Inside room was marks everywhere from dog’s scratching and chewing. Avoid it
