The School Of St Jude
Primary and Secondary Education
The School of St Jude is a pioneering leader in charitable education within Africa.
About us
Founded in 2002, The School of St Jude started with three students and a big dream to bring the opportunity of a 100% free, quality education to children living in poverty. Today, St Jude’s is a pioneering leader in charitable education within Africa. We educate 1,800 students across a primary and two secondary campuses and achieve among the top results in the country. We support 100s of graduates through higher education and provide 10,000 Tanzanians with quality teaching each year. Here at St Jude’s we encourage Tanzanian youth to do more than just succeed – we empower them to transform their community, challenge the status quo and find solutions for the 45 million Tanzanians living in poverty. We are more than a school, but a model to overcome extreme poverty. The result speak for themselves, having seen 80% of our graduates’ families overcome extreme poverty by the time they graduate. This is just the beginning.

Cyber Security Awareness at St Jude’s October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month, and you bet St Jude’s actively took part in this international initiative promoting online safety! With the tagline #TrustNoOneProtectEverything, our staff across the three campuses participated in a series of activities hosted by our Corporate Applications team. Staff competed for cool prizes in online quizzes and other activities promoting cyber safety and security. Winners were recognised during our monthly Employee Huddle. It was a powerful reminder for our staff and students alike to stay vigilant and protect organisational and personal data from cyberattacks. A special highlight was a lovely surprise from one of our alumni, Zuberi, a software engineer and cyber security expert, who returned to lead an insightful training for our Head Office staff.

Another historic day at St Jude's! Last Saturday, 235 students from St Jude’s graduated from Ordinary Level (O Level) secondary education. In Tanzania, secondary school is divided into two levels: the first four years of Ordinary Level (O Level), from Form 1 to Form 4, and the final two years of Advanced Level (A Level), Form 5 and 6. A graduation ceremony marks the end of each level. The colorful event brought together graduates from both St Jude’s Girls' Secondary School and St Jude’s Secondary School for the first joint celebration. Our graduates will spend the next few weeks preparing for their final national examinations. We wish them all the best!
