Stepping up our regional outreach efforts and supporting Ukraine's economic stability – AmCham Ukraine President Andy Hunder and Vice President Tetyana Prokopchuk met with Viktor Mykyta, Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine. The main focus of the discussion was on promoting regional growth, improving business operations on the ground, attracting foreign direct investment, and boosting Ukraine’s overall economic resilience. 🤝 We are grateful to Viktor Mykyta and his professional team for their active involvement and willingness to cooperate with the business community during war.

We held the second meeting of our Business Resilience & Industrial Security Hub, where participants discussed war-related challenges for 2025, opportunities for Ukraine, interaction with law enforcement agencies, and economic and tax issues for 2025. AmCham members gathered to meet with Olha Yukhymchuk, Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine. During the meeting, the participants discussed: ▪️ the Ministry’s strategy and action plan on the approximation of the Ukrainian legislation to the legislation of the European Union (EU) in the sphere of environmental protection; ▪️ aspects related to the implementation of technical regulations on hazard labelling and packaging of chemicals regulations (REACH & CLP); ▪️ key actions required to bring Ukraine’s waste management legislation into compliance with the EU one. AmCham Ukraine members met with Viktor Liashko, Minister of Health of Ukraine, and Edem Adamanov, Deputy Minister of Health of Ukraine. In focus – Draft Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine (CMU) “On Amendments to Clause 1 of the CMU Resolution #955 dated October 17, 2008” regarding the establishment of markups on all medicines. AmCham delivered a position that the mentioned Draft Resolution cannot be adopted due to critical risks to the accessibility of medicines. As a result of the meeting, the Ministry of Health of Ukraine will work on the Draft Resolution based on member companies’ feedback. We are delighted to announce the results of the Annual Election of the AmCham Legal Committee. Everyone must pay their taxes in the country at war. AmCham Ukraine President Andy Hunder delivered the voice of bona fide business at the panel discussion "Raising Taxes During Wartime: Was There an Alternative?" at the Western Ukrainian Business Forum in Ivano-Frankivsk. The panel explored critical issues around wartime taxation and its impact on businesses, discussing whether alternative approaches could have been considered to balance fiscal needs with economic resilience. The discussion also featured the following speakers: Serhyi Pozhiak, Founder of FinStream and Cronvest; Ruslan Illichov, Director General of the Federation of Employers of Ukraine; and Vasyl Andrusyak, Partner at Moris Group.
